Awesomely Retired – favourites I won’t part with!

Today I’m sharing with you two cards I recently made that are classic examples of why I like to keep my some of my retired Stampin’ Up!…

  1. Punch art! Punches never go out of fashion!!!  This Spiderman punch art card uses quite a few punches that are now retired – punches that I kept, so I was pleased that I didn’thave to try to match alternatives to create the shapes.  You can find Natasha’s punch art tutorial here.  I also miss a larger text alphabet, so have kept the Perfect Print bigz dies.  And you never know when you’ll need a retired spider web embossing folder!

2. When someone asks you to make a card with very specific parameters.  This one had to be hot pink & bling for an amazing woman.  I love the Making Spirits Bright stamp set from last year’s Holiday catalogue and Painted Petals from the 2015 Occasions catalogue.  I’m holding on to both of those for some time to come!

So, the moral of today’s stamping story, is that if you think you’ll miss something from the current seasonal catalogue, make sure you order it now!  All products on the retiring list are available until 4th January 2016 or while stocks last.  I’m getting a big pile of black glimmer paper!!!

After this date there’s a whole new catalogue of wonder to fall in love with {and you will!!!}.  Kelly x

Amazingly Amazing Challenges – JAI257 & FMS180

It’s no secret that I love the inspiration that online challenges create.  After a wonderful month of guest designing over at Just Add Ink, I’m back to have fun as a player.

This week I’ve combined the JAI 257 photo inspiration (specifically the offerings at the bottom right):

with the Freshly Made Sketch of the week:

FMS Final 180-001

to create:

What a great way to end an ‘amazingly amazing’ long weekend! Kelly x

Pinterest Quickie – Lotus Blossom on a Hardwood Feature

This quick card was inspired by one of my Pinterest pins – a card by Beth Rush, which she made after being inspired by one of her Pinterest pins … and it so it goes …

I started with a Soft Suede Hardwood circle created using the masking technique.  I changed up the flower for a Melon Mambo Lotus Blossom & added the ‘Amazingly Amazing’ sentiment from Painted Petals.  Finished with my all-time favourite embellishment – Linen Thread – and this all occasion card (thank you, birthday, just because …) is done!  Kelly x

Playing with Painted Petals

I’m finishing 2014 with a sizzle – 3 cards in one post – woo hoo!!!  Thanks for all your support during the year.

During 2014, I published 237 blog posts and had over 15000 views!  It’s been so much fun to share what I love with other papercrafters around the world.

My top 3 posts were:

  1. Peppa Pig,
  2. ESAD Blog Hop – Seeing Stars
  3. Olaf Punch Art

Based on that, it’s probably no surprise that my most clicked category was Punch Art.

Most of my visitors (almost 7000!) came via search engines (thanks Mr Google) or Pinterest and they lived in Australia or USA.  Anne Barker, one of my lovely local customers, left me the most comments.

Thank you to everyone!  It’s been an amazing journey so far, that I can’t wait to continue in 2015.  Kelly x

Today’s cards feature more of the wonderful products that are coming up in the 2015 Occasions catalogue including the very beautiful Painted Petals stamp set.  Start writing your wishlist now, ordering starts 6th Jan 2015.

How many new products can you spy as I play around with the Painted Petals stamp set?

This card is based around the current Freshly Made Sketches #167 sketch.

FMS Final 167-001

This card ‘stems’ (pun intended hehe) from the leftover pieces from FMS design.  I had intended to make 2 identical cards (I often do that to save time), but had fun playing around with the pieces to create something same-same-but-different.

The laste on is my favourite – a birthday card made using the Painted Petals stamps to create a heart shaped wreath.  I had this floating around in my head since my new products arrived.  It’s ‘amazingly amazing’ when ideas translate to designs.

Did you catch all the new products?  There were 5 in total:

Note: some of the links to new products in this blog post will come up with an error until the catalogue becomes available to the general public on 6th January 2015.
