Catalogue Transition – the old & the new

As a demonstrator, I love the period of catalogue transition!  Twice as many Stampin’ Up! products to love at the same time.  I can make projects to share with retiring & carryover items, as well as share sneak peeks of the wonderful things to come.

It’s a good chance to remind you to place an order for any of the items from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue & 2018 Occasions Catalogue that you’ll miss – stock up on paper, refills, DSP and make sure you own favourite stamp sets, dies, punches & accessories.  Once we hit the evening of 31st May 2018, all the items on the retirement / last chance list will disappear from the online store.

From 10am (WA time) on 1st June 2018, the new catalogue items will be available to order!!!  Yay!

This sweet little card uses a mix of retiring items and a new stamp set that will join us on Friday.

ESAD Blog Hop | 2018 Retirement List

No automatic alt text available.

What a bittersweet moment every retirement list is!

There’s the excitement of new things to come, but the sadness of some favourites retiring.  I am always on the side of excitement – because…… I own my favourites and I can keep using them as long as I want!  And add more pretties to my collection from the new catalogue!  Win-win!

There’s a combined list for 2018 including the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue and 2018 Occasions catalogue.

The online store is the easiest way to keep track of what is still available on the retirement list – because things {WILL} sell out.  Visit my online store here.

Today I’m hopping with the ESAD Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.

I know the inspiration is going to be huge!!!  You’ll see new ways of using sets you already own, discover stamps set you hadn’t noticed before (just as they are retiring!) and I’m sure you’ll add a few things to your ever growing list of Stampin’ must haves!

Being firmly in the kid zone here at Papercraft HQ, I always love seeing what Stampin’ Up! bring out each year in the Babies & Kids section of the catalogue.

We had some great stamp sets join us last year.  Some are staying, but we’re saying goodbye to….

My project today uses two of those stamp sets that I’ve loved over the past year – Moon Baby & Little One.

Thankfully Tranquil Tide is not yet retiring but all DSP in the catalogue is retiring (except Wood Textures), so you’ll want to make sure you stock up on any favourite patterns.  I’ve used the True Gentleman DSP from the Occasions catalogue.

The sentiment from this set is from another retiring stamp set – Ready to Pop which has a range of sentiments including this cute ‘with love’.

Just Add Ink #369 – Inspiration

It’s a photo inspiration challenge at Just Add Ink this week.

Image may contain: outdoor

Join us over at the Just Add Ink blog with your creation inspired by any element of this photo.  It could be the hot air balloon theme, the colours, the layout, the trees, the water…. there’s so much to choose from!

I was inspired by the reflection of the balloon over the water, and used this to create {another} baby card!

Just Add Ink #369 Photo Inspiration | kelly kent

To get a reflection of any stamped image, stamp it as usual on the cardstock.  Then stamp again on Window Sheet and use this image to press under your first stamped image.

The second image will be a mirror image of the first, and lighter in colour, making it look like a reflection.  To get the water ripple, I stamped the top part of the water stamp from the High Tide stamp.

I added Pool Party ink where the puddle formed and Dapper Denim ink on the onesie.

It’s a subtle finish, but I used the new Marbled background stamp, just to add a bit of texture under my centre panel.

The design team have created more beautiful projects to add extra inspiration this week!  See all the creations over at the Just Add Ink blog.

You can join in the fun there too but adding your card to our gallery!

We love seeing what you create as much as you love seeing our creations!

CASEing the Catty #125 Occasions – Favourite Big Shot Project

Thanks for joining me for a CASEing the Catty Sunday blog hop.  The design team will share their projects for the week in this blog hop.

Then, we ask you to join us and share your creations.  You can find all the action on our Facebook page.

The theme this for CASEing the Catty #125 is Favourite Big Shot projects from the Occasions catalogue.

As always, a hard decision!  But I decided to create with the Dynamic Hexagon embossing folder – because I love it, which definitely makes it a favourite!

It’s currently part of the Urban Undergound suite in the Occasions catalogue and will appear again in the 2017-2019 Annual Catalogue!

I have cased the “Dad” card on the left, and transformed it into a baby card!

This embossing folder has no limits of use and looks great on pretty much every card!

I can cause cracking on your cardstock.  To prevent this, spritz your card with water before putting it in the folder.  Sounds crazy – but it works!

I made the inside a little more ‘baby’ than industrial using the Moon Baby stamp set (also carrying over – yay!).

Did you know that all bundled pricing finishes at the end of each catalogue cycle – even if the products carry over to another catalogue. That means that you have just over a month to get a 10% discount on the Large Letters framelits & coordinating stamp set. They are definitely a huge investment – but well worth it! And 10% helps!!!
And, while they are bundled, it’s possible to include them in your starter kit!!
Join my Paper Adventures team for the Starter Kit price of $169 and include this bundle (item number: 142348) as your kit selection (remember: it’s fully customisable).  You’ll get free shipping too – saving you even more!

There’s so much choice for creating this week – please join us in using the catalogue as your inspiration for a Occasions catalogue Big Shot themed creation.

Add your creation to the CTC#125 album on our Facebook page.

Colour INKspiration #05

colour-inspiration-banner

Did you love the colours from last fortnight for Colour INKspiration?

We had so many people enjoying the bold & beautiful purple & yellows!!

This week for Colour INKspiration, we take a softer turn into the pastels.

Colour INKspiration #5

This trio of colours lend themselves so nicely to so many occasions!

My initial thought was a pretty wedding card…

Colour INKspiration #05 - Wedding Card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I had the idea to create the background piece by repetitively die cutting the floral centrepiece die (hexagon shaped die) from the Window Box Thinlits until the cardstock piece was covered.

I then overlayed it on the bokeh piece of DSP from the Falling In Love DSP.  This DSP pack is perfect for this challenge!!!

Once the background was finished, I added my sentiment on an oval stitched shape and decorated with a pink flower & blue butterfly.

Sometimes finding ways to keep within the constraints of the challenge colours is the best fun of a colour challenge!

I loved the wedding card, but  I couldn’t shake off the idea of using these colours for a baby card.

How cute are these little babies from the Moon Baby stamp set?

This card for some oh-so-cute twin boys born just a little while ago.

Colour INKspiration #05 - Twin Babies. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Even though it was a traditional baby blue theme I was going for, the pink worked beautifully for a shower of hearts as they drifted down!

I’m so happy with this card!!!

Please join us with your Blushing Bride, Soft Sky and Sahara Sand creations!

You can add any neutral or metallic to complete your artwork.

All designs need to uploaded to our Facebook page to be in the running to win our top 5 crew pick and overall winner for the challenge.

Can’t wait to see what cards & other projects are inspired by these soft & beautiful colours!

Next stop on the hop for more sweet inspiration is Julia Quinn

CASEing the Catty #114 Sending Love

12371218_10153736740662158_9102306381153319857_o

Hi there!  As we get closer to a big week of love, today at CASEing the Catty, we’re being inspired by the “Sending Love” pages of the Occasions catalogue – pages 14-19.

Images © Stampin' Up!

When I say a big week of love, I’m not kidding in my house.

Next week sees Valentine’s Day, our wedding anniversary and Miss Papercraft’s 6th birthday.

There’s a few cards still to make on my to-do list!  I should have multi-tasked, but there was a photo in the catalogue that I couldn’t go past.

I’m totally in love with the cute images from the Moon Baby stamp set, and love the catalogue sample.

Images © Stampin' Up!

But it was the ‘swirly’ type embellishment that caught my eye.

This and the cute bow die was the sole reason I bought the Balloon Pop Up Thinlits!!!

So, when I saw it in the catalogue, mixed with the Moon Baby stamp – I knew I had to CASE it!

I wanted a softer, more traditional colour pallette for my baby cards, so I created pink & mint versions.

CASEing the Catty #114 Sending Love. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

The dotty background was a bolder version of the subtle splatter on the sample card.  I made it by stamping the spotty stamp from the Perpetual Birthday stamp set in Blushing Bride or Mint Macaron, Smoky Slate & gold heat embossing.

CASEing the Catty #114 Sending Love. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I swapped the rectangle for the largest stitched circle – because so in love with those framelits.  And it’s all about love this week!

And finished the card off with the sweet ‘twinkle twinkle’ sentiment from the stamp – gold embossed of course!

Thanks for sharing another blog hop with me!  I hoping you’re enjoying all the weekly inspiration from my blog and my stamping friends.

Next up is the lovely Elizabeth Gross & her take on the same photo inspiration – you’ll love what she’s created!!!
