Joyful Christmas

Popping in quickly today to share one of the cards we made at Tuesday’s class.

The ladies were lovely in humouring my love of non-traditional Christmas cards!!

We made this ‘sweet’ pink & silver card, using the Wonderful Year stamp set.

You could make a rainbow of these cards!  If you’ve still got cards to make, it’s a great way to craft in bulk!

What do you think a yellow Christmas card would look like???

Timeout Tuesday – Shaving Foam Technique

It was time for my monthly class this morning and we made this gorgeous card using the shaving foam technique.

Shaving Foam Technique - Christmas : Wonderful Year stamp set. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Have you tried it?

Tips:

  • Shimmery White cardstock works the best for this technique
  • any shaving foam will do – it doesn’t have to be expensive
  • add drops of each colour of reinker to your shaving foam and create a swirly pattern with a knife or skewer
  • ‘smoosh’ (that’s the technical term) your cardstock on top of your shaving foam mix
  • remove & wipe off the excess with a squeegee
  • all to dry before adding to your card

I’ve embellished with copper foil & embossing.

I {LOVE} the boldness of the sentiments from the “Wonderful Year” stamp set.

I hope you get a chance to try this fun technique.

It works with pretty much any colour combination – and the best part is the experimentation!  You will never get the same pattern – even from the same shaving foam / ink set.
