Bikes, Banners, FMS185 and a new weekly challenge!

I’ve shared lots of convention cards with you lately, so today I’m excited to share a *NEW* card made with products you can order now!  No need to wait for the new catalogue to start!

Today’s card uses two challenges.  One of my regular go-to’s: the sketch supplied by the lovely design team at Freshly Made Sketches:

And a brand new weekly challenge just for South Pacific Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators (ESAD).

The first ESAD Demo Design challenge has been set by Donna Chapman and is to create a card suitable for a male with the theme of travel.

So, with the sketch as my starting point, I’ve made this gender neutral card featuring the awesome bike from Sheltering Tree.  I love it when a stamp set offers more than just what it promises.

It features one of my all-time favorite colour combinations of black, grey, white & yellow, which works well for males (or females).

This card has a mix of retiring, not be be continued (Occasions 2015) and carryover products.

If you think you’ll miss any of the products on the retirement list or in the Occasions catalogue, then you’ll want to order them now!  Online shopping makes it super easy – shop from wherever you are & get it delivered to your door (the hostess code if you’d like to use it is: 2DDVDWRQ).

Thanks for all your support of my papercraft journey!  I’m certainly feeling the love!  Kelly x

Happy Easter from Kelly & the little bunnies!

Happy Easter Sunday!  We’ve been spending the weekend with family & friends – eating way too much chocolate and delighting in seeing Easter through the eyes of kids.  This morning we followed the Easter bunny’s trail around the garden – collecting, eggs, stickers, crackers & toys.  So much fun!  Easter was definitely ‘this way ->’!

These are my two little “Easter bunnies”… Do you love their ‘mummy made’ shirts (guess who got a fabric blade for their Cameo!!!)?

Happy Easter.  Chocolately love from Kelly & the little bunnies x

ESAD Occasions & SAB 2015 Blog Hop – Getting into Guy Greetings!

Welcome to another ESAD blog hop – a round trip through lots of inspiration for products from the 2015 Occasions catalogue & 2015 Sale-A-Bration range.  You might be starting here, finishing here or just stopping by on your way around.  If you’re on your way, then you’ve just seen Amity’s Project Life creations.  Next stop on the journey is Norelle’s blog.  A full list of participants is at the bottom of this post.

What is ESAD?

ESAD stands for “Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators” and is a Facebook group just for Australian and New Zealand Independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.

We love what we do & love to share with our customers, friends and blog visitors. We also share what we love in our ESAD Demonstrator community, through swaps, challenges, sharing knowledge, ideas& friendship and we’re always there to help and support each other.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand then please feel free to leave me a comment with your email address then I’ll contact you with information on how to join our group.

Welcome to my projects.  After buying what seems like most of the products (shhhh!) from the new Occasions catalogue (who can choose a favourite when the offerings are that good???) and earning quite a few SAB gifts, I had quite a selection of products from which to choose for my blog hop focus.

After some umm-ing & ahhhh-ing, I have ended up deciding to showcase the very interesting stamp set “Guy Greetings” (138825/138828/137178) – mainly as a bit of a push to ink it up and hopefully fall in love with it.

You see, since it arrived, I’ve been struggling to get excited about it!  [And based on the offerings of Pinterest, I might not be the only one].  In theory, it’s a great set – masculine theme, great font and lots of potential… but something about it has been blocking my creative flow.

Well, not anymore for this old-fashioned engine with determination!

Armed with a theme of Night of Navy, Cajun Craze & my favourite neutrals, here’s what I came up with:

“You’re My Anchor”

Guy Greetings paired with Birthday Bash DSP (137783), Starbust Framelits (132967) and Painted Blooms Cotton Twine (137873).

Do you like the boating knot? Learn how to tie your own by following this tutorial.

“Hardwood Classic”

Guy Greetings coupled with Hardwood Background Stamp (133032) and On Film Framelits (132969).

The Hardwood stamp would have to be one of my all-time favourite SU! stamps.  It goes with so many themes.

“Mechanical Bro”

Guy Greetings featuring a punch art coverall made using Square Framelits (130921) & Triangle Punch (133375).

I do love my punch art!  This design would also work for hi-vis (which gives me an idea for the future!) or a crisp white shirt, making it perfect for a range of men.  As well as “brother”, Guy Greetings comes with father, Grandpa, Dad, husband & uncle – fully customisable for the men in your life.

And one final share, to go with my mechanic punch art card.

“Tool Bag Curvy Keepsake Box” (135853).

Did you know that quite a few of the popular products from the 2014 Holiday Catlaogue are back as ‘returning favourites’, which is fabulous because the Curvy Keepsake Box has definitely been a favourite of mine![You can see them on page 49 of the Occasions 2015 catalogue].

So far all of my Curvy Keepsake Box creations have been ‘lovely for the ladies’ or ‘cool for kids’, so I wanted to create one that was ‘great for guys’.  Think Dad’s Tool Bag could be a winner – especially if it was filled with his favourite chocolates.

Thanks for joining me while I made friends with my Guy Greetings Stamp Set.  It’s definitely grown on me and I’m excited to make more ‘manly’ cards throughout the year.

Next stop on the blog hop is Norelle.  Please leave a comment or two as you hop around – we love hearing from you!  Kelly x

Happy Birthday Mr Papercraft!

It’s a B-I-G “Happy Birthday” to my husband, Mr Papercraft, today.  He doesn’t read my blog – not that I can blame him since he sees most of the cards that end up on here in real life (he’s a hit & miss critic, but oddly good at recognising the wonky bits!).

But, he did happen to see it one day when I’d left it open on the computer – and ironically on a post where I referred to him as Mr Papercraft (perhaps the one about the iron-on glitter vinyl mugs when I was in a very grateful mood!).  Well, since then, he’s been referring to himself as ‘Mr Papercraft’ and gets quite a chuckle out of it.

Now, it’s only fitting that the main man along for the ride with me on mypapercraftjourney gets more than one card on his big day (and by main man, I may mean key financier!).  He’s still heavily into his diving, so both cards fit into the nautical/marine theme.

The first card is from me.  It uses the Irresistibly Yours Sale-A-Bration DSP which I coloured with ink & sponge daubers to create an underwater oasis for the little diver man.  The diver is John from the Silhouette Design store, complete with a tank and flippers to make him into Diver John.  The “you’re the best!” sentiment is also a SAB goodie (Simply Wonderful Stamp Set).

The second card is a shaker card I made for the Little Miss Papercrafts to give to their Daddy.  [If you would like instructions on how to make a shaker card – follow this link to a previous post].  I loved the fun of this card – something they could play with as well as Daddy.

Happy Birthday Mr Papercraft – our ocean is so much fuller for having you in it!  With lots of love, Mrs Papercraft & the Little Misses x

Happy {GRAND} Dad Day!

Happy “Dad” Day to everyone out there – Dads, Grandads, Step-Dads, Foster Dads, Dads of Fur Babies, Dads-to-be…

As we’ve already done Daddy day at home, we are celebrating today with my Dad, who is “Grandad” to my girls.

My Dad has had a mustache since before I was born (yes, I’m a child of the 80s!).  He’s been offered large amounts of money to ‘shave it for a cause’ and has staunchly refused.  Which is probably just as well – I couldn’t imagine my Dad without his mo’.  So, I think it’s fitting that the Mustache Framelit features heavily in his Father’s Day papercraft.

Since getting the Mustache Framelit, I’ve had visions of a mustache photo prop (obviously been to too many weddings in the last few years with photo booths!).  So, Dad’s Father’s Day card is a OOAK special edition using photo booth style pics of my two girls and the ‘mo on a stick’.  I this he’s going to love it!  I had heaps of fun getting photos of the girls and have lots of wonderful mo’ photos that didn’t make the cut.

My wine collecting father is also getting a subscription to the Australian Wine Companion, so it was perfect that I spied Bronwyn Eastley’s Mustache bottle tag on Pinterest this week.  I have recreated the tag to attach to a bottle of wine (that goes with the promise of a subscription).  Definitely vying for favourite daughter status this year.  Happy Father’s Day Dad!  The Kents are lucky to have an amazing role model like you to guide & support us [and make us the best pancakes!].  Love the Kents xxx

Masculine Mayhem!

On Thursday night, 5 lovely ladies joined me for a night of cardmaking.  The theme was cards that would be suitable for a male.  I often hear that masculine cards are the hardest to come up with, so hopefully these ideas help you out a little.  Although my designs were made with “Father’s Day” (and happy birthday) sentiments, most of the ladies chose other ones to put on their card fronts including “happy birthday”, “lucky you” & “from me to you”.  The variety in SU! is great!

If you like what you see, are in Bunbury and you’re interested in attending a card class like this one, contact me.  I can invite you to the next one or you can host your own (host your own & earn rewards).  Kelly x

Get Ready – The Holiday catalogue starts soon!

Now that you’ve had a minute to digest the annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue, get ready for the Holiday Catalogue, which starts on 28th August 2014.  I have a small pile of brand new catalogues – if you’d like one, contact me.  One of the perks of being a SU! demo is new catalogues and products make their way to me before the official release date – yippee!!!

The Holiday Catalogue, as the name suggests is filled with stamps, papers and other goodies ready for Christmas, Halloween & Thanksgiving crafts.  Quite a few of the sets are versatile across more than just those occasions.  Today’s sneak peak is fabulously versatile, and wonderfully themed (with a great font!) – Making Spirits Bright.  As well as covering the above ‘drink in hand’ celebrations, it also has stamps for ‘love you’, ‘happy birthday’ and ‘happy new year’.  Inspired by the colour combo challenge over at Pals Paper Arts, I have gone with a birthday theme using a few of my new products.  So, forget the cake, it’s time to celebrate [more Stampin’ Up! products!].  Kelly x
