CASEing the Catty #108 Holiday Kits

Hi there!  It’s Sunday which means the end of another weekend, the start of a new week and a CASEing the Catty blog hop!!!

Today we’re CASEing – copying & sharing everything about a card, or being inspired by the Stampin’ Up! samples in the Holiday Kits section of the catalogue.

No kit? – no worries!!!

I’m here to show you how I used the kit card samples to create similar cards using supplies I already have from the Holiday Catalogue.

These are the cards you get in the Stitched with Cheer Project Kit….

But that wasn’t on my list for this catalogue, so here are my versions using the Stitched with Cheers stamp set (which I {LOVE}) and…

#1 – Candy Cane Lane DSP, Warmth & Cheer DSP, burlap & Stitched with Cheer stamp set

This trio reminded me why I like CASEing the catalogue so much – it’s quick and easy, with the great (time consuming) design work already done for you.

If I’m honest, I kinda like my versions better because there’s no hand stitching!!!  I’m sure it’s very therapeutic – but I’m soooooo time poor at the moment, that any time saved is a bonus.

If you like the idea of stitching on your Christmas cards, then you might like to buy the kit at 40% off during the end of year Close Out Sale.

At just over $25 for 18 cards – the value in this kit is awesome!

The Stitched with Cheer stamp set ($37) is a beautiful & versatile set you’ll get lots of use out of from years to come.  I know it’s going to be a keeper in my collection!

Simple Christmas Cards from the Holiday Catalogue

As much as I love a card with lots of layers & texture, it’s also great to have some designs that are quick and easy to create when you either need a card in a hurry – or you need to make a few.

My formula for quick cards –

  1. A strip of colour – DSP, cardstock or washi tape
  2. A feature – the main shape or decoration of the card
  3. The sentiment – stamped directly on the card to minimise time & fuss
  4. The extra – add a quick ribbon, twine, bling or glitter finish

Here’s 3 cards we made at my Holiday Catalogue class on the weekend using this formula.

Santa’s Reindeer

1 – Candy Cane Lane Washi
2 – Reindeer from Santa’s Sleigh
3 – Sentiment from Santa’s Sleigh
4 – Add a glittery red nose, a red bow & wink of Stella to make the reindeer into Rudolph

Christmas Joy
