Just Add Ink #365 – Sketch

We’re having fun today with a sketch challenge – one of my favourite types!

This little gem was created by Karren.

No automatic alt text available.

I have combined the sketch with some retired Valentines Day products to create a Christmas themed card.

Who said you can’t mix your holidays???

Do you love the new Christmas set – Merry Mistletoe?  Reindeers are my favourite Christmas motif (even more so than trees!) and it comes with such lovely sentiments.

It was generously gifted to me by a demonstrator friend – thanks Kathryn, I love it!

The reindeer looks lovely in Real Red ink with clear embossing!

Have you done this before?

Simply ink your stamp in Versamark, then in the actual colour (Real Red in this case) and then stamp as usual.  Coat the image in clear embossing powder and heat set.  Using this technique, you can create embossing powder in any colour you own!

I had fun with this direct copy of the sketch layout and decided to create a second version using a z-fold layout.

The elements are mostly the same – which is a fun way to create two same-same-but-different cards using the same materials.

I loved being able to use my retired Valentine’s Day stash.  Red & white is a perfect Christmas theme.

Things that have disappeared from the catalogue don’t become useless – there’s always a fabulous project around the corner waiting for those long hoarded collected items!

We’d love for you to join us this week and create your own masterpiece based on the sketch.
