CASEing the Catty #121 Sale-A-Bration

Welcome to CASEing the Catty #121 – our final hop featuring the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

That’s right!  As of the end of this month, Sale-A-Bration 2017 will be finished and there won’t be any further chances to redeem Sale-A-Bration products.

There’s lots to choose from across 3 releases – see the gallery at the end of this post for all the choices.

You’re going to love the projects the crew are sharing today.

My CTC projects were a little multi-taskng opportunity.

I caught up with a fabulous friend this weekend who asked me to bring along any blank / no sentiment cards I had lying around.  I was under strict instructions not to make any extra work for myself.

I completely followed those instructions – and created these lovely sentiment free cards for her as part of my CASEing the Catty requirements.

Sneaky – huh?

I love a ‘no sentiment’ card, so these were super fun to make.

What did I CASE you ask???

Well, it was the 2nd release flyer that was part of my plan, since I haven’t yet featured this in a CTC post.

Specifically, the cards on the front cover…

From those samples, to these inspired creations…

The first card used the doily feature, watercolour centrepiece & some of the pieces from Carosels & Cupcakes stamp set.

The next card uses the Stylish Stems Framelits along a centre panel with some of the Sale-A-Bration glimmer paper as a feature.

And the final card uses the sketch layout from the card – but in a monochromatic Night of Navy & Whisper White theme (with a touch of burlap / Kraft).

I can’t pick a favourite… can you?

With Sale-A-Bration nearing to an end, it’s time to stock up on any of your basics and/or buy the items on your wishlist.

Get Your Glimmer before it’s G-O-N-E!!!

There’s a wee bit of panic in the US at the moment because their stocks of the beautiful 6×6″ glimmer paper in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue have run out!

This is one of my all-time favourite SAB gifts!!!

We still have some in the Australian warehouse, but I can’t guarantee how long it will last!

If *have* to have some, then you’ll need to place an order ASAP!  It’s free with every $90 spent.

I’m doing an order tomorrow evening – let me know if you’d like to add anything.

Or, if you want to get in today (just to be sure), then shop online.  Use the host code: BCXWWYKA to qualify for another free gift from me!

This glittery cardstock really is stunning!

It comes in Bermuda Bay…

Sweet Sugarplum…

And Mint Macaron….

Three colours I find it hard to resist!

If you’re going to be sad to miss out on this Sale-A-Bration item – or any other – then don’t leave your order til the last week of March!

They are only available while stocks last or until 31st March 2017 – whichever comes first!!!

ESAD Blog Hop – SAB 2017 Last Chance

ESAD Blog Hop SAB Last Chance 2017

It’s another full week of blog hops & design team projects – woo hoo!

I’m excited to start with the ESAD Last Chance Sale-A-Bration 2017 Blog Hop.

ESAD Information

Prepared to be amazed as the demonstrators on this hop show you great ideas on how to get the most out of your Sale-A-Bration products.

Or, tempted to buy a bit more of your wishlist, just so you can earn another choice!

There’s 13 available – 10 in the first release and 3 in the second release.

I love so many of the products, but I’ve definitely been dazzled by the 6×6″ assorted glimmer paper.

How could I not? It’s in my favourite colours!!!

Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron & Sweet Sugarplum!

You get 4 sheets of each colour- and although glimmer is traditionally used sparingly, when it’s this good, you’ve got to splash it about!

So I’ve used it to create 3 repetitive shape patterns.

And pretty hearts for the Sweet Sugarplum.

I’ve used the glimmer colours to stamp matching sentiments for each card and some ribbon to finish it off!

Wouldn’t it be amazing if these colours appeared in the next Stampin’ Up! catalogue?

A girl can always hope!

The next stop on this inspiring hop is Courtenay Heuston.  You’re going to love what she’s created!

Just Add Ink #347 Colour Combination

Just Add Ink Design Team

It’s all about colour this week for the Just Add Ink challenge as we create to this little colour quartet dreamt up by Kim.

Just Add Ink #347

Regals are my least used colour story in the Stampin’ Up! collection.

So, this combo with 2 ‘subtles’ and two regals was definitely a challenge for me.

But, as luck would have it, inspiration struck as I picked up my bag to go out…

Just Add Ink #347 - inspiration photo. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

What if, the Lucky Elephant, wasn’t a solid colour – but fabulously floral – like my bag!

And from there, it all flowed!

{LOVE MY BAG? It was a custom creation many moons ago by Kylie at Sew Fun by Kylie.  I think it’s time for a wash!!!}

One of my favourite Brisbane OnStage presentations was by Angela Meiritz-Reid who had all kinds of wonderful ideas for using the elephant from the Occasions catalogue.

This is one of them – outlining the elephant shape with a marker, rather than inking it up.

Just Add Ink #347. Lucky Elephant. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I then stamped it onto the Inside the Lines DSP, and using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker, I followed the faint markings to create an elephant outline.

Just Add Ink #347. Lucky Elephant. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

From there, it was a matter of colouring the DSP using the challenge colours…

Just Add Ink #347. Lucky Elephant. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Then snipping it out and adding the beautiful elephant to a card!

Just Add Ink #347. Lucky Elephant. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I had so much fun colouring my elephant, I decided to make another version – but this time with touches of gold!

Using gold embossing powder, I added a gold caparison to his back.

Never heard of a caparison?  That’s what the blanket on the back of an elephant, horse or donkey is called!

Just Add Ink #347. Lucky Elephant. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

The whole card…

My tip for colouring with the Regals is to try using an Aqua Painter rather than the markers.  It provides a lighter, softer shade of the same colour.

Please join us with your creation by visiting the Just Add Ink blog.

You can also check out the creativity of the awesome design team.

If you need to place an order to add some of the fabulous Inside the Lines paper (free with any $90 purchase), head over to my online store.  Shop all for your favourites plus Sale-A-Bration rewards will apply until 31st March 2017.

CASEing the Catty #115 Sale-A-Bration

12371218_10153736740662158_9102306381153319857_o

Sunday again – they come around quickly!!!  I hope your weekend was fabulous!

Thanks for checking in with me tonight for the weekly CASEing the Catty Sunday blog hop.

Hopefully you’ve joined our new Facebook page and are following all the wonderful projects that fellow crafters have been uploading.

This week we are CASEing (copying and sharing everything or copying and selectively editing – depending on which you prefer!) the Sale-A-Bration catalogue again.

There’s so much goodness in there!  Did you see that there’s 3 new Sale-A-Bration items you can redeem from 21st Feb???  Check out the graphic at the end of this post for a sneaky peak at them!

CASEing the Catty #115

As you follow this hop around, you’ll find projects made by the CTC Crew that were inspired by the sample photos on pages 8-11 of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

One of my favourite Sale-A-Bration samples is the wedding card on the left below – made with the Delicate Details stamp set.  I love the styling & colours!

Images © Stampin' Up!

It’s hard to improve on perfection, but I had a go at MITMO ‘making it my own’ – do you love this variation on the idea of CASEing (thanks to Deborah Harris for sharing it!).

I combined it with the Cupcakes & Carousels embellishment pack – the gold foil die cuts are out of this world for loveliness and the ribbon is ombre!!!

Here is my version…

CASEing the Catty #115 - Sale-A-Bration. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I changed the sentiment so that I could use the card personally – it was too sweet to end up in my ‘for later’ or ‘for sale’ card stashes!

“All Things Thanks” was a stamp set I bought as a bit of an indulgence, but I’ve gotten so much use out of it!  The stamps are quite detailed, but if I just need a ‘thanks’ or ‘thank you’ I mask out the specific detail with masking tape and carry on stamping!  I’ve even cut one of the stamps into two pieces!

Next up on the hop is the fabulous creativity of Elizabeth Gross

1931443_10153736740697158_8641773008449326149_n

Please join us with your creation inspired by pages 8-11 of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.  Remember, you don’t have to have the products on these pages.  You can copy a layout, be inspired by an embellishment, love the colours or adapt the design to suit what you have.

Being inspired by the catalogues is one of the best ways to start your creative process!  Try it – you never know where you’ll end up!!!

Stamp Review Crew – Sale-A-Bration 2017

2017-sab-banner

Hello!  Today you’ve joined us for a bonus hop with the Stamp Review Crew.

The Crew will be sharing creations that highlight stamp sets from the 2017 Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

It’s a ‘free for all’ – so I can’t wait to see the variety on this international showcase.

I’m highlighting the Tasty Trucks stamp set – it’s so fun & cute!!!

I’ve already made a food truck or 2 with this set (and used the sentiments lots!).

Since I love looking for alternative uses within a stamp set, especially on SRC hops, I’ve thought outside the box and created 3 ideas that will help you to get the most from Tasty Trucks.

#1 – Birthday Banners

Don’t forget about the little stamps in set.  They often make great backgrounds – like this colourful & bright banner card.

Stamp Review Crew - Sale-A-Bration 2017: Tasty Trucks. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

#2 – Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Miss Papercraft got invited to a teddy bear’s picnic birthday party – what a cool theme!!!

I’ve paired the tasty food stamps with the bear from Cookie Cutter Christmas (which is still available in my online store) and the gingham pattern from Succulent Garden DSP.

Stamp Review Crew - Sale-A-Bration 2017: Tasty Trucks. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

#3 – Vintage Caravan Goodbye

I’ve been seeing some great adaptations of the food truck into other things, which got me thinking – it’s almost a caravan…

With a few alterations, this is my version of a vintage campervan…

Stamp Review Crew - Sale-A-Bration 2017: Tasty Trucks. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I hope you enjoyed my ideas for the Tasty Trucks stamp set.

My projects form part of a blog hop, so continue on to see what Charlene has made using her Sale-A-Bration goodies.

2017-sab-next

If there’s a broken link anywhere along the hop, head back to the main page, where you’ll find a full list of participants.

Have a great day – I hope it involves stamping (or tasty treats!).
