CASEing the Catty #120 Urban Underground

Hello!  Welcome to the CASEing the Catty Sunday blog hop.

You’re joining me & my demonstrator friends as we share projects we’ve created that are inspired by the photos within the pages of the Stampin’ Up! catalogue.

To “CASE” is to Copy & Share Everything.  Or Copy & Selectively Edit.  It’s a great way to make the most of your Stampin’ Up! catalogue!

We’re steadily making our way through the Occasions catalogue and today’s hop features the Urban Underground section of the catalogue & adjoining pages.

I love the Urban Underground suite!  One of my favourite colour combinations is yellow, white & black/gray.

This is the photo that caught my eye today…

Have close look at the card on the bottom right.

Did you know you can make a shaker pocket on a card using a cello bag?

How clever are the creative team at Stampin’ Up!???

It’s so easy to do.  Just measure your bag size, cut a piece of DSP or cardstock to fit, add your shaker pieces and seal!

You can then attach this to your card base and add all the embellishments you want.

The Urban Underground suite was designed to be blokey & masculine – and it’s great for that!!!

But, if you follow my blog, you will have seen some of my ‘girls like … too’ cards.

I thought this design would be perfect for that theme.

By changing up the tools to think & adding in traditional girly pink, this card goes from a sorry card to a tribute to a bestie!

Maybe one who has her own set of tools – because “girls like tools too”!

The loose screws & bolts in the cello bag move around as the card moves.

There’s not as much movement as a traditional shaker card – but enough to make it fun!

I decorated the inside of this card with more of the Build It Framelit die pieces.

How cool is the ruler?

This really is the easiest shaker card you’ll ever make.

So easy, that I whipped up another one in an ice cream theme.

The sprinkles punch (which has been gathering dust!) is perfect for the filling and goes great with the sentiment from the Cool Treats stamp set.

Using the Fine Tip Glue Pen, I added some swirly strawberry sauce to the ice cream.

Accidentally dropping it before it was dry added some extra texture!  I’m so impatient with waiting for things to dry!!!

The inside of this card was easy to decorate using the Tasty Treats Washi Tape.

Be sure to have a go at this style of shaker card.  You won’t believe how easy & mess free it is!!!

Please keep following the blog hop for more inspiring projects.

Next up is the gorgeous Rachel!

We’ve love for you to upload your own Urban Underground inspired creation to our Facebook page.  Join the fun!!!

Happy creating!

Mr Papercraft’s Ice Cream Van

It’s a big happy birthday to Mr Papercraft today!!!

He’s a tough customer to make cards for because his hobbies are all very similar.

Over the years, his cards have had very strong diving, fishing & boating themes.

When I saw the ice cream truck stamp set in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue, I knew this was the perfect card for 2017!

Mr P loves food made or sold from a truck!

Every festival & fair we go to, he’s in there buying ice creams and hot dogs and donuts (well, the donuts might be mine!).

{He also loves Lindt chocolate!}

Tasty Trucks is one of the free product choices during Sale-A-Bration 2017.  Yours to select with any $90 order until 31st March 2017.

I used the new Love Notes Framelits to create a money pocket at the bottom of the card and tied it all up with the new cotton ribbon.

So when the ice cream truck next cruises by, he’s gone some loose change to buy a birthday ice cream!

I am always so inspired by Judy May – her card inside are as amazing as her card fronts!

Part of my 2017 crafting resolutions is to go the extra mile on the insides of my cards!

One of the new products I’m loving from the Occasions Catalogue is the Watercolour Pencils.  They are beautiful on their own and amazing when finished with a blender pen or Aqua Painter.

For this card, I coloured using the Watercolor Pencils and went over the top with my blender pen, smoothing out the colour.

Colouring isn’t my strong point – and not something I do often, but these pencils are just a dream to use.  They make it so easy to get a good coverage!

A little more practice and I might even be a convert!

The pencils come in a cute little box, but I can see that getting ratty over time – plus it’s a little tricky to see what colours are inside.

So, I’m housing my pencils in a clear case.  They will store perfectly with my Stampin’ Write Markers and I can pop other things into the case like a Blender Pen & pencil sharpener.

If you think this would be a great way to store your pencils, then download my free printable insert by clicking here (file download via Dropbox).

The correct size for printing is 17.8cm x 14.3cm.

You can find other printable inserts for Stampin’ Write Markers & Ink Refills by searching my storage category.

If you need to purchase clear cases, you can find them in my online store.  They are great for a range of stamping storage!!!

Happy birthday wishes to Mr Papercraft!  I hope you enjoy all the stamps I bought you (hehe just kidding…maybe).
