WWYS #127 Coffee Cafe Guest Designer

Hello!  I love challenges and try to play along with different ones as my time permits.

A couple of weeks ago, I joined in with What Will You Stamp for their Daisy Delight challenge.

I was ‘delighted’ to be chosen as the winner, and was asked to guest design for this week’s challenge.

The stamp set for this week is Coffee Cafe.

What Will You Stamp #127 Coffee Cafe

As you know, I love the DSP for this suite!!!

And that has given me a strong association for cards in the suite colours – browns, blues & greens!

So, for my WWYS #127 card, I wanted to go the total opposite and stamp using pinks, purples and greys!

And I love it!!!

I used the ‘frappe’ stamps and dies for this card – ones I hadn’t played with yet.

And remembered to stamp on DSP, using it for the coffee cup base!  How pretty is the Petal Garden DSP!?!

The sentiment is cut from the larger sentiment to just say ‘friend’ (white embossing on Rich Razzleberry).

The background is a mix of the coffee beans from the Coffee Cafe stamp set and the circle stamp from Timeless Textures – they are a great coffee stain pattern and similar to the one used in the DSP.

Thanks to What Will You Stamp for having me this week!

You can pop over to the What Will You Stamp blog to see all the cards from the design team and add your Coffee Cafe creation to the challenge.

You could be the next guest designer!!!

CASEing the Catty #106 Favourite Hostess Set

12371218_10153736740662158_9102306381153319857_o

It’s a full Sunday today, with another hop for you to enjoy!

Today at CASEing the Catty, it’s all about the hostess sets from the Annual Catalogue – pages 198 – 201 or Holiday Catalogue – page 3.

I’ve already CASEd the Holiday Catalogue for my CTC swaps – you can see my shrink reindeers here.

So, today I’m CASEing the Annual Catalogue, specially the layout from this beautiful card.

I thought this would make a perfect starting point for a card for the baby shower I attended today.

There’s was a ‘no pink’ brief – which I {TOTALLY} ignored!!!

I’m a pink lover and having had 2 girls – I know how hard it is to avoid pink for little girls – it’s everywhere!!!

The biggest Little Miss Papercraft’s favourite colour has always been yellow.  It’s so difficult to get yellow anything for girls!

In fairness, the pink was inspired by this beautiful bandana bib I bought as part of their baby shower gift – which matches our Sweet Sugarplum cardstock perfectly!

So, it’s actually not pink…

And when you add ink all that black, grey, silver & gold, it’s not really all that pink at all!!!

Really!!!  Hopefully they’ll love it and I won’t be the only rule-ignoring guest!

Stamp Review Crew – Picture Perfect

picture-perfect-banner

It’s been a while between Stamp Review Crew hops for me, so I’m excited to be back in the mix again today!!

Let me take you around the world for a “Picture Perfect” blog hop.  The hop aims to travel in a circular fashion, but if you get lost along the way, just click on the banner above to take you to the main SRC page.

That’s right, today it’s projects feature the Picture Perfect photopolymer stamp set.

This cute set features 3 multi-step designs including a rose (with leaves), hummingbird & starfish, plus great sentiments for all occasions.

I decided to create tags to use as features on my card fronts – with no-so-perfect watercolour stamping.

As you’ll see on the hop, the 2, 3 or 4 step stamping in these designs create beautiful 3D images that leap off the page.

I wanted to go a little whimsical, so I stamped each layer and then immediately washed over with an aquapainter to make it run.

Here’s the starfish (with Serene Scenery DSP)…

And the rose…

And my favourite – the hummingbird!

There’s so much you can do with this set!

I can’t wait to see what the crew came up with, starting with Holly Krautkremer.

Cookie Cutter Halloween – All Wrapped Up! WWYS#86

Today’s post starts with a little confession…

I mostly purchased the Cookie Cutter Halloween & Tin of Tags stamp sets just to make a card like this one.  {Please tell me that other people buy sets for this reason too!}

I love a good pun, so couldn’t resist pairing ‘all wrapped up’ with the mummy stamp!!!

Funnily enough, they have become 2 of my favourites from the Holiday Catalogue!!!

And when What Will You Stamp had this set as their weekly challenge, it was time to make it happen!

Quick & easy, this card is perfect for a little birthday man…

I stamped the mummy twice – first in Smoky Slate and then again slightly off centre in Basic Gray.  This gave him a cool shadow.

Stamp Review Crew – Timeless Textures

timeless-textures-banner

Morning!  Officially it’s spring here in Bunbury, Western Australia – but someone forgot to tell the weather man!  So, instead of bright and sunny, it’s overcast and a little soggy!

Not to worry, stamping & blog hopping doesn’t need perfect weather and in fact, it’s nice and cosy at the craft table!!!

Snuggle up, and come around the world as we visit international blogs in search of inspiration for today’s feature stamp set – Timeless Textures!

It’s a set with unlimited possiblities and I can’t wait to see what everyone has come up with.

During the week, I’d decided that I was going to use the stamps to form a repetitive background sequence in clear embossing.

I’d only intended to make a couple, but as I started matching the background pieces with other stamps in my collection, it was fun to keep going!

All in all, I made 5 cards in this style.  Here’s the backgrounds…

Stamp Review Crew - Timeless Textures. Clear Embossed Backgrounds. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

And here’s the cards…

Block of Dots + Seaside Shore

Stamp Review Crew - Timeless Textures. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Circles + Fairy Celebration

Stamp Review Crew - Timeless Textures. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Random Dots + Lots of Love

Fleur de Lis + Mixed Drinks

Stamp Review Crew - Timeless Textures. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Woodgrain +  Country Livin’

Stamp Review Crew - Timeless Textures. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I’m undecided if they need sentiments or if they say enough as they are!

What do you think???

Any favourites???  For me it’s never the planned cards but always the afterthoughts that I fall in love with.  I love the cowboy boots!!!

Thanks for hopping with me!

Next stop on the inspiration trail is Shana Gaff and her timeless creations!
