Catalogue Transition – the old & the new

As a demonstrator, I love the period of catalogue transition!  Twice as many Stampin’ Up! products to love at the same time.  I can make projects to share with retiring & carryover items, as well as share sneak peeks of the wonderful things to come.

It’s a good chance to remind you to place an order for any of the items from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue & 2018 Occasions Catalogue that you’ll miss – stock up on paper, refills, DSP and make sure you own favourite stamp sets, dies, punches & accessories.  Once we hit the evening of 31st May 2018, all the items on the retirement / last chance list will disappear from the online store.

From 10am (WA time) on 1st June 2018, the new catalogue items will be available to order!!!  Yay!

This sweet little card uses a mix of retiring items and a new stamp set that will join us on Friday.

Happy Mother’s Day 2018

Nanna Papercraft is away for Mother’s Day this year – enjoying the delights the international world has to offer!

So, I’ve had to be sneaky and chase her along the way!

This is her card, delivered to her holiday location over the weekend…

Apron of Love | kelly kent

The Apron of Love bundle – stamp set & coordinating framelits – is available in the Occasions catalogue will continue through to the 2018 Annual Catalogue.  Buy both the stamp set & framelits before 31st May 2018 and save 10% (bundles expire for any items that carry over to a subsequent catalogue).

Apron of Love | kelly kent

The stamp set has a great range of sentiments including Mum/Mom (how clever is the use of that font!!).

Apron of Love | kelly kent

The Mother’s Day sentiment is from the You’re Inspiring stamp set – another set we’ll be enjoying for the year to come.  I borrowed from Nanna Papercraft’s craft room…. no point in lonely stamps at her house while she’s away!

I hope all mummies have a great day this coming Sunday (Mother’s Day in Australia).

I have gift vouchers available if any of your children need ideas, or buy your own very thoughtful gift in my online store.  Click to start your list!

Product List

On “Target” for style

Depending on how much you follow trends & fashion might alter how much you notice just how ‘on trend’ Stampin’ Up! always are with their designs.

Every time I think of this concept I go back to that scene in the Devil Wears Prada movie where she tells Anne Hathaway’s character that the colours & styles she wears are no accident.

I’m never sure who starts the trends, but you can always guarantee to see themes throughout fashion, homewares & accessories.

This season it’s all about the fruity, so when we were shopping in Target last week for new clothes for Miss Papercraft, it was like shopping through the pages of the Stampin’ Up! catalogue!

Check out these fruity pants!

Tutti Frutti pants

A little fussy cutting practice from the Tutti Frutti DSP and they make a great transformation into a card….

And from a drink bottle…..

…to a birthday card!

Fruit Basket Pears | kelly kent

Like the sensible people they are at Target, they’re still using the gorgeous Mint Macaron colour.  I’m hopeful we’ll get it back into our range one day.  Until then, I’m giving some of my retired favourite some air time!

What’s your favourite Stampin’ Up! colour that you can no longer get?  I’m also missing Lost Lagoon (probably because it pairs so well with Mint Macaron!).

Keep those eyes open and snap some cheeky iphone photos while you’re out shopping.  It makes for great inspiration when you get home!!!

Tutti Frutti Suite

Sweet Birthday Wishes

There really is something for everyone in the new Occasions catalogue!

Check out this oh-so-cute Fruit Basket bundle that’s part of the Tutti-Frutti suite.

I am head over heels in love with the Tutti Frutti DSP, which I’ve been using on almost every fun & bright card I’ve made this month!

I first saw the Fruit Basket stamp set & punch pack when we attended OnStage late last year.  It’s definitely easy to overlook in the catalogue- but has this amazing addictive quality to it when you actually have a play.

Here’s what I made at OnStage…

Tutti Frutti | kelly kent

Those little fruit images really are the sweetest!!! They stamp slightly larger than the punch, so it’s easy to line them up within the punch boundaries without spending hours ‘getting it right’.  My kind of bundle!!!

The sentiments are varied and useful.  We used the ‘happy birthday to you!’ in yesterday’s class to make this cute card!

Fruit Basket | kelly kent

You know, I’ve never liked those doilies much!  They are little old fashioned for my usual style of cards – but they work perfectly for this theme!!!

Fruit Basket | kelly kent

I had a minor moment of ‘perspective’ that the pineapple, strawberry & pear are all the same size…. which is obviously not going to happen like that in a fruit bowl in real life.  And then, I got over it and just decided they are too cute to care!

Fruit Basket | kelly kent

These teeny tiny punches are available in a set of 4 for $40, or buy together with the stamp set for $61 (Australian pricing).

My online store is open 24-7 for all your cute & tiny stamping needs.

And every $90 of cute earns you a Sale-A-Bration rewards.  Earn one or all of them!!!

CASEing the Catty #160 | Picture Perfect Party

Hello!  How was the first week of 2018 for you?

My year has started marvellously – fun, sun & family…. a sign of a great year to come!

Tonight you’re joining me for a CASEing the Catty blog hop – the first one from the new catalogue which went live on Wednesday.

We are CASEing pages 4-9 from the 2018 Occasions catalogue which starts with the Picture Perfect Party suite and moves through to some awesome birthday themed stamps.

Image may contain: text

I skipped past the Picture Perfect Party for this hop and found the perfect sample picture on page 9….

The Birthday Wit stamp set wins the Occasions Catalogue for me!  It’s funny & so different to the usual birthday sets.

I was inspired by the Tutti Frutti DSP, layout and styling of this card.  I used that inspiration to create…

CASEing the Catty #160 Birthday Wit | kelly kent

As we embark on our own gluten free journey here at Papercraft HQ, this card was particularly relevant for me this week.

As I was chopping up Tutti Frutti paper, I thought this layout worked well too…

The good news I have lots of ‘free’ labels left over so I’ll be able to whip up other witty cards quickly in the future.

There’s 3 witty saying and an awesome Happy Birthday in this set…

I wanted to test them all out, so here’s 3 more cards I made while I was getting the stamp set inky and cutting up the gorgeous Tutti Frutti DSP…

I think everyone should order this set!  We all know someone with a fabulous sense of humour!

You can view the catalogue online here.

Continue the hop by visiting the always gorgeous Elizabeth Gross.

Thanks for visiting, have a great week!

Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop | Sketch

Paper Adventures - Blog Hop Header

Well, hello December!!!

Our Paper Adventures team has been blogging each month since May – I’m so proud of all the wonderful projects we’ve shared!!!

This month we welcome my beautiful friend Jackie Aitken as a guest designer.  Jackie is a demo who lives in Perth, Western Australia (the town where I grew up) and as well as being so lovely, her designs are amazing!!!  Thanks to Jackie and all my stamping friends that have joined us in 2017 as guest designers.

For December’s hop, I’ve designed a sketch and asked everyone to create a project using this as inspiration.

Paper Adventures December 2017 Blog Hop | kelly kent

Both of my projects tonight contain sneak peeks of what you can expect when the Occasions 2018 & Sale-A-Bration catalogues go live on 3rd January.  So many lovely, pretty & funky new products to own!!!  And some of them are free – yes {FREE} with qualifying purchases!

The first card I am sharing with you tonight is a {VERY} literal use of the sketch.

Party Pandas | kelly kent

New DSP – Tutti Fruitti – where the panels are (the reverse sides are so versatile!), banner across the middle, solid cardstock centre and a sentiment!

Party Pandas | kelly kent

I just can’t get enough of the cute little panda!!!  He’s a free choice during Sale-A-Bration. Spend $90 from 3rd Jan 2018 – 31st March 2018 and you can take him & his friends home!!!

How do I own him now?  #demoperks #joinourPaperAdventuresteam

The second card is a more liberal use of the sketch.

I’ve swapped the panels for soda bottles, the sentiment is in the circle on the middle bottle and the banner is behind the bottles.

Bubble & Fizz | kelly kent

These brightly coloured bottles are from the Bubble & Fizz DSP – another free choice during Sale-A-Bration!  Other coordinating products in this suite are the Bubble Over stamp set, Bottles & Bubbles Framelits and Glitter Epoxy Shapes.

Psssttt…. the framelits cut out the DSP – OMG!

Bubble & Fizz | kelly kent

Are you a little challenged when it comes to lining things up?

Here’s my tips for the panda panel card:

  • Cut your DSP to the size you normally would then trim about 1/4″ off the end.
  • Work out how big each panel needs to be by dividing the length by the DSP by the # panels.  Although I work in inches for cardmaking, the decimal system makes division so much easier!!!.  The panda card has DSP that’s 9.8cm x 13cm, cut into 4.3cm (x9.8cm)  panels
  • Test out that the panel size works – it’s too late once you’ve started sticking!!!
  • When you’ve got the measurement, adhere your end 2 panels first, then the middle one.  This allows you to centre the middle panel with equal distance between the edge ones.  Left to right rarely works out – no matter how hard you try!!

Lining up panels | kelly kent

For the soda card:

  • Adhere the middle bottle first (use a ruler if you’re not so good at judging middle!)
  • Then add the items either side!

Please keep hopping for more great ideas.  Next up is one of our team who is joining in for the first time!  She’s extremely talented, so I’m excited she’s decided to share with you!

Pop over to Joanne Gaff via Facebook to see her take on the sketch.

Thanks for hopping with us today!

If you see any products along the way, everyone on this hop is an Australian demonstrator and can help you with your order.  My online shop is here: http://bit.ly/shopSUwithkellykent

If you’re not in Australia, please visit the Demonstrator Locator at stampinup.com to find a demonstrator who lives close to you.

There are only a few short weeks until new products are available.  Leave me a comment if you live in Australia and need a catalogue sending to you.
