Thoughtful Branches Banner

Welcome to a {BONUS} Stamp Review Crew hop!

Every one is so excited about the limited edition Thoughtful Branches bundle, that we added in a hop just to share it with you!

Thoughtful Branches will be available throughout August (or until stocks last).  It comes with gorgeous coordinating framelits.  You can buy the stamp, the framelits or the whole bundle!

How amazing has the hop been so far???  I just loved Holly’s projects – she’s so talented!

Next stop is Debra Burgin – make sure to click on the ‘next’ button at the bottom of this post to see the beauty she’s created.

Have you got the cuppa & biscuit (cookie for all of you in the US!) ready for all the inspiration waiting for you as you continue the hop??

I know you’re going to love what you see and find it hard to resist this bundle!!!

If you’ve got it on your wishlist, I’d recommend contacting your demonstrator sooner, rather than later!  It’s a limited edition and may sell out!

There’s so many possibilities for the Thoughtful Branches stamp set, it was actually tricky to decide what type of card to make. And which of the stamps to focus on.

My favourites are actually the sentiments – I love that font!!!

But since I showed them off last week, I’ve gone with the large tree, leaf and bird to make this Freestanding Pop Up Card.

My attention was drawn to this style of card a couple of weeks ago when my friend Lou Kitzleman made a couple of different variations.  I ‘bookmarked’ it for the perfect occasion – which is this!

Thanks to Lou for her inspiration & wonderful tutorial – find it here on her blog.

Here’s the card in more detail.

The card stands up via the fold at the bottom and you pull up the feature through the slit in the middle.   In my card, the feature is the tree, but it can also be a tag or jar or anything in a rectangular-esque shape).

One of the clever elements of the card is that it folds flat for posting (isn’t that the best kind of card???).

Because of the custom size, it was a great chance to make a matching envelope using my Envelope Punch Board (finished size 4″ x 4-1/2″), which I lined with the pretty flowers from the Subtles DSP Stack.

The tree leaves/flowers were stamped multiple times on watercolour paper to give it that mottled ‘natural’ effect.  The first layer was Blushing Bride, then Flirty Flamingo (stamped off to reduce the colour intensity), then Crumb Cake, then Blushing Bride again.  And then I washed over the whole image with my Aqua Painter and Blushing Bride ink.

The leaves were stamped in a similar way to create a depth of colour.  Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive (stamped off), Crumb Cake & Pear Pizzazz.  Then a wash with Pear Pizzazz.

This card style really is perfect for the tree to give it the full 3D effect!  And it really wasn’t too difficult to make – with Lou’s great instructions!

Next up on the hop is Deb – prepare to fall in love with this bundle just a little more with each blog!!!
