CASEing the Catty #128 Favourite Kit

Hello Sunday!  Do I say that every week?

CASEing the Catty is one of my favourite challenges to be involved with – the catalogue is a treasure trove of amazing samples and creavity!

I feel like it brings out the best in my creativity and this week is no exception.

I just love the cards I created for challenge #128 – CASEing our favourite kit.

We know that picking favourites is a tricky one for me… but when it comes to kits, it was an easy flick to the Watercolor Wishes all-inclusive kit.

Watercolor Wishes Card Kit

This kit started a real love affair for me with kits, although with a stamp set, block, ink spot and all the materials you need to make 20 cards, what’s not to love?

These all-inclusive kits are perfect for every crafter.  For the ‘just getting started crafter’, they provide everything you need to be able to make beautiful cards.  For the novice crafter, they take all the hard work out of design.  And for the experienced crafter, they are a box of ‘easy’ – perfect to pack up & take on holidays, to kids sport or a good go-to when you just want to create!

For my CASEing the Catty projects, I wanted to highlight the great layout & designs of kit cards.

They are designed to be simple and appealing – lovely to look at but not too complex to put together.

Based on the designs in the photo, I used other items in my craft stash to make similar lovely but easy cards.

The sentiments are all from the Better Together stamp set (which lots of my team are getting this month thanks to a great promotion offered to Sale-A-Bration recruits!) and each card features the Falling in Love DSP.

I also used pearls as a feature through the card set.

Using catalogue pictures to inspired card layouts is a great way to get a project started!

And here’s the full set together…

I didn’t make these cards to be a set, just to show variety, but given the coordinating features they would actually make a lovely gift set.

I hope I’ve been able to remind you today that you don’t actually need lots of supplies to make great cards!

Stick to the basics of paper, stamps & ink and you can’t go wrong!

Next place to visit on the hop is the gorgeous Judy May, with equally as gorgeous creations!

We’d love for you to join us on Facebook and share your creations.  You’ve got all week, and all weekend to create, with entries open until Sunday evening 7pm (AEST).

Thanks for sharing in the fun!

ESAD Blog Hop – Eastern Palace Suite

Image may contain: text

Hello!  I’m excited to be hopping with a group of talented demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand today.

We all hang out on a Facebook page called ESAD and have a love for all things Stampin’ Up!

Image may contain: text

You are in for a treat today as the group showcases the Eastern Palace Suite.  I get to see the projects as you do, and I’m so excited for the creativity that will unfold as we hop around!

There’s a full list of participants at the end (in case there’s broken links) but hopefully it will all work out and you’ll just be able to keep clicking on ‘next’.

If you love Pinterest and Instagram, I’m sure you’ve already seen lots of Eastern Palace ideas floating around.  This beautiful suite is a pre-release from the Annual Catalogue that starts on 1st June.

Stampin’ Up! have very generously put together 2 products bundles that you can purchase during May.

The Eastern Palace Starter Bundle is $104.75 and includes everything you see in this picture including the Very Vanilla notecards & envelopes for {FREE}.

Order it now!

The Eastern Palace Premier Bundle includes all these amazing items for $178.25.

The {FREE} items for this bundle are the Very Vanilla Thick cardstock & Very Vanilla notecards.

Last Sunday I participated in an Eastern Palace blog hop and featured a soft & pretty theme.

Today, it’s all about the traditional and I wanted to show you what you could make with the products in your Premier Bundle!

Using all of the products above – except the Lemon Lime Twist Ink – I made this cute little 6-pack of Very Vanilla Notecards.

ESAD Blog Hop - Eastern Palace | kelly kent

In this gift set is 6 notecards & 6 envelopes decorated using the Eastern Medallion Thinlits, Gold Vinyl stickers & Eastern Palace cardstock pack.

It’s all packaged together with a belly band made using the Eastern Palace DSP, Eastern Medallion Framelits and a Fresh Fig Mini Tassel.

Each notecard features a peekaboo front.

I still wanted the sender to be able to write a message on the inside, so I stuck a card within the card and created a hidden message flap.

ESAD Blog Hop - Eastern Palace | kelly kent

The Eastern Medallions are the standout of this suite for me – so many creative options!!!

Many of the framelits in this set do not cut all the way around the edge, which makes them perfect for card fronts & envelope flaps!!!

I used two different designs, one each in Fresh Fig, Dapper Denim & Tranquil Tide for my notecards.

I was so inspired by Lynsay’s envelope decoration on the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop – what a great idea to embellish the envelope flap with this suite.

The Eastern Beauty stamp set added the perfect finishing touches to my envelopes.

I didn’t set out to create a sentiment free gift set, but that’s how it ended up!  And on reflection, it’s actually perfect!

Who doesn’t need a set of cards on standby for ‘any occasion’?

You could actually add a sentiment on these cards as needed.  The curved stamps from the Eastern Beauty stamp set would look great around the curve of the die cut.

Thanks for enjoying this suite with me today.  Next up on the hop is the always gorgeous, very talented and someone I’m proud to call a friend, Lou Kitzelman.

She organises these hops & does a great job of keeping us all in line!  Not an easy task when working with such a big group, all with different levels of technical expertise!

You’re going to love what she’s made!

CASEing the Catty #121 Sale-A-Bration

Welcome to CASEing the Catty #121 – our final hop featuring the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

That’s right!  As of the end of this month, Sale-A-Bration 2017 will be finished and there won’t be any further chances to redeem Sale-A-Bration products.

There’s lots to choose from across 3 releases – see the gallery at the end of this post for all the choices.

You’re going to love the projects the crew are sharing today.

My CTC projects were a little multi-taskng opportunity.

I caught up with a fabulous friend this weekend who asked me to bring along any blank / no sentiment cards I had lying around.  I was under strict instructions not to make any extra work for myself.

I completely followed those instructions – and created these lovely sentiment free cards for her as part of my CASEing the Catty requirements.

Sneaky – huh?

I love a ‘no sentiment’ card, so these were super fun to make.

What did I CASE you ask???

Well, it was the 2nd release flyer that was part of my plan, since I haven’t yet featured this in a CTC post.

Specifically, the cards on the front cover…

From those samples, to these inspired creations…

The first card used the doily feature, watercolour centrepiece & some of the pieces from Carosels & Cupcakes stamp set.

The next card uses the Stylish Stems Framelits along a centre panel with some of the Sale-A-Bration glimmer paper as a feature.

And the final card uses the sketch layout from the card – but in a monochromatic Night of Navy & Whisper White theme (with a touch of burlap / Kraft).

I can’t pick a favourite… can you?

With Sale-A-Bration nearing to an end, it’s time to stock up on any of your basics and/or buy the items on your wishlist.

You can shop in my online store 24-7 (host code: BCXWWYKA), or email me your order.

Please join our weekly challenge over on our Facebook page.

If you need a little more temptation before Sale-A-Bration finishes, then keep hopping to visit Julia‘s great projects.

Stamp Review Crew – Swirly Birds

swirly-bird-banner

Hey there 2017!!!

My first design team post for the year is with the Stamp Review Crew.

I’m delightful to be hopping with this talented group of international demos again this year.

You’re currently with Kelly in Australia, but please hop all the way around as you get inspired for projects created with the Swirly Bird stamp set.

This cute & swirly set has a matching set of framelits.  I confess to having used the framelits more often than the stamps, so it was lovely for these projects to focus just on the stamps.

I’m sharing two cards today.

First, the ‘bird’…

Stamp Review Crew - Swirly Bird. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

This card was a custom request by a friend as a housewarming card for a family with 5 kids.

I made the birds into a mummy & daddy, and changed the eggs into little hatchlings in the nest.

Love the cloudy DSP background?  That’s a Sale-A-Bration freebie, which will be available with every $90 (Australian) purchase from 4th Jan (2 more sleeps!).

My second card is ‘swirly’…

Stamp Review Crew - Swirly Bird. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I used the spots and swirls from the Swirly Bird stamp set to create a lively background for my dragonfly family.

The dragonflies are also available from 4th Jan!

With so many pieces in this stamp set, there’s lots you can do with it!

Next up on the hop for inspiration is the wonderful Debra Burgin.

If there’s broken links anywhere along the hop, head back to the main Stamp Review Crew page for a full list of participants in this hop.  The SRC post goes live just a touch later than mine, so if that link doesn’t work either, check back a little later!!!

Hope your New Year has started in style.

Mine involved friends, family, craft and some household organisation.  If that’s the way my year continues, I’m a happy girl!!!

I’m looking forward to lots of crafty fun in 2017 – please join me on mypapercraftjourney.com, Facebook & Pinterest so you don’t miss a thing!

Butterfly Explosion! JAI304

It’s Just Add Ink time again – is it just me, or are these weeks flying by?

A great inspiration challenge this week with a bold photo chosen by Jodene.

Those colours just pop!  I’m not sure where in the world this is – but it looks like somewhere I’d like to visit!!!

For me, it was the colours that formed most of my inspiration.  As well as the idea of something floating in the sky.

Here is my butterfly explosion card…

Just Add Ink #304 - Butterfly Explosion card. Kellly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.Unfortunately the mason jar framelit & stamp set is on the retired list (from many a years back), but it was just such a perfect image for my butterflies to be escaping from that I couldn’t resist using it (maybe some of you still have it in your collection???).

The gorgeous butterflies, however, are very much available.  You can find them hanging out in the Annual Catalogue as part of the Garden in Bloom stamp set.  This set is so lovely and gets regular use at my house!

What’s better than one sweet butterfly???  An explosion of sweet butterflies!  Kelly x
