ESAD Blog Hop | 2018 Retirement List

No automatic alt text available.

What a bittersweet moment every retirement list is!

There’s the excitement of new things to come, but the sadness of some favourites retiring.  I am always on the side of excitement – because…… I own my favourites and I can keep using them as long as I want!  And add more pretties to my collection from the new catalogue!  Win-win!

There’s a combined list for 2018 including the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue and 2018 Occasions catalogue.

The online store is the easiest way to keep track of what is still available on the retirement list – because things {WILL} sell out.  Visit my online store here.

Today I’m hopping with the ESAD Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.

I know the inspiration is going to be huge!!!  You’ll see new ways of using sets you already own, discover stamps set you hadn’t noticed before (just as they are retiring!) and I’m sure you’ll add a few things to your ever growing list of Stampin’ must haves!

Being firmly in the kid zone here at Papercraft HQ, I always love seeing what Stampin’ Up! bring out each year in the Babies & Kids section of the catalogue.

We had some great stamp sets join us last year.  Some are staying, but we’re saying goodbye to….

My project today uses two of those stamp sets that I’ve loved over the past year – Moon Baby & Little One.

Thankfully Tranquil Tide is not yet retiring but all DSP in the catalogue is retiring (except Wood Textures), so you’ll want to make sure you stock up on any favourite patterns.  I’ve used the True Gentleman DSP from the Occasions catalogue.

The sentiment from this set is from another retiring stamp set – Ready to Pop which has a range of sentiments including this cute ‘with love’.

Colour INKspiration #26

It’s Colour Day!!!  I’m hopping today with the Colour INKspiration Crew and these amazing colours!

No automatic alt text available.

All those beautiful blue/greens together…….. beaches, peacocks, flowers, mermaids, butterflies……

And then there’s me…..

My frequent use of challenge colours for baby cards has not escaped my attention!

This is my creation using those gorgeous colours….

Colour INKspiration #26 | kelly kent

I initially had a moment of ‘OMG’ what DSP do I have in these colours.  We have lots of lovely DSP but since they removed the paper stacks, the single colour choices are limited.

But then inspiration hit and I knew some of these colours were in our Memories & More kits.  These kits have to be one of the best kept secrets of every catalogue.  Packed with pretty patterns & fun designs, they add a great fresh element for card makers & memory keepers.

Colour INKspiration #26 | kelly kent

The Sahara Sand designs can be found in the Bundle of Love card pack and the Emerald Envy design is from the Perfect Days card pack.

Add in Tranquil Tide & Bermuda Bay cardstock and this colour combination is complete!

Without it being a conscious choice, this card it totally created from products you’ll find in the Annual Catalogue.  I know it’s been sobbing quietly in the background while I’ve been having fun with all the new Occasions Catalogue products.  Dust off AC!  It’s your time to shine!!!

Colour INKspiration #26 | kelly kent

If you shop in my online store, you’ll find all the products including Annual Catalogue, Occasion Catalogue, Sale-A-Bration choices and even a great array of discounted items on the Clearance Rack!

To find more things to add to that wishlist, keep hopping to see more Colour INKspiration projects.

Next up is the gorgeous Jackie Noble from New Zealand who has a magical way with colour!

Thanks for joining us!

If you’re inspired by this colour palette, then we’d love to see your creation.  Add it over on our Colour INKspiration Challenges Facebook page.  Click here to visit.

Without entries, challenges cease to continue, so thanks for your support!

Foil Snowflakes – I just can’t get enough of them!

The absolute winner of the 2017 Holiday Catalogue for me hasn’t been a stamp set, new framelits or even the pretty paper.

The product I am absolutely in love with is….

Foil Snowflakes!

I can’t get enough of them {you can probably tell if you subscribe to my blog or social media!} – I’ve been using them on every project that crosses my craft table at the moment.

Many of the cards I’ve used the snowflakes on, haven’t actually been Christmas cards.  The Foil Snowflakes make amazing ‘doilies’.

We’ve still got just under 3 months left of guaranteed availability – and I am very hopeful that Stampin’ Up! will decide to keep them after that!

Have you ordered a pack?  Do you love them?

This is my latest ‘snowflake’ project – a kids birthday card!

Teepee Birthday | kelly kent

I also loved using the teepee stamp on this card.

Teepee Birthday | kelly kent

It comes from “Little One” – a stamp set designed for baby cards.  But it’s perfect for this fun 3rd birthday card.

Teepee Birthday | kelly kent

After blogging a few cards lately with Foil Snowflakes, I thought I’d look back and see all the ways I’ve used them so far…

Foil Snowflakes | kelly kent

1 baby card
1 anniversary card
3 birthday cards
3 Christmas cards

What occasion should I ‘snowflake’ next???

Colour INKspiration #13

Hello! And welcome to Colour INKspiration #13!

Do you love or hate the number 13?  I’m a fan!!!!

The first challenge for July features a gorgeous quartet of bright & fun colours – Sweet Sugarplum, Wild Wasabi, Lemon Lime Twist & Fresh Fig.

Image may contain: plant, flower and nature

You may like to take inspiration from the photo as well, but you can go wherever these challenge colours take you.

Don’t forget that you can add in any neutrals or metallics to the palette too – which opens up some great variety.

I’ve added silver/gray to mine to create yet another creation using the “Little One” stamp set.  I just love that teepee!!!

Colour INKspiration #13 | kelly kent

This concept came from the idea of a cute baby blanket covered in teepees.  The colours from this challenge were perfect for a bright & fun look.

I double embossed the cardstock with the Ruffled folder (embossed once, rotated and then embossed again) after it was stamped & coloured, to give it a ‘blanket look’.

Colour INKspiration #13 | kelly kent

Watercoloring the teepees softened the colours to ‘baby tone’.

A bit of sequin & glitter dot bling finished the sentiment panel…

Colour INKspiration #13 | kelly kent

Do you like the ‘get your swaddle on’ sentiment?

I think it’s a bit of a divider – I’m still sitting on the fence.  Might be a ‘for the right Mum/baby’ type saying.

The hop showcasing these gorgeous colours continues on now to the wonderful Monique Fielder

You can join in too by uploading your creation using the challenge colours (and any neutrals and/or metallics) over on our Colour INKspiration Challenges Facebook page.

If you don’t have Facebook, email me your creation and I’ll share it for you!.

I hope you have a wonderful end to your week!

If you’re still on school holidays like me, I’m hoping for fine weather, lazy mornings and children who don’t whine!

I don’t ask for much, do I???

Teepee Love!

Do you remember the baby teepee card I made back in May when I was eagerly awaiting being able to order all the stamps on my new catalogue wishlist?

Here it is…

Now that I’ve added the oh-so-cute teepee stamp set – Little One – to my collection, I made the card again using the stamp set.

Little One - Teepee Love | kelly kent

I can’t decide which version I like better!!!  I just think teepees are the cutest baby motif!

I also made a Rich Razzleberry version in this design….

These cards were my swaps for our recent team meeting.

Want to be part of an amazing team of like-minded crafters?  You should join Stampin Up! and our Paper Adventures team!  Especially during July – the joining deal is AH-MAY-ZING!  Click here for more info.

{PS, if you are trying to place the cute Tranquil Tide washi tape, I stole it from my Soft Sayings kit!}

This stamp set is getting quite a work out – pop back in tomorrow to see another Little One creation for my Colour INKspiration design team card.

So many baby cards – but I just couldn’t resist!

CASEing the Catty #132 – Birthdays

Hello Sunday!

It’s been a crazy, amazing & wonderful week for me, starting with a long weekend Monday and finishing this weekend with my 2017 Catalogue Launch Event.

For the first time, I tackled a retreat style event with 17 wonderful stamping friends.  It took hard work, the help of my stamping army and a few late nights, but it all came together to create a fabulous day of fun, creativity and friendships.  We talked about getting a group shot, but didn’t quite get around to it – too much stamping to do!

Here’s an action picture…

2017 Annual Catalogue Launch Event | kelly kent

The ladies had a great time playing with new & old favourites from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue.

I was itching to use one of my top 10 purchases – Little One stamp set, a sweet baby set with an oh-so-cute teepee!

But… the theme this week at CASEing the Catty is Birthdays!  Did you love Mel’s beautiful 50th birthday project?

No automatic alt text available.

Luckily for me, the inspiration for CASEing the Catty only has to come from these pages.  The theme can be anything you like!

So, I used this beautiful sample from the catalogue to inspire my colour choice, design features & layout.

This is my Little One baby card…

Of course I had to add some Kelly touches, so it all sits over some vellum and I’ve white embossed the sentiment.

CASEing the Catty #132 Little One | kelly kent

The inside has a touch of simple decoration – some of the new washi tape.  I was so excited to see it come in solid colours this year, in packs of the same tone!
