6″ Mini Album | Share What You Love DSP

Last week a very special friend of mine turned 40 and hosted a fabulous party. I wanted to make a bespoke keepsake that could double as gift and a place to keep her party memories.

This made it the perfect opportunity to make my first mini-album.  I’ve been wanting to do this for quite some time and I’m so glad I finally got there!!!  My love of mini albums started when Jacqui Crouch made one for my 5th stampaversary blog hop – and then posted it to me as a gift.  It still has pride of place on my shelf and I love it!

Between a combination of studying Jacqui’s album design, watching you tube tutorials and winging it, this was my final result…

The album cover is 6″ and the pages are approx 5-3/4″.  The whole album is constructed from scratch using the firm cardboard packaged with glimmer paper.  I found this you tube tutorial particularly helpful.

The album contains 12 pages decorated with Share What You Love DSP,.  There’s a mix of fixed photo spaces, cascading photo spaces and photo pages that side out from a belly band.

This is a video showing the whole album –

Of course every amazing gift needs a coordinating card.

Pull Out Side Pocket Card | kelly kent

I used the same style of card as I shared with you during the week – it’s call a Pull Out Side Pocket Card.  You can find the previous post with instructions and links by clicking here.

Large Numbers Framelits and Milestone Moments that I used for the album & card are now retired – but they are staple parts of my crafting stash and it’ll take a good replacement option before I part with them!

Stampin’ Up! currently only sell packs of 12″ cardstock in Whisper White and Very Vanilla.  The Kraft cardstock I used for the album & card is an alternative brand.

I’m already planning my next album – the question is… which DSP???  What current or retired DSP do you think would make an amazing album design?

CASEing the Catty #214 | Sale-A-Bration

If you’ve been tracking school holiday fun here at Papercraft HQ, then it’s my sad news to tell you that school goes back tomorrow!   I really enjoy school holidays – fun activities, lazy mornings and summer fun!  But all good things must come to an end!

The kids are super excited – and I am too about the potential concept of more craft time during the day!!!  And being a touch more organised with two of the three Little Papercrafts out of the house!!!

No photo description available.

I missed the deadline for sign up this week’s CASEing the Catty – but thanks to the lovely Kathryn Mangelsdorf whose blog you may have just visited, I snuck in at the last minute to share this cute little gift set I made for a friend.

Share What You Love Tea Pot Gift Set | kelly kent

I drew inspiration from a number of sources for the inside & outside of the gift set!

The calendar and gift box styling are CASEd from my ESAD Blog Hop projects.  See here for the original designs.

Share What You Love Tea Pot Gift Set | kelly kent

I filled the box with tea pot note cards inspired by a gorgeous project I saw by Dee Copus-Read – see her teapots here

Share What You Love Tea Pot Gift Set | kelly kent

The teapot styling was CASEd from this photo in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue…

I have been admiring the colouring of the striped teapot since the SAB catalogue landed on my desk!  I don’t have the artistic touch required for such amazing watercolouring.  If you’d like to have a go – Alisa Tilsner made a great tutorial – click here to visit.

Instead, I used a tip shared by Artisan Design Team member – Emma Goddard.  Emma simply used an Aqua Painter to draw stripes across the cardstock before she stamped with the tea pot & cut with the die.  Easy but amazing!  I swiped left and then right across each line so I could get some variation in colour profile – and this suited my natural technique of uneven colour application!!

Share What You Love Tea Pot Gift Set | kelly kent

I used this technique in 3 different colours to suit the DSP colours (2 of each) plus on the back of the 3″ envelopes.  It’s a snug fit, but the teapots can be convinced to sit nicely in the envelopes (which is perfect!).

Share What You Love Tea Pot Gift Set | kelly kent

To turn the teapots into note cards, I simply folded my Whisper White cardstock in half before die cutting.  I then used by Stamparatus – set up with a carefully placed template – to stamp the teapot image.

I love the collaboration of this project – all the ideas I’d seen from Stampin’ Up! and other demonstrators sharing online – helped me to create something special.  And now here I am sharing with you.  It reflected the share what we love so well!

Thank you for joining me today!  And again to Kathryn!

There’s a full supply list at the end of this post with links to the online store for easy shopping.  The fabulous teapot framelits are available as a Sale-A-Bration redemption with any $180+ order.  Don’t forget to add the Tea Together stamp set (page 49) to your order to own the coordinating set.

Speaking of coordinating sets – did you see that lots more of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets will have coordinating dies available in March!!!  I’ll post more details during the week.

Next up you are off to visit Shannon Kissane and her cute canine creation!

Please join us on the CASEing the Catty Facebook page to join the challenge by sharing your catalogue inspired project.

See you next week!

For all my WA followers with children starting school tomorrow, I hope it’s a smooth transition for you & your family!

Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop | Baby & Kids

Paper Adventures - Blog Hop Header

Hello & thanks for joining us for the August Paper Adventures team hop.

The theme tonight is Babies & Kids and our fabulous guest designer is Rochelle Blok.

Babies and kids seemed like an obvious theme for a hop this year with so many of our team having babies & children, nieces & nephews or being amazing grandparents.

I often own most of this section of the catalogue and always love seeing the new sets available with each launch.  One of the fun new additions to the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue is the Treehouse Adventures stamp set.

You have all the piece you need in this set to create a super cute treehouse -in whatever colours you like.  The builder stamps are designed to ink up in separate colours, making it easy to put your treehouse together.

I’ve mounted my treehouse on one of my favourite fancy fold designs – a Pop Up Slider card.

The middle panel slides up…

And down again…

Treehouse Adventures | kelly kent

So it goes flat into an envelope for giving or posting, but is still super fun for the recipient.  It’s always great to add an element of fun into kids cards!

Treehouse Adventures | kelly kent

The colours for my treehouse are Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie & Real Red with Early Espresso accents.

The tree is Old Olive & Pear Pizzazz with a Crumb Cake trunk.

The DSP is from the Share What You Love suite – sometimes the reverse side of DSP designs are just perfect for something different from the usual suite.

Treehouse Adventures | kelly kent

I just love making this style of card – and they really aren’t as hard as they look!  It’s all about the sizing, which you can find on my blog – click here to visit.

It’s a small but quality Paper Adventures hop today.  Those babies & kids are keeping the team busy!!!

I know you’re going to love what our guest designer – the oh-so-talented Rochelle Blok – has created  Click on the next button below to visit.

Thanks for joining us!

Sharing What We Love

Year by year, our Paper Adventures team continues to grow as Stampin’ Up! loving crafters join the journey.  Some jump in feet first knowing they are going to love it.  Some take a little longer, but most of our team stay for a while to enjoy the team environment, fantastic discount and perks of being a demonstrator.

We celebrated another success in the team last month when Mary promoted to Bronze Elite. Mary’s 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue wishlist just became an even better deal with a 25% discount on all the Stampin’ Up! she orders.

I celebrate all the successes my team have with a card and gift.  This is the card I made for Mary using everyone’s favourite May pre-release suite – Share What You Love.

Share What You Love | kelly kent

I added in the new Stitched Labels Framelits (available to demonstrators on pre-order now, and to customers from 1st June 2018) – they are oh-so-special!!!

Stitched Labels Framelits | kelly kent

And since Mary couldn’t make it to our demonstrator class last week, I made a Statement of the Heart frame for her craft room.

If you’d like your very own discount, demonstrator perks and belonging to a wonderful group of stampers, then join our Paper Adventures team.  It’s a wonderful risk-free opportunity #nothingtolose.

Kelly’s Stamping Friends – Birthday Blog Hop A

No automatic alt text available.

Hello!  It’s my birthday and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than a blog hop with my fabulous stamping friends.

Actually, I’m feeling very loved on my birthday evening as I hop with two wonderful groups of stamping friends.

This is blog hop A – the first list.  There’s another thread which features blog hop B – the second list (click here to visit).  You don’t want to miss the creations on the other side!!!

There’s no theme for tonight.  Everyone is simply sharing with us something they’ve made that they love.  In this crazy busy life, we sometimes need an excuse just to create for fun, for love and to be creative.

My birthday falls at a wonderful time of the Stampin’ Up! catalogue cycle.  I get to spoil myself each year with new Stampin’ Up! and call them birthday presents.

The card I am sharing for blog hop A uses some of those birthday presents – Share What You Love DSP, Hand Delivered (Host) stamp set & Lined Alphabet stamp set.

Hand Delivered Pop Up Slider Card | kelly kent

This style of card is called a Pop Up Slider Card and I first saw it for my birthday a couple of years ago when Nicole Wilson sent one to me!

The middle panel slides up to reveal a hidden message in the centre.

Hand Delivered Pop Up Slider Card | kelly kent

For this card, I added to the birthday message using the Lined Alphabet stamp set messily coloured (to match the style of the DSP) using the Stampin’ Blends.

Hand Delivered Pop Up Slider Card | kelly kent

The balloons are also coloured with the Blends.  Currently they are unorderable, but they’ll be back soon with new colours in the collection!!!  I’m excited to get my hands on those!

Hand Delivered Pop Up Slider Card | kelly kent

This special card will be going to my birthday buddy – my mother-in-law!

Do you have a birthday buddy?  Someone you share your celebrations with every year?

Many thank you to all my stamping friends who have joined me today to share in my celebrations through this hop!

Next up on hop A is my stamping bestie – Lou Kitzelman.  So happy she’s part of my birthday!

Share What You Love Blog Hop

Hello!  I hope your weekend was fabulous!

I’m hopping today with a group of my lovely stamping friends.  Thanks to Leonie Schroder for bringing us all together.

We have all been getting crafty with the pre-release suite – Share What You Love and will be sharing projects we’ve been making with this gorgeous suite.  It appears in the upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue, but for the month of May, you can purchase three bundles featuring products from this new suite.

You’re going to love it – the designs, patterns and colours are beautiful!  There’s 3 products bundles available to purchase (see all the info at the end of this post).

Here’s some sweet projects I created with the Love What You Do stamp set, Pearlised Doilies, Share What You Love DSP, Share What You Love Pearls & Lovely Floral Embossing Folder – with some of my favourite colours!

The first card features the oh-so-pretty DSP (my favourite part of the suite) with a new In Color – Grapefruit Grove.

Share What You Love | kelly kent

The second card is a mix of the gorgeous DSP and stamps from the Love What You Do stamp set.  The sentiments in this set lend themselves so nicely to the current trend of fussy cutting around the words.

Share What You Love | kelly kent

The final card features the Lovely Floral Embossing Folder – gorgeous just as it is, or you can add some colour by brushing with your ink pad.  This is White Craft ink on Crumb Cake cardstock.

Share What You Love | kelly kent

There’s so much to love about this suite!!!
