Colour INKspiration #54

Hello!  It’s time for another Colour INKspiration challenge – possibly one of my favourites of all time.  Which is crazy – because it’s so simple.  Black & white plus a pop of colour.  But the simplicity is what makes it awesome.

No photo description available.

I can’t wait for you to see what the crew have come up with this week.

You may have hopped here from the gorgeous Anne Matasci.  Anne won Colour INKspiration #52 and joins us for this hope as our guest designer.  I just love her card – and I know she loves the theme as much as I do!

To join us and share your card for Colour INKspiration #54, find us on Facebook.  Click here to visit the group.

I could have made a million cards with this colour combination (if only time would allow), but sharing this sweet card made with a few items that will join the retirement hall of fame very soon.

The stamp set is from the Stampin’ Rewards section of the catalogue – Hand Delivered, the embossing folder is Petal Pair and the DSP is from the Brights stack.

My pop of colour is Bermuda Bay.  But like so many of the cards on this blog hop, you could sub in any pop of colour that was your favourite to change up the design.

Now that we’re using our fireplace to combat the cold weather, I’m experimenting with different locations to take photos of my cards. I love being back in the outdoors with all that natural light!

Next stop on the Colour INKspiration blog hop is my beautiful friend Nikki Spencer.

Thanks for hopping with us!

Hand Delivered Books

Stampin’ Up! have released some spectacular host sets in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.  They are available for purchase at exclusive prices with your Stampin’ Rewards. Stampin’ Rewards are earned on any order of $250+ (before shipping).  Hold a workshop, combine orders with friends/family or get everything on your wishlist – there’s lots of ways to make it happen!

One of my favourite host sets is Hand Delivered.  It’s a builder set, with interchangeable pieces for a gorgeous lady who holds all kinds of things to make your card fit the theme.

The balloons are great for birthdays, the cake for weddings & engagements and you can add any small sentiment to the sign to make your own theme.

I’ve used the books for a congratulations card for a friend who has finished some further studies.  I have lots more uses in mind for book worm friends, librarian friends, teachers….. a stack of books is just so versatile!

There’s quite a trend for pocket cards at the moment – lead by my gorgeous friends Jackie Aitken & Bronwyn Eastley.  They are quick & easy to make and offer something different than a standard card.

To make this card I cut a piece of A4 cardstock to 5-7/8″ (across the 8-1/4″ side) and scored at 3-7/8″ from each long edge.  I then cut diagonally from each bottom corner up towards the scored line.  Fold in and adhere the triangle flaps where they cross over & along the bottom edge.

We all make cards, but do you send them?  I challenge you to get a card in the mail, someone’s hand or drop it in a letterbox this week.  There’s nothing more special than happy mail!

Kelly’s Stamping Friends – Birthday Blog Hop A

No automatic alt text available.

Hello!  It’s my birthday and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than a blog hop with my fabulous stamping friends.

Actually, I’m feeling very loved on my birthday evening as I hop with two wonderful groups of stamping friends.

This is blog hop A – the first list.  There’s another thread which features blog hop B – the second list (click here to visit).  You don’t want to miss the creations on the other side!!!

There’s no theme for tonight.  Everyone is simply sharing with us something they’ve made that they love.  In this crazy busy life, we sometimes need an excuse just to create for fun, for love and to be creative.

My birthday falls at a wonderful time of the Stampin’ Up! catalogue cycle.  I get to spoil myself each year with new Stampin’ Up! and call them birthday presents.

The card I am sharing for blog hop A uses some of those birthday presents – Share What You Love DSP, Hand Delivered (Host) stamp set & Lined Alphabet stamp set.

Hand Delivered Pop Up Slider Card | kelly kent

This style of card is called a Pop Up Slider Card and I first saw it for my birthday a couple of years ago when Nicole Wilson sent one to me!

The middle panel slides up to reveal a hidden message in the centre.

For this card, I added to the birthday message using the Lined Alphabet stamp set messily coloured (to match the style of the DSP) using the Stampin’ Blends.

The balloons are also coloured with the Blends.  Currently they are unorderable, but they’ll be back soon with new colours in the collection!!!  I’m excited to get my hands on those!

This special card will be going to my birthday buddy – my mother-in-law!

Do you have a birthday buddy?  Someone you share your celebrations with every year?

Many thank you to all my stamping friends who have joined me today to share in my celebrations through this hop!

Next up on hop A is my stamping bestie – Lou Kitzelman.  So happy she’s part of my birthday!
