Everything is Rosy for the last time….

Happy last day of autumn!  We’ve had some truly glorious weather here in the South West of WA.  It’s been sunny & clear during the day with cool nights – so very changing of the seasons, ready for winter’s onset tomorrow.

Today is also the last day you can order the Everything is Rosy suite.  This limited edition product medley has been available during May 2019 – and what a fabulous suite of products!  Only available as a bundle, it’s packed with next-level supplies to be able to create beautiful projects.  You get a stamp & coordinating die set, DSP, ribbon, foil, printed die cuts, mirrored embellishments & shimmer paint.  Click here to see all the info in detail or click here to view it in the online store.

For the very last time on my blog, here’s the Everything is Rosy medley in action…

Everything is Rosy | kelly kent

This medley was designed with the avid crafter in mind – someone who loves their Stampin’ Up! products, crafts often and has a stash of other products at home they can mix & match with their Everything is Rosy supplies.  I’ve added in the large heart from the Be Mine Stitched Dies.

Everything is Rosy | kelly kent

I’ve kept with the suite colours of pink & blue, but changed up the pink from Melon Mambo to Rococo Rose (coming soon) and Blushing Bride.  The foil is Champagne (you’ll find this in the Annual Catalogue) and I’ve popped some silver thread in there too.  I love the mix of subtle metallics!

Shimmer paint is my new favourite love.  The shimmer is out of this world and it dries quickly, so it’s easy to use.  You can see it on this card in the little leaves (stamped using Rose Gold), on the pearls (applied with a dry Aqua Painter in Champagne Mist) and on the large leaves (applied with a wet Aqua Painter in Champagne Mist).  You can also spritz it, heat emboss with it, flick it – and so much more!!!  Champagne Mist & Frost White are returning products in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue, but if you *NEED* to have Rose Gold in your collection, it’s only available in the Everything is Rosy medley.  Don’t miss out on this limited edition colour!  Click here to order via my online store.

Have a lovely weekend!  I hope it’s filled with all the things that make you happy and the weather suits your activities.  I love the Billy Connelley quote about there being no such thing as bad weather, just bad choice of clothes!  PJs & crafting with the rain falling outside sounds like the perfect weekend to me!!!

Colour INKspiration #55

Hello!  We have a fabulous colour challenge for you this week at Colour INKspiration.  There’ s a blog hop to enjoy and then all the action for the challenge happens in our Facebook group. Click here to visit and share your creation with us.

You may have hopped here from the gorgeous Lisa Whitehead who won challenge #53 and joins us as a guest designer.

Here’s the colours for challenge #55…

Image may contain: bedroom and indoor

You can use 3 or more of these colours in your project.

I went all out and used all 6 plus white & black as we can include basics (white, black & vanilla) and metallics.

A large part of the inspiration for my card came from the challenge photo.  I used the clouds to create the background and the Grapefruit Grove cushion to inspire the styling of the hot air balloon.

Lift Me Up | kelly kent

It was so hard to photograph the background but it’s crazy shimmery!  I used Shimmery White cardstock for my base and then added a mix of Isocol (alcohol), reinker and shimmer paint.  My first attempt at a major fail – sprtizing using a mask doesn’t work!  All the colour seeped under the mask and I got blobs rather than clouds.

The second attempt was much better applying the colour with a sponge and I got these pretty clouds.  One mix was Coastal Cabana & Frost White Shimmer Paint and the second was Smoky Slate & Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.

Lift Me Up | kelly kent

It’s hard to capture just how pretty it is!

I used the remaining challenge colours under the balloon – cut by the Up & Away Framelits.

Lift Me Up | kelly kent

The sentiment is from the Lift Me Up stamp set.  I white heat embossed on Rich Razzleberry and Grapefruit Grove cardstock and then roughly snupped with scissors.  I love chopping up sentiments like this!

Lift Me Up | kelly kent

I had so much fun with these colours!  It was the perfect challenge to prompt me to put different colours together than my normal combinations!

Next up on the blog hop is my gorgeous friend Lou Kitzelman in QLD.

Thanks for hopping with us!

Just Add Ink #451 | Inspiration

Hello!  It’s been a quiet week on the blog, so I’m excited to have snuck in some craft time to be able to share a Just Add Ink card with you.

It’s a photo inspiration challenge – chosen by Jo..   Does that photo make you want to drop everything and spend the morning (or day) sipping on tea at the cafe???

I pulled together elements from the card to make a peekaboo style birthday card.

It’s plain on the front – inspired by the Mint Macaron wooden windows and chalkboard menu…

And then opens up…

…. to reveal the birthday message!

Barn Door | kelly kent

I used magnets to help with a good close when flat.

The shimmery sentiment was achieved by using several inkings & the Stamparatus.  I first stamped the whole stamp in Blushing Bride.  Then I added Flirty Flamingo across the middle of the stamp with a sponge dauber and then Lovely Lipstick across the bottom before restamping on top of the Blushing Bride image.  And finally, I added Frost White Shimmer Paint directly to the stamp with a sponge dauber before stamping a third time.

Barn Door | kelly kent

This card was so much fun to make!  I’m not sure I’ve made anything previously with the Barn Door bundle, but it was perfect for my vision for the photo inspiration.

We’d love for you to join us over at the Just Add Ink blog.  Check out what the other design team members have made and add your own crafty project to the link up to enter the challenge.

See you for the next challenge!

Colour INKspiration #42

Sneaking in time at the craft table has been a little challenging when trying to fit in with a newborn schedule!

I made it work though so I could play along with the gorgeous colours for Colour INKspiration this week.

Image may contain: indoor

With copper shimmer paint already on the table, and a tight time schedule, I chose to build upon the theme I used for Gayle’s bronze elite congratulations card.  You can see that card by clicking here.

Here is my challenge card….

Happy Birthday | kelly kent

I kept the Subtle embossing folder background and leaf edging and added in a Basic Black (sprayed with copper shimmer paint) happy birthday sentiment.  The leaves I used as an embellishment were cut using a new punch available in the Holiday Catalogue (Sprig Punch) – you can never have too many options for decorative leaves!

If you have crafty time this weekend, add your own copper, mint, white & black creation to the Colour INKspiration challenge page.  Entries close on Monday 8th October.

When I’m time poor, I find the best way to create ‘in bulk’ is to make the same design in a few different colours.  This was also a great way to try out more of the shimmer paints.

Celebrating with Shimmer Paint + Clear Case Insert

I {LOVE} new products – especially accessories!

They breathe new life into all the products you already have.

One of the new ranges I was most excited about in the Holiday Catalogue was Shimmer Paints.  For some long term Stampin’ Up! addicts, these are a ‘returning’ product as some colours were previously available in the range.  For me, they are a totally new toy to play with.

There’s 4 colours – Bright Copper, Champagne Mist, Frost White & Vegas Gold.

You can start with one, or add all four!

I went into shimmer overload for this card to celebrate one of my Paper Adventures teamies promoting to Bronze Elite.  She now gets a bigger discount on all her Stampin’ Up! spending!  Congratulations Gayle!

This card features the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint.

Shimmer Paint | kelly kent

It’s nearly impossible to get photos that do any shimmer product justice!  I tried – but this card is best seen in person!

Shimmer Paint | kelly kent

There’s three different ways I’ve used the shimmer paint on this card

  • applied to cardstock with a sponge dauber (“YOU” die cut)
  • misted to the card base using alcohol (Isocol) and shimmer paint in a Stampin’ Spritzer
  • Applied directly to the stamp and used as an ink

Shimmer Paint | kelly kent

Each colour of shimmer paint will give a different effect.  You can mix the shimmer paint with ink refills to create a coloured shimmer.  Or swirl 2 shimmer paints together for a frosted marble look.  The possibilities are endless!

When you order your shimmer paints (click here to visit the online store), make sure you have sponge daubers and spritzers in your collection – or make sure to add these products to your order as well.  They make using shimmer paints so easy!!!  Isocol is available from the medicinal section of Coles, Woolworths or your local supermarket.  Look for the bright green bottle.

As usual, the Stampin’ Up! Clear Cases make the perfect storage solution. All 4 shimmer paints (and their sponge dauber partners) fit into a half stamp case.  Click here to see this product in the online store.
