2021 Annual Catalogue | It’s go time

There’s nothing more exciting than a new catalogue! Pretty pages filled with new things you “have to have”. Hopefully you’ve got a hard copy already hanging out in your house. If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the link to the online PDF. You can also message me to request a copy.

Unlike previous catalogue cycles, the 2021 Jan-June Mini Catalogue hasn’t retired yet. So, you currently have two catalogues to shop from – the Mini and the new Annual. This means you can combine old and new favourites – a pairing that hasn’t happened before!

We’ve been enjoying seeing the new In Colors in action across April as demonstrator’s preorders arrived. They are Fresh Freesia, Polished Pink, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Pale Papaya.

I’ve combined Polished Pink, Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent with the Wrapped Bouquet bundle from the Jan-June Mini Catalogue.

There’s two different bouquet options and two different ways you can wrap them in this set. I shared the other style of bouquet in posts here and here (click on the links to check them out if you missed them).

This style of bouquet has such pretty flower and I really love the 3D effect of the newspaper wrap. The die embosses all the folds required, so you cut out one piece and then fold.

If you want to, you can stamp the newspaper print on the folded wrap but I love it as a background accent for this card. I’ve cut three Very Vanilla Stitched Rectangles in the same size and stamped them in Sahara Sand ink.

The flowers for the bouquet are stamped in Soft Succulent with fussy cut Polished Pink accent flowers. I used a section of the Polished Pink stamped image that didn’t have flowers to cut the heart – using a die from the Kangaroo Dies set.

The final touches for this card are the twine holding the tag on and the Happy Mother’s Day sentiment. It’s cut using the now retired Stitched Shapes Die but until I wait for some of my new catalogue things to arrive, that was the perfect shape for what this card needed. Retired doesn’t mean our relationship is over! Some Stampin’ Up! is forever!

What’s your idea of the perfect Mother’s Day gift? Does a handmade card with a Stampin’ Up! Gift voucher sound perfect? Start dropping hints now. I can provide your family with the card and gift voucher! Give them my details and I’ll take care of the rest!

Stamp Review Crew | Dressed to Impress

Hello and welcome to the safest way to travel the world at the moment – through an international blog hop!  You’re currently visiting Kelly Kent in the South West of Australia, having jumped over from Nikki Spencer on the eastern coast.  This is my favourite beach to take the kids to swim – the inner harbour.  It’s always calm and is a great shallow depth for the kids to splash around in.

With COVID-19 having impact across the globe, I want to take the chance to give you a virtual hug and pass on my thoughts that you are all healthy & safe.

This virus is somewhat all consuming at the moment – it’s on tv, in social media and in everyday conversations.  In fact, unless you are in total media & social blackout, it’s very hard to avoid.  And that can be overwhelming and scary.  I love this Fred Rogers quote – look for the helpers!

No photo description available.

Scientists are rapidly building their knowledge of the virus and it’s behaviour, our public health teams are working around the clock to give guidance on policy & procedures that will keep us as safe as we know how and our global medical teams are amazingly taking care of business as people become unwell.

For anyone who ends up in some form of quarantine, isolation or social distancing, I hope your craft room provides you with some solace.  If there was ever a time to hibernate and craft til your heart is content – this is it!

The Stamp Review Crew are today sharing projects inspired by the Dressed to Impress stamp set and Best Dressed suite.  We hope we can provide you with some inspiration on how to use your supplies at home.

I love the mix of floral and cosmetic images in this suite.  So I’ve mixed those two themes to create this sweet card.

The card base & base layer are Rococo Rose cardstock with Subtle Embossing Folder.  The background flowers were stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then coloured in Stampin Blends (Rococo Rose, Pink Pirouette, Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock).

The centrepiece is labels from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies in Blushing Bride & Mint Macaron with a perfume bottle stamped in Memento & coloured with Rococo Rose & Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends. I love being able to make the perfume pink.  The matching dies (All Dressed Up) take away the need to fussy cut any of these images!

While I was studying at university to be a Speech Pathologist, I worked at a department store, and for most of my 5 years there, I worked in the cosmetics department.  I spent my weekends selling lotions & potions, perfumes & sprays, lipsticks & eyeshadows.  The perfumes in particular were always so mesmerising, in their fancy bottles and with their beautiful scents.  Chanel #5 is undoubtedly one their most recognised scents, but the pretty pink “Chance” was one of my favourites!

I’ve made this card into a Mother’s Day card, which is very organised for last-minute-me!  Please remind me of where I have stored it in 2 months time!!!

Next visit is to Charlet Mallett in the US –

Thank you for joining us!

These Little Piggies Say “Happy Mother’s Day”

I’ve been able to convince the Little Piggies that they needed to come for another holiday at my house.

They were Nanna Papercraft’s Prize Patrol stamp set from OnStage (visit her on the Paper Adventures team blog here), but she has been very generous in letting me borrow them.

I can’t order my set until the catalogue starts in June!!!

I thought the cute little piggies would make great Mother’s Day cards.

Though this set doesn’t specifically have sentiments for Mother’s Day, I was able to add in other sets in my collection to create this theme.

You could do the same for birthdays!

I’ve used the Playful Palette DSP for the backgrounds – it’s on the retirement list at the moment (at a discount!).

Since Sweet Sugarplum is one of my favourite colours, and the piggy is pink – it was perfect for these cards!!!  The orange was just a bright & cheerful bonus!

The first card uses the ‘because of you’ stamp from Oh So Succulent and the Mother’s Day stamp from Circle of Spring.

I thought they worked well together with the happy flying pig!

I love the piggy in the next card – it’s just so happy!

I masked out the ‘you make me’ above the happy and added in the Mother’s Day sentiment from the Thoughtful Banner stamp set.

And the final card is actually where this trio started!

This Little Piggy says, Happy Mother’s Day!

These three cards will be part of my market stock for Monday’s open house!

Happiness is doing things you enjoy – and a large part of that for me is making pretty things for others to delight in!

I hope there’s some inspiration in these cards for everyone!

We all spend so much time on the internet – blogs, Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook!

Translate all those good ideas into some craft projects of you own.

Whether you take some elements of a card and make it your own, or if you copy the whole card and get your craft on!

Happy crafting,

This Little Piggy (available 1st June 2017) plus these great Mother’s Day stamp sets…

Just Add Ink #352 Colour Challenge

This week at Just Add Ink, we’re playing with colours.

These colours, that were suggested by Nikki.

They are oh-so-pretty and I can’t wait to see what you all come up with.

I wanted these colours to be the ‘pop’ among a white CAS (clean and simple) card.

So, I’ve used my favourite lady from the Beautiful You stamp set to create this ‘thinking of you’ card.

Have you seen this technique before – where you stamp onto patterned paper, cut it out and stick it over your stamped image.

It’s called paper piercing.  And it works so well with the Beautiful You ladies.

After making this version, I decided I wanted a happier one, so created another version with the dancing lady…

It seemed fun – and perfect for Mother’s Day with the pink & blue theme.

Please visit the Just Add Ink blog and see the beautiful creations the other design team members have made.

You can also join in the challenge there with your one Tempting Turquoise, Flirty Flamingo & Smoky Slate delight.
