Stamp Review Crew | Animal Outing

Hello!  It’s a wonderful Stamp Review Crew Hop today -my international Stampin’ Up! friends and I are sharing projects made using Animal Outing.  You’re going to love this hop!!!

This stamp set is part of a bundle with the Animal Friends Thinlits.  It’s also part of a suite with Animal Expedition DSP & other coordinating products.  See the range in the catalogue – page 27, or browse online.

I’m sharing two projects today made with the Animal Outing stamp set.

The first was a team class project where I wanted to share reverse image stamping with my team.

The giraffe (and all the animals in in set) are perfect for this technique.  It adds extra dimension to the layout of a card – and means you can have animal friends looking at each other.

There’s 4 giraffes in the circle – two facing left and two facing right (although one is upside down, so technically three of them are looking right!).  The ones facing right were stamped as normal.  The ones facing left were stamped onto a silicone mat and then transferred onto the cardstock.

I’ve tried this technique before with Window Sheet – but you have to be so careful not to smudge the image as you transfer it.  Using the silicone sheet gives a much better image, but you can’t see through for placement – so it’s slightly trickier in that way.  I recommend doing the reverse image first, then lining up your other images.

Although I love the sentiments in the stamp set, the animals go so well with lots of other sentiments. For my quartet of giraffes, I liked the ‘from all of us’ saying from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.

For my second card, I wanted to stamp the rhino onto DSP to see the effect.  I love the Animal Expedition DSP (I’ve used that for the gray panel) but had a pink rhino in my head, so went looking through the new DSP – and fell in love with the Tropical Escape DSP Stack.  Oh my, the patterns in this are amazing!!!

Add some embellishments and we have a cute & girly card.  I like the pink rhino – she’s fun!!!

In both cards I’ve used Stampin’ Write Markers to add open eyes to the animals.  I still need some practice, but I like the effect of the animals looking out from the card.

Happy Thanksgiving

On any other year, Thanksgiving comes & goes in Australia without it featuring as part of my holiday calendar.

This year, I have been invited by friends to a Thanksgiving dinner!

I am totally out of my depth for making Thanksgiving cards – so I went searching in the catalogue for inspiration.

The card on the bottom left of the photo was my inspiration.

This is how my card turned out…

I kept with the Painted Harvest stamp set and Painted Autumn DSP but added in a Crumb Cake layer, changed the Garden Green to Tranquil tide, added some vellum leaves and finished with some pearls!

Same, same but different!!!  Don’t forget that the beautiful pages of the catalogue are your friend when you need spark of inspiration or a guiding theme for a stamp set or product.

Happy Thanksgiving | kelly kent

I am thankful for having a wonderful support network of not only my family, but friends that are as important to me as family!

I hope you have a long list of things that bring you happiness!

Stamp Review Crew | Painted Harvest

Hello & happy Monday!  Thanks for joining us for the Stamp Review Crew blog hop.

Myself and a group of my wonderful Stampin’ Up! friends from around the world share with you a project or two inspired by a stamp set from the pages of the Stampin’ Up! catalogue.

Today we’re highlighting the Painted Harvest stamp set.

I’m excited to share with you that this stamp set and coordinating Leaf Punch will carryover to the Occasions catalogue and continue to be available until at least the end of May 2018.

However, discount available at present when you buy these items in a bundle (stamp set & punch together = $58.50) will not continue into the new catalogue. So, if this stamp set is on your wishlist, you’ll want to purchase it before 2nd January 2018 to get the best deal!

For my project today, I’ve made a sweet little gift set with a calendar and note-writing paper.

This style of easel card are often made with post it notes in the pocket, but I wanted this one to be extra special so I stamped each of the notecard pages with the Painted Harvest stamps.

A stamp positioning tool makes job like this so much easier – I can’t wait til we all get our hands on the Stamparatus!  See here for all the details.  The next reservation window opens on the 6th Dec.

We’re going to see a rainbow of Painted Harvest flowers during this blog hop – because the only limitation on colour combinations is your imagination!

I’ve stamped mine in Blushing Bride, Powder Pink and Smoky Slate.

A cute gift like this deserves amazing packaging, so I’ve decorated a Clear Acetate Box. These are the perfect size for Australian sized cards – thanks SU! for considering the needs of the international market!

It’s great to be able to continue the theme of the gift through to the packaging with the same colours & design features.

I always love a stamp set and punch bundle and this one is no exception!  The leaf punch is a great embellishment for so many projects.

Of course, I love leaves in vellum!

The ‘for you’ comes from one of the sentiments.  I just masked out the other words that I didn’t need.

A DSP Journey…

With the great DSP special on during October, I got inspired to go back to a favourite card design of mine where the DSP is the highlight!

I ended up going on a ‘paper adventure’ with some gorgeous patterns.

And some favourite stamp sets – Happy Birthday Gorgeous & Painted Harvest.

The colour journey started with this pretty design from the “Whole Lot of Lovely” DSP…

DSP | kelly kent

And then realised that this retired pattern from the Birthday Bouquet DSP (recently on the Clearance Rack) was a very similar pattern with a pink influence…

Which then reminded me of the delightful patterns in the Daisy Delight DSP…

And this one too…

So, all up in an afternoon of pottering about at my craft table, I was able to create a stack of pretty cards using gorgeous DSP.

Some of these cards will be sent to my friends having birthdays this month.

Have you sent any cards this month?

It’s such a buzz to receive one – send a card and be the person to put a smile on someone’s face!

Painted Harvest

It is my mission for every new catalogue that Stampin’ Up! releases to buy the set that everyone is raving about.

Not only because if the masses like it, then chances are that I will too, but because there ends up being a tonne of inspiration available on Pinterest & Facebook!

So, this catalogue, my ‘peer picked’ stamp set is Painted Harvest. It comes with a coordinating punch – a very versatile leaf shape.

And, one of the best features is that bundled together, the stamp set and punch are only $58.50 (Australian pricing).

You can buy the bundle in my online store, click here to be taken there!

When my Stampin’ Up! box arrived this morning (mostly filled with customer orders and just a few goodies for me…. or at least that’s what I’m telling Mr Papercraft), Painted Harvest was the first thing I unpacked.

The sunflower looks amazing in a range of different colours, and I’m looking forward to experimenting, but for my first inking, I was all about the traditional…

Painted Harvest | kelly kent

A clean and simple design to let the sunflower shine!

As usual the Painted Harvest coordinated well with other products in the Stampin’ Up! range.  I’ve paired it with the Layered Leaves embossing folder.

Thanks for visiting today!  Be sure to check in tomorrow and Thursday for some design team cards!
