Stamp Review Crew | Coming Home

Hello! Thanks for joining us for our second edition of Stamp Review Crew for November 2020. We hop on the first and third Monday of each month, sharing projects we’ve made using a selected Stampin’ Up! stamp set. Today’s chosen stamp set is Coming Home – together with the coordinating Home Together Dies from the Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalogue.

The dies were what really sold me on this bundle, though having some pretty houses was also a major gap in my collection. There’s so much potential in this set!

My card today is a sneak peek of what the stampers who come to Social Stamping today will be making. Social Stamping is my coffee & cards session that runs almost every Monday during the school term at the local Taste of Dalyellup cafe. This term it’s all about Christmas cards, so the addition of the teeny tiny wreath to the houses from this stamp set was the perfect festive touch!

To make this card, I stamped the house in Basic Gray ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends. Mostly I use Tuxedo Black Memento ink when working with my Blends, but they actually work with almost all the classic ink colours.

The house is coloured in Light & Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. I stamped the tree, car and wreath in Basic Gray ink as well and coloured those with Light & Dark Real Red and Light & Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.

The Coming Home stamp set is sentiment free – which means you can combine it with your favourite sentiments from other sets. I’ve used the ‘A Very Merry Christmas’ stamp from the Gift Wrapped stamp set.

The finishing touches for this card are some Linen Thread and a border die in Real Red from the Ornate Borders Dies. The card mat is Smoky Slate and the card base is Thick Whisper White cardstock.

I made another variation of this card using the same pieces. I always like to offer two options for Social Stamping cards and I encourage crafters to be creative and make their own version too.

I love the houses in this set, but the car and the trees, together with the gorgeous dies are a highlight for me! Stamp sets with diversity are always such fun and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the crew does with it.

Next stop to visit is the beautiful stylings of Ann Schach in the USA. You can see the full line up of international stamping rockstars on the Stamp Review Crew blog (this post may go live slightly later than my post, so check back if it’s missing right away).

Thanks for hopping today. I hope whatever plans you are making for Christmas are starting to come together just as you hoped. Border restrictions have just eased here in Western Australia, and although that doesn’t affect my plans on a personal level, I’m so very excited for everyone that will now get to see their loved ones that they may have been separated from.

Stay safe and as we ride this next wave of changes, please be kind to each other!

Paper Adventures Team Hop | sketch

Paper Adventures - Blog Hop Header

Hi!  Thanks for joining us for a team hop where our Paper Adventures team get together on a Friday night once a month and create projects with a shared theme.  Today it’s a fabulous sketch and we’re lucky to be joined by Gail Ellis from Blue Rose Paper Treasures as our guest designer.

This fun sketch was designed by Narelle. I’m so excited to see what the team does with it.  I’m either incredibly literal with sketches (for this one think holly, circle and rectangle) or I run away on a complete tangent!

Today’s creation is a little liberal with the circle turning into a square and the holly becoming a gnome.

I had an idea when I saw this sketch where the gnome was peeking out from behind a present with a tag saying “no peeking”.

How cute is the ruffles of the bow from the Gift Wrapped stamp set?  I’ve paired it with Heartwarming Hugs DSP.

The tag is from the Little Treat Box Dies – such a cute little size with gorgeous stitched detail.  And you’ll recognise the gnome peeking out from the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set.  I had to hunt a little for the sentiment – I knew I had a ‘no peeking’ somewhere and found it in the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set.

There’s lots more of the team to share their creations if you keep clicking on the ‘next’ links to each blog until you get back to where you started.  The full list of participants is below.

From here, you are visiting our amazingly talented guest designer Gail Ellis.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend filled with all the things that make you happy!
