Hello! Hope you’ve had a great week.
Welcome other CASEing the Catty blog hop where we show you creations that have been inspired by the pages of the Stampin’ Up! catalogues.
Today we’re being inspired by the Sale-A-Bration catalogue for the second last time. There’s just over 2 weeks until your chance to earn Sale-A-Bration products is finished for another year!
If you see anything you like, Sale-A-Bration rewards in Australia are earned with any $90 purchase until 31st March 2017!
Along the blog hop today you’ll find projects that were inspired by pages 16-19 of the SAB catalogue.
This the one that caught my eye on page 18…
I took the box in the middle and used the key elements to changed it into a kids birthday card!
I just love the Happy Birthday stamp from Designer Tee!
Can you see the design parallels?
The blue horizontal stripy panel, happy birthday stick, ribbon & twine feature, a blue, white & yellow main element and the touches of gold were all carryovers from the original sample.
I love how this turned out and have already used it for a sweet little 3rd birthday card.
Next up on the hop is the lovely Rebecca Scurr –

How gorgeous is this photo inspiration for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge?
As you’ll see with the design team projects, there’s lot to take from such a vibrant & fun picture!
This photo sat with me for a moment, while my mojo took it’s time to kick in.
But in a flash of inspiration, I decided I’d use the lady as a key layout element and turn the photo into a sketch!
I kept the water ripples as a background element but added in an ombre pattern by layering Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise & Bermuda Bay in the Seaside Embossing Folder.
The main element is the new Star Blast Edgelit die. I’m having lots of fun using this!
I added in a few of my other new products too.
- Happy Birthday sentiment from one of the hostess stamp sets in the Occasions catalogue – Iconic Occasions
- Sale-A-Bration Metallic Ribbon
- Urban Underground Washi Tape
There’s lots to be tempted by in the new catalogue!!!
Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team cards by visiting the Just Add Ink blog.
We’d love to see you join in too. Upload your project inspired by the photo using the linky tool on the blog.
I made this card for a soccer-loving teenager.
You are never too old for cards that spin!
I didn’t want the whole circle that the framelit in the Sliding Star Framelits gives, so I just cut to the half way point.
And I thought it would be a good mini-tutorial to share with you.
This works for any framelit where you only want to cut part of it.
The simple science is that you put the edge of the top plate at the point that you want it to stop cutting. And then roll through as usual.
The Big Shot cuts what is under the 2 plates and leaves the other part of the framelit uncut.
To finish it off, I snipped the edge of the semi-circle it created and made my spinner card as usual (with a soccer ball from the Silhouette Design store).
Too easy! You can now add another spinner ‘shape’ to your reportoire.
This tutorial also work for other shapes such as circles, butterflies & labels to create partial cuts on your cards & projects.
Thanks to the persistence of my lovely friend Liz, I am writing to you from a weekend craft retreat!!!!
I finally made it! And I’m so so excited to be here.
This is one of tonight’s creations using my new purchases from the By The Shore suite.
Looking forward to what tomorrow will bring! I don’t think I’ve ever had this much continuous time at the craft table ever!!!
Made using the new Sweet Cupcake bundle, this birthday gift set is a gluten-free, dairy-free & calorie-free scrumptious delight!
Buy the stamps & framelits as a bundle & save 10%!
There’s 3 steps to the icing & cake wrapper elements which creates a wonderfully 3-D effect.
This cupcake is Blushing Bride, Sweet Sugarplum & Rich Razzleberry with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.
The wrapper/paper (what do you actually call it?) is Soft Suede & Crumb Cake (stamped off for the bottom layer).
Can you spot the other new products I’ve used for this card???
There’s the Layering Circles Framelits, Seaside embossing folder & Classic Label punch. Oh, and my very favourite Sweet Sugarplum cardstock!!!
Once my card was made, I wanted a little something to pop in the envelope to make it a birthday gift. And that little something was a bookmark.
I like it when things are all matchy-matchy, so I kept with the Sweet Sugarplum, Blushing Bride & Silver glimmer colour theme. Plus the same Seaside embossing folder background, but I added the flower from the Sunshine Wishes thinlit set.
But no birthday sentiment on this one. I masked out the ‘you’ on the stamp and just inked up ‘happiness’. Punched it out with the Classic Label punch and snipped off the ends!
Sometimes it’s the little ‘hacks’ that makes for clever crafting. Do you have a great tip – leave me a comment & share your genius!
