Social Stamping | brights

Hi there! Thanks for joining me and my Stampin’ friends for the first Social Stamping Blog Host of 2021. I started these hops in 2020 as a way to stay connected during the pandemic. I had no idea at the time we’d still be sharing projects as a group almost a year later! To see the full list of participants for today’s hop, click here to view the main blog host post.

The theme for today is the Brights Colour Collection. I think this is the happiest range of colours and projects made with these colours are fun and bold and interesting.

I’ve used the Brights DSP Stack – which is currently available in the Starter Kit for anyone who joins Stampin’ Up! during Sale-A-Bration. Sale-A-Bration finishes tomorrow (9pm WA time) so please message me this weekend on Facebook, Instagram, leave a comment here or send me an email if you need more information. Or, if you know how it works and you’re ready to join my Paper Adventures team, you can purchase your Starter Kit by clicking here. If it doesn’t find me automatically as your demonstrator, you can search for me using my name “Kelly Kent’ and location “Dalyellup’.

I made two cards for this hop so I could use all 10 colours in the Brights collection – Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape.

Brights | kelly kent

The first card uses Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Poppy Parade, Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight.

Brights | kelly kent

I cut the Detailed Hearts Die in Basic White cardstock and then again in the DSP so I could layer the hearts within the frame. So I didn’t waste any of the DSP, I cut 1.5″ strips of each colour and then cut out just the segments of hearts I needed.

I won’t lie, this card was time consuming – but it’s worth placing each of those little hearts into the space and filling it up with pretty colour.

Brights | kelly kent

The sentiment for both cards is from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set – white heat embossed on black cardstock as I love the contrast of black, white and the pop of colour from the Brights.

The second card has been swirling around my mind for a while – I’ve had feathers on the brain! And the combination of Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape seemed like the perfect colour combination to make it come to life.

Brights | kelly kent

The feather die is from the Nature’s Thoughts Dies. The pretty scallop edge is from the Be Mine Stitched Dies. And the die I’ve used for the hello there sentiment is from the Hippo & Friends Dies.

Brights | kelly kent

Next up on the blog hop for some more bright creations is my gorgeous team member Lisa Whitehead. Lisa took advantage of a joining special with Stampin’ Up! a couple of years ago and has just celebrated her 2 year Stampinversary.

If you’d like to get your hands of 5 packs (200 sheets!) of DSP just for buying a Stampin’ Up! Starter Kit, then now is the time. This DSP will be available in the upcoming catalogue released in May 2021, so you’ll be among the first to have it in your stash. Click here to start adding items to the Starter Kit.

Thanks for hopping with us today. We look forward to sharing another colour collection again next month.

Twas the Week Before Christmas | Team Gifts

Hello! It’s been a very quiet blogging month for me. Behind the scenes I’ve been spending almost every night crafting up a storm, which has left very little time to share those projects with you. Blogging is a delicate balance – too much time spent photographing, editing, watermarking, uploading and writing posts means too little time spent making!!!

The balance is important here at Papercraft HQ. My time is always a juggle between mummy duties, paid work (I’m a paediatric Speech Pathologist) and having a social life of my own! I don’t think I always got it right in 2020, but on reflection, its been a year full of lots of amazing, so I can’t complain!

To catch up on what I’ve been up to, I’m aiming to share a project a day with you for the rest of 2020. The week it’s all about Christmas. If you’re a deadline crafter like me, then you may still have some cards to make in the lead up to Christmas. If you’re all done and dusted on Christmas crafting for 2020, then make sure to save your favourites to Pinterest for next year’s creative endeavours!

Today’s project to share is my team gifts for 2020. This year our team celebrated twice – a lunch in Mandurah (the half way point between our Perth & Bunbury teamies) and a lunch and team class in Bunbury.

The concept for the jars started as a ‘motivation pot’. I wanted the team to have something on their desk that they could dip into when they were feeling a little low on crafty mojo. What better way to inspire creativity than a little sugar?

Team Gifts 2020 | kelly kent

I also stamped and added some positive sayings from a beautiful Uniquely Creative set I was gifted by a friend. If sugar doesn’t do the trick, then hopefully some words of affirmation help to get those creative juices flowing again!

Team Gifts 2020 | kelly kent

The jars for the project were from Kmart. The rainbow was the inspiration for the accompanying tag – and has become my motif for this Christmas. It was drawn freehand with the brush end of Stampin’ Blends, which means I can create it in any colour and match it to the project or wrapping. The stamps are from the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set (a little christmas wish), Ridiculously Awesome stamp set (heart) and my name is from a personalised stamp I own. I’ve been using Night of Navy and other dark inks lots this festive season an an alternative to black. They stamp so nice and bold!

Team Gifts 2020 | kelly kent

The saying on the top resonated with me and I hope with the team too. I’m a big believer in the philosophy of our actions and reactions being a choice. I choose kind as my action and positive as my reaction and outlook. I’m looking forward to reading a book recommended by Stampin’ Up! CEO Sara Douglass called Adversity is the Way by Ryan Holiday (some good “holiday” reading – pun intended!!!).

Team Gifts 2020 | kelly kent

Lucky for me our team is wonderful and so supportive of each other in both our creative endeavours and everyday life.

There’s always room for more on our Paper Adventures team, so if you love stamping, we’d love to have you join us and craft the live you love. Click here to purchase your Stampin’ Up! Starter Kit and join us!

Have a great week! Christmas countdown is on!!!

Just Add Ink #534 | colour challenge

Hello December! Have things starting Jingle Bell-ing at your house yet? For the first time ever, we put our tree up early this year, before the traditional 1st December. It’s one of my most hated jobs, so I tasked Mr Papercraft & the Minis with tree construction & decoration and took off to my Stampin’ Up! team Christmas party! Win-win!!! They did a great job!

The theme for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge isn’t specifically Christmas, but the colours do lend themselves to a classic Christmas theme, so I know we’re going to see a lot of festive crafting. We’d love for you to join the challenge – click here to visit the main JAI blog and add your project to our gallery.

My creation for this challenge uses the stamp set from the Joy to the World Paper Pumpkin Kit. You won’t find this is in the catalogue – it’s a special purchase available exclusively to Stampin’ Up! customers while stocks last. You get materials to make 8 fabulous Christmas cards, but also a stamp set and Just Jade ink spot. The stamp set is what drew me in – a beautiful font and pretty theme!

Joy to the World | kelly kent

Although clean and simple (CAS) in the design with lots of white to complete the challenge colours, there’s a bit of fussy cutting in this card for the wreath and flower. Perhaps not ideal for mass production, but a great way to pass some time while watching a favourite TV show.

I’ve coloured the images for the card using a combination of Stampin’ Blends and Stampin’ Write Markers. Though I don’t generally colour large spaces with Stampin’ Write Markers, they are a great option for smaller spaces when there’s not a Blend available in the colour you want (for this card it was Pear Pizzazz for the leaves).

Joy to the World | kelly kent

The embossing folder is one of the mini style (Greenery – from the Annual Catalogue). I have exciting mini news to share with you!!! The Mini Stamp and Cut Embossing Machine is available now as a pre-order for demonstrators and in January for customers. That means you can buy it during Sale-A-Bration (which starts 5th Jan 2021) and get a free Sale-A-Bration item!!!

If you can’t wait til then – my advice is to join my Paper Adventures team and add it to your Starter Kit. You’ll get to choose the Mini S&CEM plus another $131 of products and you’ll only pay $169 with free shipping and a 20% discount on everything you buy while you are an active demonstrator. Plus, you’ll join our amazing team (well, I think we’re amazing!). Click here to visit the join page or message me for more information (Facebook, Instagram, email).

Joy to the World | kelly kent

Since this stamp set has such a beautiful font and a verse that’s perfect for the inside of the card, I embellished the middle to. My stamping straight in the middle of a card tip is to stamp on a smaller piece, cut it out with a cute framelit (I’ve used the Stitched Rectangle Dies) and then adhere it to your card middle. No more wonky stamping or wasted card stock. You could also use your Stamparatus to line it up.

I’ve had a look at the design team cards for this week – and it seems that the Joy to the World stamp set is popuar with a few of us! Click here to see all the design team cards and to enter one of your projects for the challenge.

Have a great weekend!

OnStage@Home | Nov 2020 Recap

In the true style of 2020, our Novemeber OnStage experience was different to the celebrations of previous years. This event was presented online and we watched and stamped from the comforts of our homes.

Here in Western Australia, we are in the very fortunate position of no community transmission of COVID for over 6 months and very few restrictions on what we are able to do. This is largely due to strict border controls with no visitors and quarantine periods for returned overseas travellers. I feel for the families affected by the travel restrictions, but so lucky to be living in our bubble (for now!).

The lack of restrictions meant that our Paper Adventures team were able to meet up for an OnStage@Home event. Organised by me and hosted by the Stand Up Stamper (Sheila Pybus), 12 of us gathered to share what we love – Stampin’ Up!

I tried to recreate all the good things about a Stampin’ Up! event and make the most of being able to have our version of an OnStage.

Everyone received a personalised goodie bag….

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

This contained a pen, OnStage themed notebook and a personalised makeup bag (or pencil case depending on what you store in there!).

Here’s some close ups of the notebook…

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

I styled it based on the OnStage@Home logo using Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party and Mango Melody cardstock. The label is from the Hippo & Friends Dies with the sentiment from the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set (in Night of Navy). The sentiment matched the theme of our team day so well and was a lovely theme to live by when using the notebook every day.

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

I invested in a heat press this year – and I have found it so useful for making personalised gifts. I usually make something for the team with their name on it when we meet for events – something they can use and keep the memories going!

Attendees also had the option to add merchandise including coffee cups, wine glasses, take home craft pack and more! This is one of the wine glasses (filled with water during the event, but I’m sure will be enjoyed with some wine this summer!).

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

The day was a mix of socialising, eating and stamping. We shared swaps, had pop up prizes and played some games.

The bag tag from the goodie bag was my swap for the day. You can see how much I love a good theme!

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

Here’s the swaps I got from the team. Such a talented group of ladies!

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

The make and take projects featured the soon to be released Dragonfly Garden stamp set, Dragonflies punch and Dandy Garden DSP. Demonstrators who registered for OnStage@Home were able to purchase these products in advance ready for some sneak peek stamping across the weekend.

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

I’ve had the privilege of seeing the new catalogue and *squeal* – you’re going to fall in love! So many new stamps, tools and accessories to add to your collection!!! The official pre-order period for demonstrators starts on 1st December 2020 (and can be added to a Starter Kit – wink wink!). OnStage@Home attendees have a small selection of products we are allowed to order early. The demonstrator perks are wonderful – a discount, early released products and a community of beautiful people to spend time with.

This is a close up of the shirt we all wore. The slogan was suggested by Narelle (Eleventh Hour Stamping), building on a saying that was on team Christmas present gifts a couple of years ago.

Here’s our lovely group from the day…

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

The day was high energy and lots of fun and I can’t wait to do it again! So many of us joined the team because we just loved the products (and discount), but it becomes so much more than that. The friendships and shared love of stamping add another layer of wonderful to the Stampin’ Up! experience. I can’t describe it to you, but you’re welcome to join our team and experience it for yourself! Email or message me to learn more about joining our Paper Adventures team. This is plane with no travel restrictions, no limits on the number of seats and it’s your choice when you hop off! (It’s also a COVID-free zone!).

If you’re local to the Bunbury area, you may want to try stamping at one of our Social Stamping session on a Monday morning. We’re there 9.30am-11am with two projects. It’s Christmas theme this term, but I can’t wait to use new catalogue products next year! Read more info here about the when & where of Social Stamping.

Lastly – this has been a long post, but it’s a fun way to keep the memories, so thank you for indulging me! I want to take this opportunity to thank my amazing team. I earned three recognition badges at OnStage@Home plus a career sales milestone. Without my team, I can confidently say, that I wouldn’t have earned any of them. They are the heart and soul of my stamping journey!

If you’re a fellow demonstrator who joined OnStage, I hope you had a wonderful time too!

Stay safe and here’s hoping we can all meet again in person for the next event!

Curvy Christmas | kelly kent

I’ve combined the stars from the curvy stamp with the Stitched Stars Dies. As always, the new products coordinate perfectly with things you’ve already got in your craft room.

The detail and curve of these dies is so pretty. I love how the sentiments are made to follow the curve as well!

Paper Adventures Team Birthdays

Spoiler alert team – if you don’t want to see what your birthday card for 2020 might look like, look away now!

I love celebrating birthdays!  They are the most common reason I make cards and for this reason, I look for stamp sets and other products that will help me create something special for someone’s special day!

When I saw that the Ladybug Dies – one of the coordinating product releases available this month – had a swirly stitched die that looked exactly like a paper aeroplane trail, I was excited!!!  My Stampin’ Up! team are called the Paper Adventures and our team motif is a paper aeroplane.

153588 Ladybug Dies $50 – Available until 31st March 2020

I’ve been very kindly gifted a fabulous Lawn Fawn paper aeroplane stamp set by a team member and use this for team cards, tags, stationary and wrapping.  This year, the team birthday cards will feature the aeroplane & swirly trail – it’s a great match!

Here’s the first one of the year…

Ladybug Dies | kelly kent

That lusciously pretty paper you see is another coordinating release – Pleased As Punch DSP.  It features 3 sheets of 4 designs and the main side coordinates with 4 different punches (Tulip Builder, Umbrella Builder, Heart Punch Pack & Small Bloom (SAB)).  The reverse side – which is what I’ve used here – is another 4 great patterns.

Ladybug Dies | kelly kent

The happy birthday sentiment is from the Little Ladybug stamp set – which is free with every $500+ order until 31st March 2020 as part of the Sale-A-Bration fiesta!

As much as I love the amazing quality of Stampin’ Up! envelopes, sometimes I change things up a little and skip on the envelope, using a cute paper bag instead.  This card is going to my birthday celebrating teamie in a Copper Dotted Treat Bag!

Ladybug Dies | kelly kent

The card plus a small gift (which I can’t show you because that really would spoil the surprise for the whole team!) fits beautifully in the bag.

I won’t give anything away, but I will share that my gifts are always personalised and always a good addition to crafting life.  Last year it was decorated notebooks everyone’s crafty ideas and notes.

Want a cute and personalised gift from me on your birthday?  Join my Stampin’ Up! team and let me spoil you.  Join now and you’ll get an early birthday present in your Starter Kit with a free stamp set, free DSP pack and free mini trimmer.  The Starter Kit is $169.  You’ll get to choose $235 of products (totally your choice, anything available on the website can be added including Clearance Rack items and special promotions such as the Coordinating Product Release). There’s no pressure to purchase anything once you’ve purchased a Starter Kit, but anything you buy while you’re an active demonstrator will be at a 20% discount and anything you sell to family/friends/customers will earn you 20% commission.

This offer is available to any Australian resident over 18 years of age who is not already joined with another craft company.  Click here to take advantage of this amazing offer.

My team loves being part of our Stampin’ Up! family and I know you will too!

Just Add Ink #490 | Add an Easel

Thank you so much to everyone that entered our start to 2020 challenge (#488 – Celebration).  If you were one of the winners, please make sure to email the JAI blog to claim your prize.

Image may contain: possible text that says 'Join the challenge! Just Add İnk justaddink.blogspot.com.au Just Add an Easel Challenge #490'

This week Lou has challenged us to “Add an Easel”.  Of course, this could be an easel style fancy fold – or you could incorporate an easel into your project design like Tina did.  Click here to see all the design team creations and add your project to our gallery.

I wanted a fresh easel for this challenge – one I haven’t tried before.  While searching for cool easel ideals, I came across a Triple Easel Card designed by Nicole Wilson.  Nicole has very kindly put together all the measurements and instructions which you can purchase by clicking here.  Tutorials are a fabulous time saver and worth every penny to the designer!

Triple Easel Card | kelly kent

This style of easel card has three layers of easels (as the name suggests).  The back layer is created using the card base and the front two layers are created using DSP.

Triple Easel Card | kelly kentBecause all our DSP is double sided, it creates a wonderful contrast.  I’ve used the Peaceful Poppies DSP.  The colours and patterns in this DSP are absolutely gorgeous!

The colours for this card are Old Olive and Blackberry Bliss.

The flowers & leaves are cut using the Poppy Moments Dies from the Peaceful Poppies suite.  I wanted a variation in colour, so the back layer of the flower is cut using the Lily Impressions DSP* (*free during Sale-A-Bration).  Again, Stampin’ Up! shows its versatility with coordinating products both within the suite and across the range.

Triple Easel Card | kelly kent

The red poppies in the middle layer are from the Peaceful Poppies Elements – they come coloured and ready to add to your project!

Triple Easel Card | kelly kent

I’ve used the stamps from the Painted Poppies stamp set to provide coordinating patterns on the card base.  These images were stamped in Versamark and clear heat embossed for a subtle tone-on-tone effect.

Triple Easel Card | kelly kent

As with any good fancy fold design, it all folds up to regular card size ready for posting or delivering in an envelope.

Triple Easel Card | kelly kent

This card was delivered today to my newest recruit, Tanya, who took advantage of the great Starter Kit deal available during Sale-A-Bration.  Tanya received $235 of products, a bonus stamp set, a DSP sampler and a mini trimmer all for $165.  Oh, and FREE SHIPPING!!!

While she remains an active demonstrator (which will be until at least 31st July 2020), she is able to purchase all the items on her Stampin’ Up! shopping list at a 20% discount.  If she wants to, she can sell to family, friends or customers and receive an income on their purchases.

This offer is available to any Australian resident between now and 31st March 2020.  It’s great for anyone who loves a great deal on their stamping products.  The most common question I get asked is “what if I don’t make the minimum quarterly spend”? (which at the moment is $468 at retail prices – you’ll get your discount off that!).  The answer is nothing.  You get to keep all the items in your Starter Kit and you simply change from demonstrator to customer.  It’s a no-risk opportunity that I encourage everyone to take up.  You have nothing to lose and a whole team of lovely crafters ready to welcome you.

Want to join Tanya this Sale-A-Bration and join my Paper Adventures team?  Click here to purchase your Starter Kit, or message me to chat if you have more questions.

Welcome to the team Tanya – it’s so lovely to have you!

Happy New Year, Happy New Catalogue 2020!

01.01.20_DHEADER_GOLIVE_JJ_MC_SP

I love the promise a new year holds.  I’ve always been a fan of numbers, so 2020 seems like a number that will hold many possibilities.  I hope it’s wonderful for you & your family.

I was very lucky over the Christmas break to take some time away with my family in the beautiful south of Australia.  We visited Esperance – the town where my husband grew up.  We spent time with family, camped on the white sand of the beach and soaked up some glorious sun.  We came back recharged, a little sun-kissed and with some great new memories.

Team Kent 2020 | kelly kent

Returning home (with more washing than I cared for), it was nice to get back into my craft room and have a play with some of my new products from the 2020 Jan-June Mini Catalogue.  If you live in Australia and don’t yet have a copy of this super pretty catalogue, please let me know and I’ll send one to you.  You can also view it online by clicking here.

Here’s a quick video by Stampin’ Up! that shares some of the lovely products on offer…

I may or may not have the whole thing on my wishlist!!!  Placing an order is easy.  Simply shop in my online store or message me to order direct.

2. Earn a free stamp set when your order (or combined orders with family & friends) are over $500.

3. Join my Paper Adventures team.  This is my favourite special of Sale-A-Bration because it’s a fabulous deal and you’ll be welcomed into the Stampin’ Up! family for as long as you want to stay.

During SAB 2020, join my Paper Adventures team by purchasing a fully customisable Starter Kit for $169.  Choose $235 of products (whichever ones you want), enjoy free shipping and also receive a 6″ Mini Paper Cutter, DSP pack and a free stamp set of your choice.  Once joined, you’ll get 20% discount on any Stampin’ Up! you purchase or sell until at least 31st July 2020.  If you don’t meet the minimum sales requirement ($468 retail), then you simply stop being active and switch back to being a customer.

Click here to join (search for our team by clicking on Demonstrator Directory and then entering my details – Kelly Kent, Dalyellup, 6230 WA). If you need any help with joining, please get in touch with me by Facebook or email.

If you’d like to see any of the 2020 Mini Catalogue products in action, I’m available in the greater Bunbury area to run a workshop in your home with family & friends.  I will also be back running Social Stamping from Feb, so make sure to subscribe to my blog for updates or follow my Facebook page.
