Paper Adventures Team Hop | In with the new

Hello! We all made it to the end of the week! How was yours? I’ve had a really lovely week filled with work, stamping, and family – all of which brought me great happiness.

I’ve also had the pleasure of sharing quite a few projects with you this week as part of my design team commitments and tonight’s a fabulous hop with my Paper Adventures Team. The theme is ‘In with the new’ and I can’t wait for the team to show you all the ‘new’ crafting they’ve been doing.

We welcome my gorgeous friend Narelle Farrugia, Artisan Design Team alumni, as our guest designer. Thanks for joining us Narelle – so great to have you share your talents on our blog hop.

My project from today uses my very favourite suite from the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue – Expressions in Ink. I love every part of this – the stamp set (great sentiments), the die set (amazing centrepiece die), the DSP (oh my – watercolour!) and the ephemera pack (bling!).

I used all the elements of the suite to make this sweet card for a new team member who joined our Paper Adventures team during the Join+ promotion. Christine purchased her Starter Kit for $169 and received $283 of her favourite Stampin’ Up! products with free shipping and a discount on all her future purchases until at least the end of October 2021. If you’d like to take advantage of this great offer, click here to join.

The big floral die in the Artistic Dies adds a wonderful wow factor to all your projects. You can use it plain, cut the pieces apart or add stamped flowers behind the die cut like I have in this card.

The dies in the set also cut the stamped flowers and leaves from the coordinating Artistically Inked stamp set. This set has a watercolour effect. Christina Wrede shared a great tip on Instagram during the week to apply ink to your watercolour style stamps with a blending brush. I found that a combination of techniques worked for me – inking directly from the ink pad and then smoothing the ink out with a blending brush was perfect.

The DSP has gold foiling on one side of each of the patterns – it’s so wonderfully deluxe! The ephemera pack has gold die cut accents and adhesive backed sequins that add the perfect finishing touch to all your projects. Stampin’ Up! have kindly provided a suite code – 155459 – for this great product range – making it easy to order it all at once (because you know you *need* it!).

To shop your favourite Stampin’ Up! products – head over to my online store. Stampin’ Up! offers amazingly low shipping of $5.95 for all orders under $120 and just 5% for overs over $120. Have it delivered to your door and be crafting with new products in no time at all.

Next stop on the team blogging adventure is Narelle Farrugia – I know you’ll love what she’s made, I always do!

Thanks for joining us, I hope you have a great weekend! I have more projects to share with you across the weekend, so I’ll see you then! To get every new post straight to your email address, fill in the subscription form below

2021 Annual Catalogue | It’s go time

There’s nothing more exciting than a new catalogue! Pretty pages filled with new things you “have to have”. Hopefully you’ve got a hard copy already hanging out in your house. If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the link to the online PDF. You can also message me to request a copy.

Unlike previous catalogue cycles, the 2021 Jan-June Mini Catalogue hasn’t retired yet. So, you currently have two catalogues to shop from – the Mini and the new Annual. This means you can combine old and new favourites – a pairing that hasn’t happened before!

We’ve been enjoying seeing the new In Colors in action across April as demonstrator’s preorders arrived. They are Fresh Freesia, Polished Pink, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Pale Papaya.

I’ve combined Polished Pink, Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent with the Wrapped Bouquet bundle from the Jan-June Mini Catalogue.

There’s two different bouquet options and two different ways you can wrap them in this set. I shared the other style of bouquet in posts here and here (click on the links to check them out if you missed them).

This style of bouquet has such pretty flower and I really love the 3D effect of the newspaper wrap. The die embosses all the folds required, so you cut out one piece and then fold.

If you want to, you can stamp the newspaper print on the folded wrap but I love it as a background accent for this card. I’ve cut three Very Vanilla Stitched Rectangles in the same size and stamped them in Sahara Sand ink.

The flowers for the bouquet are stamped in Soft Succulent with fussy cut Polished Pink accent flowers. I used a section of the Polished Pink stamped image that didn’t have flowers to cut the heart – using a die from the Kangaroo Dies set.

The final touches for this card are the twine holding the tag on and the Happy Mother’s Day sentiment. It’s cut using the now retired Stitched Shapes Die but until I wait for some of my new catalogue things to arrive, that was the perfect shape for what this card needed. Retired doesn’t mean our relationship is over! Some Stampin’ Up! is forever!

What’s your idea of the perfect Mother’s Day gift? Does a handmade card with a Stampin’ Up! Gift voucher sound perfect? Start dropping hints now. I can provide your family with the card and gift voucher! Give them my details and I’ll take care of the rest!

If you do all the shopping in your house including Stampin’ Up!, then jump on over to my online store (click here) to order yourself a little happy mail.

There’s two great offers running in May –

JOIN – and receive a Starter Kit of your choice of $283 products for just $169. You’ve enjoy the Stampin’ Up! discount until at least October 2021, receive the next round of catalogues early, have access to preorder for the Aug-Dec Mini and next Sale-A-Bration and get adopted into our fabulous Paper Adventures team! Click here to purchase your Starter Kit. Have questions? Message me and I’ll answer them all.

Happy new catalogue!!!

Party Puffins + 2021-23 In Colors

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators were able to order new catalogue Stampin’ Up! supplies a couple of weeks ago and I was excited to have my box land on my doorstep early this week. Housework neglected, bedtime ignored – it was so much fun to unpack and play with the gorgeous products.

Most of my box contained an assortment of products in the brand new 2021-2023 In Colors. Introducing…

They are a such a pretty mix! Do you have an early favourite? I love how well they coordinate together – ready for a range of styles of stamping.

Another cute little new addition in my box was the Party Puffins stamp set. The black stamping of the puffins was the perfect contrast to show off the new In Color range.

Dancing their way into our hearts, these puffins are definitely stealing the show from the pre-order list.

EVENING EVERGREEN

PALE PAPAYA

POLISHED PINK

FRESH FREESIA

SOFT SUCCULENT

As well as the In Color cardstock used for the card bases, there’s also Stampin’ Blends in each colour, a stack of DSP in 4 different patterns and sweet little gems.

The top layer of the card base has been cut using a new die from a set you’re going to want to have called Basic Borders. It’s going to add a great textural finish to your projects in 2021.

If you love the idea of having early access to all your favourite Stampin’ Up! products, you’ll be excited to hear that all the items you see on these projects are available on preorder and can be added to a Stampin’ Up! Starter Kit. $169 for your choice of $235 of products including free shipping and then a 20% discount on all the orders you place until October 2021. If this sounds like a deal you’d like to get on board with, click here to buy your Starter Kit. If you have any questions, please message me.

Social Stamping | brights

Hi there! Thanks for joining me and my Stampin’ friends for the first Social Stamping Blog Host of 2021. I started these hops in 2020 as a way to stay connected during the pandemic. I had no idea at the time we’d still be sharing projects as a group almost a year later! To see the full list of participants for today’s hop, click here to view the main blog host post.

The theme for today is the Brights Colour Collection. I think this is the happiest range of colours and projects made with these colours are fun and bold and interesting.

I’ve used the Brights DSP Stack – which is currently available in the Starter Kit for anyone who joins Stampin’ Up! during Sale-A-Bration. Sale-A-Bration finishes tomorrow (9pm WA time) so please message me this weekend on Facebook, Instagram, leave a comment here or send me an email if you need more information. Or, if you know how it works and you’re ready to join my Paper Adventures team, you can purchase your Starter Kit by clicking here. If it doesn’t find me automatically as your demonstrator, you can search for me using my name “Kelly Kent’ and location “Dalyellup’.

I made two cards for this hop so I could use all 10 colours in the Brights collection – Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape.

Brights | kelly kent

The first card uses Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Poppy Parade, Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight.

Brights | kelly kent

I cut the Detailed Hearts Die in Basic White cardstock and then again in the DSP so I could layer the hearts within the frame. So I didn’t waste any of the DSP, I cut 1.5″ strips of each colour and then cut out just the segments of hearts I needed.

I won’t lie, this card was time consuming – but it’s worth placing each of those little hearts into the space and filling it up with pretty colour.

Brights | kelly kent

The sentiment for both cards is from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set – white heat embossed on black cardstock as I love the contrast of black, white and the pop of colour from the Brights.

The second card has been swirling around my mind for a while – I’ve had feathers on the brain! And the combination of Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape seemed like the perfect colour combination to make it come to life.

Brights | kelly kent

The feather die is from the Nature’s Thoughts Dies. The pretty scallop edge is from the Be Mine Stitched Dies. And the die I’ve used for the hello there sentiment is from the Hippo & Friends Dies.

Brights | kelly kent

Next up on the blog hop for some more bright creations is my gorgeous team member Lisa Whitehead. Lisa took advantage of a joining special with Stampin’ Up! a couple of years ago and has just celebrated her 2 year Stampinversary.

If you’d like to get your hands of 5 packs (200 sheets!) of DSP just for buying a Stampin’ Up! Starter Kit, then now is the time. This DSP will be available in the upcoming catalogue released in May 2021, so you’ll be among the first to have it in your stash. Click here to start adding items to the Starter Kit.

Thanks for hopping with us today. We look forward to sharing another colour collection again next month.

Twas the Week Before Christmas | Team Gifts

Hello! It’s been a very quiet blogging month for me. Behind the scenes I’ve been spending almost every night crafting up a storm, which has left very little time to share those projects with you. Blogging is a delicate balance – too much time spent photographing, editing, watermarking, uploading and writing posts means too little time spent making!!!

The balance is important here at Papercraft HQ. My time is always a juggle between mummy duties, paid work (I’m a paediatric Speech Pathologist) and having a social life of my own! I don’t think I always got it right in 2020, but on reflection, its been a year full of lots of amazing, so I can’t complain!

To catch up on what I’ve been up to, I’m aiming to share a project a day with you for the rest of 2020. The week it’s all about Christmas. If you’re a deadline crafter like me, then you may still have some cards to make in the lead up to Christmas. If you’re all done and dusted on Christmas crafting for 2020, then make sure to save your favourites to Pinterest for next year’s creative endeavours!

Today’s project to share is my team gifts for 2020. This year our team celebrated twice – a lunch in Mandurah (the half way point between our Perth & Bunbury teamies) and a lunch and team class in Bunbury.

The concept for the jars started as a ‘motivation pot’. I wanted the team to have something on their desk that they could dip into when they were feeling a little low on crafty mojo. What better way to inspire creativity than a little sugar?

Team Gifts 2020 | kelly kent

I also stamped and added some positive sayings from a beautiful Uniquely Creative set I was gifted by a friend. If sugar doesn’t do the trick, then hopefully some words of affirmation help to get those creative juices flowing again!

Team Gifts 2020 | kelly kent

The jars for the project were from Kmart. The rainbow was the inspiration for the accompanying tag – and has become my motif for this Christmas. It was drawn freehand with the brush end of Stampin’ Blends, which means I can create it in any colour and match it to the project or wrapping. The stamps are from the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set (a little christmas wish), Ridiculously Awesome stamp set (heart) and my name is from a personalised stamp I own. I’ve been using Night of Navy and other dark inks lots this festive season an an alternative to black. They stamp so nice and bold!

Team Gifts 2020 | kelly kent

The saying on the top resonated with me and I hope with the team too. I’m a big believer in the philosophy of our actions and reactions being a choice. I choose kind as my action and positive as my reaction and outlook. I’m looking forward to reading a book recommended by Stampin’ Up! CEO Sara Douglass called Adversity is the Way by Ryan Holiday (some good “holiday” reading – pun intended!!!).

Team Gifts 2020 | kelly kent

Lucky for me our team is wonderful and so supportive of each other in both our creative endeavours and everyday life.

There’s always room for more on our Paper Adventures team, so if you love stamping, we’d love to have you join us and craft the live you love. Click here to purchase your Stampin’ Up! Starter Kit and join us!

Have a great week! Christmas countdown is on!!!

Just Add Ink #534 | colour challenge

Hello December! Have things starting Jingle Bell-ing at your house yet? For the first time ever, we put our tree up early this year, before the traditional 1st December. It’s one of my most hated jobs, so I tasked Mr Papercraft & the Minis with tree construction & decoration and took off to my Stampin’ Up! team Christmas party! Win-win!!! They did a great job!

The theme for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge isn’t specifically Christmas, but the colours do lend themselves to a classic Christmas theme, so I know we’re going to see a lot of festive crafting. We’d love for you to join the challenge – click here to visit the main JAI blog and add your project to our gallery.

My creation for this challenge uses the stamp set from the Joy to the World Paper Pumpkin Kit. You won’t find this is in the catalogue – it’s a special purchase available exclusively to Stampin’ Up! customers while stocks last. You get materials to make 8 fabulous Christmas cards, but also a stamp set and Just Jade ink spot. The stamp set is what drew me in – a beautiful font and pretty theme!

Joy to the World | kelly kent

Although clean and simple (CAS) in the design with lots of white to complete the challenge colours, there’s a bit of fussy cutting in this card for the wreath and flower. Perhaps not ideal for mass production, but a great way to pass some time while watching a favourite TV show.

I’ve coloured the images for the card using a combination of Stampin’ Blends and Stampin’ Write Markers. Though I don’t generally colour large spaces with Stampin’ Write Markers, they are a great option for smaller spaces when there’s not a Blend available in the colour you want (for this card it was Pear Pizzazz for the leaves).

Joy to the World | kelly kent

The embossing folder is one of the mini style (Greenery – from the Annual Catalogue). I have exciting mini news to share with you!!! The Mini Stamp and Cut Embossing Machine is available now as a pre-order for demonstrators and in January for customers. That means you can buy it during Sale-A-Bration (which starts 5th Jan 2021) and get a free Sale-A-Bration item!!!

If you can’t wait til then – my advice is to join my Paper Adventures team and add it to your Starter Kit. You’ll get to choose the Mini S&CEM plus another $131 of products and you’ll only pay $169 with free shipping and a 20% discount on everything you buy while you are an active demonstrator. Plus, you’ll join our amazing team (well, I think we’re amazing!). Click here to visit the join page or message me for more information (Facebook, Instagram, email).

Joy to the World | kelly kent

Since this stamp set has such a beautiful font and a verse that’s perfect for the inside of the card, I embellished the middle to. My stamping straight in the middle of a card tip is to stamp on a smaller piece, cut it out with a cute framelit (I’ve used the Stitched Rectangle Dies) and then adhere it to your card middle. No more wonky stamping or wasted card stock. You could also use your Stamparatus to line it up.

I’ve had a look at the design team cards for this week – and it seems that the Joy to the World stamp set is popuar with a few of us! Click here to see all the design team cards and to enter one of your projects for the challenge.

Have a great weekend!

OnStage@Home | Nov 2020 Recap

In the true style of 2020, our Novemeber OnStage experience was different to the celebrations of previous years. This event was presented online and we watched and stamped from the comforts of our homes.

Here in Western Australia, we are in the very fortunate position of no community transmission of COVID for over 6 months and very few restrictions on what we are able to do. This is largely due to strict border controls with no visitors and quarantine periods for returned overseas travellers. I feel for the families affected by the travel restrictions, but so lucky to be living in our bubble (for now!).

The lack of restrictions meant that our Paper Adventures team were able to meet up for an OnStage@Home event. Organised by me and hosted by the Stand Up Stamper (Sheila Pybus), 12 of us gathered to share what we love – Stampin’ Up!

I tried to recreate all the good things about a Stampin’ Up! event and make the most of being able to have our version of an OnStage.

Everyone received a personalised goodie bag….

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

This contained a pen, OnStage themed notebook and a personalised makeup bag (or pencil case depending on what you store in there!).

Here’s some close ups of the notebook…

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

I styled it based on the OnStage@Home logo using Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party and Mango Melody cardstock. The label is from the Hippo & Friends Dies with the sentiment from the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set (in Night of Navy). The sentiment matched the theme of our team day so well and was a lovely theme to live by when using the notebook every day.

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

I invested in a heat press this year – and I have found it so useful for making personalised gifts. I usually make something for the team with their name on it when we meet for events – something they can use and keep the memories going!

Attendees also had the option to add merchandise including coffee cups, wine glasses, take home craft pack and more! This is one of the wine glasses (filled with water during the event, but I’m sure will be enjoyed with some wine this summer!).

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

The day was a mix of socialising, eating and stamping. We shared swaps, had pop up prizes and played some games.

The bag tag from the goodie bag was my swap for the day. You can see how much I love a good theme!

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

Here’s the swaps I got from the team. Such a talented group of ladies!

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

The make and take projects featured the soon to be released Dragonfly Garden stamp set, Dragonflies punch and Dandy Garden DSP. Demonstrators who registered for OnStage@Home were able to purchase these products in advance ready for some sneak peek stamping across the weekend.

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

I’ve had the privilege of seeing the new catalogue and *squeal* – you’re going to fall in love! So many new stamps, tools and accessories to add to your collection!!! The official pre-order period for demonstrators starts on 1st December 2020 (and can be added to a Starter Kit – wink wink!). OnStage@Home attendees have a small selection of products we are allowed to order early. The demonstrator perks are wonderful – a discount, early released products and a community of beautiful people to spend time with.

This is a close up of the shirt we all wore. The slogan was suggested by Narelle (Eleventh Hour Stamping), building on a saying that was on team Christmas present gifts a couple of years ago.

Here’s our lovely group from the day…

OnStage@Home 2020 | kelly kent

The day was high energy and lots of fun and I can’t wait to do it again! So many of us joined the team because we just loved the products (and discount), but it becomes so much more than that. The friendships and shared love of stamping add another layer of wonderful to the Stampin’ Up! experience. I can’t describe it to you, but you’re welcome to join our team and experience it for yourself! Email or message me to learn more about joining our Paper Adventures team. This is plane with no travel restrictions, no limits on the number of seats and it’s your choice when you hop off! (It’s also a COVID-free zone!).

If you’re local to the Bunbury area, you may want to try stamping at one of our Social Stamping session on a Monday morning. We’re there 9.30am-11am with two projects. It’s Christmas theme this term, but I can’t wait to use new catalogue products next year! Read more info here about the when & where of Social Stamping.

Lastly – this has been a long post, but it’s a fun way to keep the memories, so thank you for indulging me! I want to take this opportunity to thank my amazing team. I earned three recognition badges at OnStage@Home plus a career sales milestone. Without my team, I can confidently say, that I wouldn’t have earned any of them. They are the heart and soul of my stamping journey!

If you’re a fellow demonstrator who joined OnStage, I hope you had a wonderful time too!

Stay safe and here’s hoping we can all meet again in person for the next event!
