Welcome to week 12 of Social Stamping. The theme today is ‘travel’.
With three young kids in the mix at Papercraft HQ, my travel plans at this point of my life are not extensive, elaborate or far reaching. A girl can certainly dream though! On my list of places I’d like to travel are the Maldives to one of those resorts on the water, Croatia to see it’s magnificent coastline, Japan to see the cherry blossoms and Vietnam for some more South East Asian Culture. What’s on your bucket list of travel destinations?
With COVID-19 changing how we all travel for the immediate future, I’m excited about some travel around the state I live in – which is huge and a major internationally appealing travel destination, so I’m very lucky!
My project for today is inspired by the time honoured tradition of sending postcards while on holiday. Nanna Papercraft holidays more often than I do and always sends lots of postcards along the way to include us in the fun. International holiday related happy mail is always fun to receive, even if they do beat some of them back!
The stamping for this card is black heat embossing on Whisper White cardstock using the boy from the Silhouette Scenes stamp set. I love the symbolism of the boy looking into the future. I imagine him searching for the great adventures that lie ahead.
I used my Stamparatus so I could get the boy in the same place on every panel. The panels are coloured with different inks (Real Red, Bermuda Bay & Crushed Curry) and splattered with water to add some texture.
This is the reverse side that turns it into a postcard…
How awesome are the Swirly Frames stamps for creating a postcard theme!!!
I feel like this might be the start of a new phase! Postcards are fun to send through the mail because not just the recipient gets to enjoy them on the way!
To see more travel projects, keep hopping through the great projects ahead, starting with my gorgeous friend Nicole Wilson. You can see the full list of participants by visiting the main blog post.
Thanks for joining us today – I hope you enjoyed the journey!
