Hello! Thanks for joining us for a Paper Adventures Team Hop. The theme today is banners and we welcome my gorgeous friend, and fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Melissa Gifford as our guest designer. I can’t wait for you to hop around and see what banner styles everyone has used!
I made this card a little while ago for a gorgeous new baby. Don’t you just love the name???
It was made to coordinate with the gift – a personalised towel embroidered by local company Dalyellup Designs.
Sticking to my mantra this year to let my creativity not be limited by current vs retired, this card features a mix of things you can find in the current Stampin’ Up! catalogues and products from the archives.
The banner die and awesome lettering are both from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. I’m sure you’d believe me when I share that I bought the Tasteful Labels Dies just for that stitched banner – it was an instant crush! The letters with the Foam Adhesive Sheets for extra pop are from the Playful Alphabet Dies – one of the must haves from the catalogue. The embossing folder is a new pattern from the Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalogue – Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folders (skinny duo combo packs).
On the retired side we have a super cute giraffe from the Zoo Babies stamp set, darling baby sentiment from the Fable Friends stamp set, Whisper White Baker’s Twine and Dressed to Impress DSP. No point in keeping favourites if you’re not going to use them -right!?!
I really loved this design so I made a “BABY” version using yellow tones.
The congrats sentiment is from the Many Mates stamp set.
If you don’t already have the Playful Alphabet Dies, Foam Adhesive Sheets and Tasteful Labels Dies, you can purchase them in my online store – click here to visit.
For more great projects and I’m sure more temptation for the wishlist, please keep hopping and visit Melissa Gifford, our guest designer.
Have a great weekend!
Life is chilly (and wet on some days) in the south-west corner of Australia at the moment. Which makes it perfect crafting weather. I confess to a few pyjama days lately spent at the craft table! And perhaps plans for a few more!
Thanks for joining me tonight for CASEing the Catty where we take inspiration from the pages of the Stampin’ Up! catalogue.
This week it’s the Best Route suite and subsequent pages.
I seem to make a lot of baby cards for challenges! This one was inspired by the pink dreamcatcher card on page 54.
The card is going to the parents of a little princess born during the week, so I kept the pretty Blushing Bride colour scheme.
Other colours in this card are silver embossing & foil, Blushing Bride watercolouring on Shimmery White and Rose Glimmer paper (new & improved).
The Follow Your Dreams stamp set & coordinating Chase Your Dreams Framelits are beautiful!
I added the Tufted Embossing Folder to the background layer – which I had previously overlooked in the catalogue, but quickly added because it’s gorgeous!!!
The personalised name pennant was made using the Pick a Pennant stamp set and that beautiful ribbon you see is from the Metallic Ribbon combo pack.
Make sure to join the CTC fun on our Facebook page. CASEing the Catty can either be your easiest or most deluxe card of the week.
Next up you’re visiting the lovely Megan Lenkse in sunny QLD!
As a demonstrator, I love the period of catalogue transition! Twice as many Stampin’ Up! products to love at the same time. I can make projects to share with retiring & carryover items, as well as share sneak peeks of the wonderful things to come.
It’s a good chance to remind you to place an order for any of the items from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue & 2018 Occasions Catalogue that you’ll miss – stock up on paper, refills, DSP and make sure you own favourite stamp sets, dies, punches & accessories. Once we hit the evening of 31st May 2018, all the items on the retirement / last chance list will disappear from the online store.
From 10am (WA time) on 1st June 2018, the new catalogue items will be available to order!!! Yay!
This sweet little card uses a mix of retiring items and a new stamp set that will join us on Friday.
Joining us soon….

Click here to browse the online store and triple check you’ve ordered all your retiring favourites.
Next on my crafty agenda today is cutting up cardstock and printing labels for these divine little colour swatches, ready to send to everyone who placed an order last week. Our Paper Adventures team is growing…. our new little recruit is just 2 weeks old!
Congratulations to Coriana, one of our Paper Adventures team, who added the beautiful baby Eva to her family earlier in the month.
I wanted to make a personalised card for our newest team member, to go with her super cute gift – a Paper Adventures onesie!!!
My clever friend Briony makes personalised clothing, so when I needed a one-of-a-kind gift, I knew just where to get one from!
The card is cute but elegant, just like baby Eva!
Eva will have to wait until she’s 18 to officially join our Paper Adventures team, but you can join now!
Take advantage of the Christmas in July joining special to get $187 of amazing extras with your starter kit.

One of the cutest new stamp sets from the new catalogue is “A Little Wild”.
It’s only a little wild because really it’s just super cute!
The stamps have a front & a back of each animal – and matching dies to make them into tags!
I can see all kinds of uses for this bundle, but this week I just used the cute little elephant to create a personalised baby card.
I gave my lightbox another go to take these photos only to decide that I’ve been totally spoilt by natural light in the past few months!
So, I think it’ll be back to my wood table & brick wall for the rest of this week!
The elephant is my favourite stamp from this set – so perfect for new little people!
She’s a little shy looking with closed eyes, but with a Stampin’ Write Marker, I was able to open her up with bright eyes!
I used one of the cute sentiments in the stamp set to add some prettiness to the inside too! And another elephant – and some of the gorgeous new washi tape!
So many pretties!
I love gray as a coordinating colour! Gray & pink, and gray and yellow are two of my favourite baby combinations!
I’ve got more ‘wild’ projects to share with you later in the week – sparked by an idea I saw on Pinterest!
How many hours a day do you spend on Pinterest compared to actually creating? I think if you can strike an even balance, you’re doing well!
Over the past couple of months I’ve had some requests for baby cards. I’ve been loving creating designs that mimic the subway art theme, which is one expression of typography. What is ‘typography’? According to Wikipedia:
Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language readable and appealing. The arrangement of type involves selecting typefaces, point size, line length, line-spacing (leading), letter-spacing (tracking), and adjusting the space within letters pairs (kerning).
I love playing around with wording, fonts, letter sizing & colours. I’m forever downloading fonts that I like. Font Squirrel and dafont are two of my favourite websites!
The first two cards I am sharing with you are creations that I made for friends to give to new babies they know. I love the personalised result, the visual layout and creating not just a card, but a keepsake too. Of course, I had some help from my Cameo for these projects.
When Di Barnes added “typography” to this week’s Just Add Ink challenge, it was a great excuse to pull the theme out again and create a personalised baby card for baby Hugo who was born to a friend of mine earlier in the week.
This one is simpler than the two above because I wanted to include the elephant which matched the onsie I decorated for him.
The elephant you see in the card above is actually made of fabric and ironed on to the card – something I’ve never done before but adds some great texture.
I’ve played with the font size, colour & spacing to make it bold. I suspect this little man is going to have a great impact on the world.
Welcome to baby Hugo and congratulations to his proud parents. This is the start of an amazing journey for the three of you! Kelly x

It’s been a while since I shared a baby card, after that new year rush! But, this is the first of a few over the next couple of months as more sweet little babies join the world.
This card was a request from a friend whose sister just had a gorgeous baby with an equally gorgeous name. She wanted something personalised & simple in baby pink, cream & white. I must confess, I don’t often use Whisper White and Very Vanilla together – but in this card it works.
Welcome baby Margot! Kelly x
