Social Stamping | Sweet Ice Cream

We enjoyed a public holiday last Monday in Western Australia, which means we didn’t run Social Stamping. We’re looking forward to getting inky again tomorrow at the Taste of Dalyellup cafe from 9.30am – 11am. This week’s theme is “fun” – the cards are light hearted, suitable for all ages and not a flower in sight!

Here’s a sneak peak at one of the cards on offer using the Sweet Ice Cream bundle…

I always try to provide two different samples at a class to give stampers a couple of ideas on how to use the pieces in their kit to create a card. Free spirit creativity is always welcome to create your own version!

The portrait version of this card uses the Mint Macaron card base, white border and Mint Macaron card front embossed with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder.

The sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set has been fussy cut and adhered next to the ice cream stack. How yummy does ice cream look in Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron and Highland Heather!!! To add some sparkle and texture to the ice cream, I finished with Shimmery Crystal Effects.

The landscape version of this card didn’t use the Mint Macaron card front and instead has more white space.

There’s no fussy cutting in this card – I know that will make some crafters happy!!! The whole card base has been run through the Painted Texture embossing folder – which is a favourite technique of mine.

This bundle is a stamp and punch set – which makes it super easy to use and very affordable to add to your collection. We hope to see you tomorrow at Social Stamping (Taste of Dalyellup cafe) so you can try it out in person.

See you tomorrow!

Perennials Petals & Ice Cream Punch Art

It’s the last day of school holidays here in WA, so it seemed fitting to end the summer holidays with some ice cream! When I got out the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle, this was not the card I thought I’d be making. But somehow I fell down the messy rabbit hole that is punch art, and made this –

Isn’t she just the sweetest? I haven’t used the Perennial Petals Dies for flowers but they are a dream for people punch art!

Here’s the breakdown of the punch art pieces

The Ice Cream Corner DSP is full of pretty colours and patterns. I’ve used it for the card background (cut with the Curvy Dies), the dress and the ice cream parts. There’s patterns that work well for the ice cream and the cone. Or you can use the stamp set to create any colour ice cream your heart desires.

The finishing touches for the card are a cute little sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set in Old Olive and a scatter of Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles.

And that’s a wrap on our summer holidays! First day of school tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing all the first day of school photos across Facebook – but don’t forget to lock down your security settings and keep the sharing to your immediate circle only.
