Congratulations Dr Kat!

After many years of hard work, my very clever sister-in-law was not going to let COVID interrupt her plans to finish her studies and become a vet. We were so very proud of her this month when she attended her registration day and got the certification that allows her to commence her journey as a working vet! Official graduation to follow, but I’m told the real excitement is the official paperwork!

Such a momentous occasion couldn’t go without a personalised gift to start her working life with the right accessories. How cute is this coat hanger from Our Heavenly Hangers. I added the paw print to keep on theme.

The card was made using the colours of her university – Real Red and Basic Black. I’ve been really enjoying the dive into my retired supplies lately – of which there are many as the years go on! The mortar board hat is a square of black cardstock with a gold tassel. The numbers are the Large Numbers Dies and the stars are from the Perpetual Birthday stamp set and the Curvy Christmas stamp set. From my current stash, the ‘congratulations’ sentiment is from A Grand Kid stamp set.

I also personalised a mug since everyone working lots of hours as a new grad needs coffee to keep them going!

Wishing Dr Kat every success on her journey as a vet!

CASEing the Catty #127 – Favourite Retiring Product from the Annual Catalogue

How was your weekend???  I had an amazing 48 hours of craft with some of my lovely crafting friends!

Craft retreats are so much fun!  Quality time for you & your craft projects with no kids, no housework and no interruptions!!!

If you’re local, you might be interested in my catalogue launch on 10th June – which is not quite of retreat proportions, but we’ll have lots of fun!

Anyway…. Sunday night means CASEing the Catty and tonight it’s all about our favourite retiring items from the Annual Catalogue.

Image may contain: text

It’s out with the old and in with the new….  but not before we’ve had a chance for one last play!

I’m playing with the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set.  This has been my go-to ‘splatter’ set for a number of years now and I’m going to miss it!

I’ve just checked the online store – and it’s gone!!!  Which means I wasn’t the only one who loved it!

But, on the upside, there’s still lots of amazing retiring products available.

The layout, colours and design of my card were inspired by the Perpetual Birthday Calendar samples in the catalogue.

It’s mostly the card on the left, with just a little influence from the right.

Other items on the retirement list…

  • Mint Macaron….. oh we’re going to miss it!
  • Washi – all the current washi is retiring, we’re getting new designs!

There’s a little sneaky peek on this card too!

The happy birthday is from a set I’m super excited about – the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set will be available in the new catalogue (from 1st June).

By the time you read this post, this card is already on its way to a special lady who has a birthday this month.  #imbringingbirthdaysback

I think birthday cards are my favourite type to make (when all this creativity boils down, there’s a whole heap of practical in me!).

Do you have a favourite type of card???

Maybe you’d like to CASE a project from the Annual Catalogue that contains your favourite retiring product and share it with us on our Facebook page?

For more amazing creations, keep hopping!  Next up is Rachel Palmieri, who always makes beautiful cards!

CASEing the Catty #114 Sending Love

Hi there!  As we get closer to a big week of love, today at CASEing the Catty, we’re being inspired by the “Sending Love” pages of the Occasions catalogue – pages 14-19.

When I say a big week of love, I’m not kidding in my house.

Next week sees Valentine’s Day, our wedding anniversary and Miss Papercraft’s 6th birthday.

There’s a few cards still to make on my to-do list!  I should have multi-tasked, but there was a photo in the catalogue that I couldn’t go past.

I’m totally in love with the cute images from the Moon Baby stamp set, and love the catalogue sample.

But it was the ‘swirly’ type embellishment that caught my eye.

This and the cute bow die was the sole reason I bought the Balloon Pop Up Thinlits!!!

So, when I saw it in the catalogue, mixed with the Moon Baby stamp – I knew I had to CASE it!

I wanted a softer, more traditional colour pallette for my baby cards, so I created pink & mint versions.

The dotty background was a bolder version of the subtle splatter on the sample card.  I made it by stamping the spotty stamp from the Perpetual Birthday stamp set in Blushing Bride or Mint Macaron, Smoky Slate & gold heat embossing.

I swapped the rectangle for the largest stitched circle – because so in love with those framelits.  And it’s all about love this week!

And finished the card off with the sweet ‘twinkle twinkle’ sentiment from the stamp – gold embossed of course!

Thanks for sharing another blog hop with me!  I hoping you’re enjoying all the weekly inspiration from my blog and my stamping friends.

Next up is the lovely Elizabeth Gross & her take on the same photo inspiration – you’ll love what she’s created!!!

CASEing the Catty #109 CASE Anything

As we near Christmas, there’s lots of “lasts” for the year.

Last week was the last day of school (yay to sleep ins and no packed lunches!), next week is the last of work for me and today is the last CASEing the Catty blog hop for 2016!

It’s a free range theme today, so the crew are CASEing anything that takes their fancy.

For me, it’s another baby card.  Do you remember the cute ‘pink but not pink’ elephant card from CTC#106?

Well, bubba Zoe is here and I wanted to make her a card that coordinated with the baby shower card.

This is the inspiration pic using the Large Letters Framelits & Letters for You stamp set in a frame…

I thought the styling was perfect to create a card for Zoe.

Simple but wonderfully personal.  She’s a bit young to appreciate it, but I know her parents will love it (even if they don’t love the “pink”!)

Do you love the Large Letters as much as I do???  They are awesome- but may have been on your wishlist for some time.

CASEing the Catty #106 Favourite Hostess Set

It’s a full Sunday today, with another hop for you to enjoy!

Today at CASEing the Catty, it’s all about the hostess sets from the Annual Catalogue – pages 198 – 201 or Holiday Catalogue – page 3.

Images © Stampin' Up!

I’ve already CASEd the Holiday Catalogue for my CTC swaps – you can see my shrink reindeers here.

So, today I’m CASEing the Annual Catalogue, specially the layout from this beautiful card.

Images © Stampin' Up!

I thought this would make a perfect starting point for a card for the baby shower I attended today.

There’s was a ‘no pink’ brief – which I {TOTALLY} ignored!!!

I’m a pink lover and having had 2 girls – I know how hard it is to avoid pink for little girls – it’s everywhere!!!

The biggest Little Miss Papercraft’s favourite colour has always been yellow.  It’s so difficult to get yellow anything for girls!

In fairness, the pink was inspired by this beautiful bandana bib I bought as part of their baby shower gift – which matches our Sweet Sugarplum cardstock perfectly!

So, it’s actually not pink…

CASEing the Catty #106 - Favourite Hostess Set. Kelly Kent -

And when you add ink all that black, grey, silver & gold, it’s not really all that pink at all!!!

Really!!!  Hopefully they’ll love it and I won’t be the only rule-ignoring guest!

Next place to visit for this blog hop is the wonderful Judy.

If you’re inspired to share a hostess project with us, please join the monthly challenge.
