CASEing the Catty #214 | Sale-A-Bration

If you’ve been tracking school holiday fun here at Papercraft HQ, then it’s my sad news to tell you that school goes back tomorrow!   I really enjoy school holidays – fun activities, lazy mornings and summer fun!  But all good things must come to an end!

The kids are super excited – and I am too about the potential concept of more craft time during the day!!!  And being a touch more organised with two of the three Little Papercrafts out of the house!!!

No photo description available.

I missed the deadline for sign up this week’s CASEing the Catty – but thanks to the lovely Kathryn Mangelsdorf whose blog you may have just visited, I snuck in at the last minute to share this cute little gift set I made for a friend.

I drew inspiration from a number of sources for the inside & outside of the gift set!

The calendar and gift box styling are CASEd from my ESAD Blog Hop projects.  See here for the original designs.

I filled the box with tea pot note cards inspired by a gorgeous project I saw by Dee Copus-Read – see her teapots here

The teapot styling was CASEd from this photo in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue…

I have been admiring the colouring of the striped teapot since the SAB catalogue landed on my desk!  I don’t have the artistic touch required for such amazing watercolouring.  If you’d like to have a go – Alisa Tilsner made a great tutorial – click here to visit.

Instead, I used a tip shared by Artisan Design Team member – Emma Goddard.  Emma simply used an Aqua Painter to draw stripes across the cardstock before she stamped with the tea pot & cut with the die.  Easy but amazing!  I swiped left and then right across each line so I could get some variation in colour profile – and this suited my natural technique of uneven colour application!!

Share What You Love Tea Pot Gift Set | kelly kent

I used this technique in 3 different colours to suit the DSP colours (2 of each) plus on the back of the 3″ envelopes.  It’s a snug fit, but the teapots can be convinced to sit nicely in the envelopes (which is perfect!).

Share What You Love Tea Pot Gift Set | kelly kent

To turn the teapots into note cards, I simply folded my Whisper White cardstock in half before die cutting.  I then used by Stamparatus – set up with a carefully placed template – to stamp the teapot image.

I love the collaboration of this project – all the ideas I’d seen from Stampin’ Up! and other demonstrators sharing online – helped me to create something special.  And now here I am sharing with you.  It reflected the share what we love so well!

Thank you for joining me today!  And again to Kathryn!

There’s a full supply list at the end of this post with links to the online store for easy shopping.  The fabulous teapot framelits are available as a Sale-A-Bration redemption with any $180+ order.  Don’t forget to add the Tea Together stamp set (page 49) to your order to own the coordinating set.

Speaking of coordinating sets – did you see that lots more of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets will have coordinating dies available in March!!!  I’ll post more details during the week.

Next up you are off to visit Shannon Kissane and her cute canine creation!

Please join us on the CASEing the Catty Facebook page to join the challenge by sharing your catalogue inspired project.

See you next week!

For all my WA followers with children starting school tomorrow, I hope it’s a smooth transition for you & your family!

ESAD Blog Hop | 2018-19 Annual Catalogue Launch

Image may contain: text

Hello!  I’m excited to be hopping with my fellow Australian & New Zealander Demonstrator friends.  We’re all part of a Facebook group called ESAD….

The 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue launched on Friday, so it’s the perfect time to share some new catalogue creations with you and get this party started!!!

To download the catalogue pdf, click here.

To browse the online store, click here.

I’ve had a fantastic time this weekend choosing what items from the new catalogue I’ll add to my collection.  This isn’t the start of the new catalogue for me though.  I’ve been enjoying new catalogue #demoperks since April when we attended OnStage.

After OnStage, we had the chance for a little spending spree as part of a product pre-order called Product Purchase Premiere.  I added a number of new products including the super fun Sea of Textures bundle.

Today I’m sharing with you a card & box gift set I made using the stamp set & coordinating dies.

Sea of Textures | kelly kent

If you’re playing new catalogue eye spy, you’ll see the Sea of Textures stamp set, Under the Sea Thinlits, Tranquil Textures DSP & Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.

Sea of Textures | kelly kent

The octopus is inked using the Baby Wipe technique in 3 new colours – Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape & Mango Melody.

Sea of Textures | kelly kent

There’s lots of new colours to love – and I’m loving them!!!  The Stitched circle behind the netting is Mint Macaron (so excited to have this return to the range!), the stars are a new colour called Gray Granite and the sentiment label is Soft Sea Foam.

The new colours are easy to add to your collection with new colour bundles for ink pads, markers and cardstock.

There’s lots of returning favourites in the catalogue too – like the gorgeous Gable Boxes…

Sea of Textures | kelly kent

I used the fun fish die to create a peekaboo feature on the box.  You need to gently prise apart the box where it joins to be able to cut the fish – and stick it back together when you’re done.

I also ran the whole box through the Big Shot with the Ruffled Embossing Folder.  Embossing the box adds such a cool texture!

Thanks for joining us for the ESAD Blog Hop.  There’s 27 blogs on the hop today – that’s a bundle of new catalogue inspiration!!!

CASEing the Catty #150 | Favourite Holiday Catalogue Big Shot

As the weeks draw nearer to Christmas, I’m slowing building up my supply of cards & gifts for this festive season.

It’s another great Christmas theme at CASEing the Catty – Favourite Big Shot project from the Holiday Catalogue.

Image may contain: text

There’s lots of great inspiration from the design team – so if you’re looking for some more Christmas ideas, make sure to hop around!

One of my very favourite Big Shot sets from the 2017 Holiday Catalogue is the Quilt Builder Framelit Dies.  Sewing is a popular hobby amongst my family & friends – so I’m excited for all the possibilities this set holds.

Images © Stampin' Up!

This set of dies is part of the Quilted Christmas Suite.

There’s definitely something sweet about the patterns & colours of these products!

My inspiration for today’s CASEing the Catty project came from this photo on page 4 of the Holiday Catalogue.

I {LOVE} the concept of those cute little thread holder cards, but haven’t used them yet.  This was the perfect opportunity!

I used the patterns & theme of the sample card to create some mini cards (3″ square) with the thread card as the main embellishment.

CTC #150 Quilted Christmas | kelly kent

The thread card was cut in Real Red cardstock and wrapped with Whisper White Baker’s Twine, finishing it off with a bow.

3″ cards are perfectly packaged in the super cute pizza boxes (also available in the Holiday Catalogue).

CTC #150 Quilted Christmas | kelly kent

They come white but are easily coloured using your Stampin’ Spritzer.  Add 5-20 drops of the reinker colour you want (number of drops depends on the intensity you want) and fill to the top with Isocol (alcohol solution available at Coles, Woolworths & pharmacies).

CTC #150 Quilted Christmas | kelly kent

Sets of cards make fantastic gifts.  It’s fabulous to have beautiful packaging options – I hope those pizza boxes stay around past this current catalogue!

CTC #150 Quilted Christmas | kelly kent

You can fit quite a few cards in the box, but with the spool of thread on each notecard, they ended up being a thicker than usual.

CTC #150 Quilted Christmas | kelly kent

They do still, however, fit in the cute little 3″ envelopes.(another Holiday Catalogue must have!).

ESAD Blog Hop – Eastern Palace Suite

Image may contain: text

Hello!  I’m excited to be hopping with a group of talented demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand today.

We all hang out on a Facebook page called ESAD and have a love for all things Stampin’ Up!

Image may contain: text

You are in for a treat today as the group showcases the Eastern Palace Suite.  I get to see the projects as you do, and I’m so excited for the creativity that will unfold as we hop around!

There’s a full list of participants at the end (in case there’s broken links) but hopefully it will all work out and you’ll just be able to keep clicking on ‘next’.

If you love Pinterest and Instagram, I’m sure you’ve already seen lots of Eastern Palace ideas floating around.  This beautiful suite is a pre-release from the Annual Catalogue that starts on 1st June.

Stampin’ Up! have very generously put together 2 products bundles that you can purchase during May.

The Eastern Palace Starter Bundle is $104.75 and includes everything you see in this picture including the Very Vanilla notecards & envelopes for {FREE}.

Order it now!

The Eastern Palace Premier Bundle includes all these amazing items for $178.25.

The {FREE} items for this bundle are the Very Vanilla Thick cardstock & Very Vanilla notecards.

Order it now!

Last Sunday I participated in an Eastern Palace blog hop and featured a soft & pretty theme.

Today, it’s all about the traditional and I wanted to show you what you could make with the products in your Premier Bundle!

Using all of the products above – except the Lemon Lime Twist Ink – I made this cute little 6-pack of Very Vanilla Notecards.

ESAD Blog Hop - Eastern Palace | kelly kent

In this gift set is 6 notecards & 6 envelopes decorated using the Eastern Medallion Thinlits, Gold Vinyl stickers & Eastern Palace cardstock pack.

ESAD Blog Hop - Eastern Palace | kelly kent

It’s all packaged together with a belly band made using the Eastern Palace DSP, Eastern Medallion Framelits and a Fresh Fig Mini Tassel.

ESAD Blog Hop - Eastern Palace | kelly kent

Each notecard features a peekaboo front.

I still wanted the sender to be able to write a message on the inside, so I stuck a card within the card and created a hidden message flap.

ESAD Blog Hop - Eastern Palace | kelly kent

The Eastern Medallions are the standout of this suite for me – so many creative options!!!

Many of the framelits in this set do not cut all the way around the edge, which makes them perfect for card fronts & envelope flaps!!!

ESAD Blog Hop - Eastern Palace | kelly kent

I used two different designs, one each in Fresh Fig, Dapper Denim & Tranquil Tide for my notecards.

I was so inspired by Lynsay’s envelope decoration on the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop – what a great idea to embellish the envelope flap with this suite.

The Eastern Beauty stamp set added the perfect finishing touches to my envelopes.

ESAD Blog Hop - Eastern Palace | kelly kent

I didn’t set out to create a sentiment free gift set, but that’s how it ended up!  And on reflection, it’s actually perfect!

Who doesn’t need a set of cards on standby for ‘any occasion’?

You could actually add a sentiment on these cards as needed.  The curved stamps from the Eastern Beauty stamp set would look great around the curve of the die cut.

Thanks for enjoying this suite with me today.  Next up on the hop is the always gorgeous, very talented and someone I’m proud to call a friend, Lou Kitzelman.

She organises these hops & does a great job of keeping us all in line!  Not an easy task when working with such a big group, all with different levels of technical expertise!

You’re going to love what she’s made!

CASEing the Catty #107 Favourite Holiday Punch Bundle

12371218_10153736740662158_9102306381153319857_o

Hi there!  Thanks for joining me for the CASEing the Catty blog hop.

This week it’s all about our favourite Holiday Catalogue punch bundle.

Normally I struggle with ‘favourites’ – but this was a no brainer for me!

I have used the Cookie Cutter Christmas set more than anything else in the catalogue.

It is my favourite holiday catalogue punch bundle!!!

The image options are so versatile and super fun to use for the lighthearted Christmas approach!

It certainly came in super handy this week as I needed to create a Christmas Card gift set for an event prize.

The catalogue had three perfect inspiration options…

Images © Stampin' Up!

Which I adapted to for a set of standard sized cards.

I added a couple of gift tags made using the Cheerful Tags Thinlits…

CASEing the Catty #107 - Favourite Holiday Punch Bundle. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

And packaged it all up in a full side ‘wide stamp case’.

I love stamp cases – they are great for storing lots of craft items, but they also make fabulous gift packaging!

CASEing the Catty #107 - Favourite Holiday Punch Bundle. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

To transform from storage to packaging, you simply need to add a piece of DSP into the plastic sleeve on the outside of the case.

The measurements for the DSP for the wide case is 11-1/4″ x 7″, scoring 5″ from each short edge.

If you want to use the ‘standard’ (slim) case, the DSP measures 10-1/2″ x 7″ (still scored at 5″ from each short edge).

I’m very excited that the Cookie Cutter Christmas punch & stamp set are carrying over.  If you’d like to see the full list of retiring products, please click here.

Next stop for some punchy inspiration is the fabulously fancy Bronwyn Eastley.
