Bikes, Banners, FMS185 and a new weekly challenge!

I’ve shared lots of convention cards with you lately, so today I’m excited to share a *NEW* card made with products you can order now!  No need to wait for the new catalogue to start!

Today’s card uses two challenges.  One of my regular go-to’s: the sketch supplied by the lovely design team at Freshly Made Sketches:

And a brand new weekly challenge just for South Pacific Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators (ESAD).

The first ESAD Demo Design challenge has been set by Donna Chapman and is to create a card suitable for a male with the theme of travel.

So, with the sketch as my starting point, I’ve made this gender neutral card featuring the awesome bike from Sheltering Tree.  I love it when a stamp set offers more than just what it promises.

It features one of my all-time favorite colour combinations of black, grey, white & yellow, which works well for males (or females).

This card has a mix of retiring, not be be continued (Occasions 2015) and carryover products.

If you think you’ll miss any of the products on the retirement list or in the Occasions catalogue, then you’ll want to order them now!  Online shopping makes it super easy – shop from wherever you are & get it delivered to your door (the hostess code if you’d like to use it is: 2DDVDWRQ).

Thanks for all your support of my papercraft journey!  I’m certainly feeling the love!  Kelly x

Turning 70 is a Memorable Moment!

I think birthdays should be celebrated.  Adding another candle is far better than the alternative (in my opinion!).  And the older you get, the better it gets (again, in my opinion!).

So, being able to celebrate amazing milestones like turning 70 is definitely a “memorable moment”.

This is a custom card I was asked to make for someone’s Irish relative.  As you can imagine, it’s difficult to get card in an Australian news agency with “Eilish” (and “70”) on it!  I love making cards that fit into the ‘not a hallmark’ category.  It makes it truly special for the recipient.

Again, as always at this time of the year, this card has a few retiring favourites.  But also, lots of products that will live to grace the pages of the new catalogue!

Happy 70th Eilish. Kelly x

Another Sweet Baby, with a gorgeous name!

It’s been a while since I shared a baby card, after that new year rush!  But, this is the first of a few over the next couple of months as more sweet little babies join the world.

This card was a request from a friend whose sister just had a gorgeous baby with an equally gorgeous name.  She wanted something personalised & simple in baby pink, cream & white.  I must confess, I don’t often use Whisper White and Very Vanilla together – but in this card it works.

Welcome baby Margot!  Kelly x

I love punches!  I have most of the SU! range and use them in almost every card I make – one way or another.

One of the newest additions to the family is from the Occasions catalogue – the Bow Builder Punch, which has three pieces used to make bows (as well as other things).

bow builder punchThe ESAD blog hop had some great inspiration for using the Bow Builder Punch – have a look at Libby & Nerida‘s blogs for great bow ideas.  And be sure to visit Clare’s blog for some truly amazing punch art using the Bow Builder punch.

Young Love, Babychinos & Marshmallows – JAI 250

I hope you had a lovely Valentine’s Day.

We celebrated Alexa’s 4th birthday with an apple themed party in the morning, a relaxing afternoon (including a nap for this tired Mumma!) and then a tapas and cards date night for me & Mr Papercraft.

As it turns out, Mr P & I weren’t the only ones celebrating Valentine’s Day in our house.  Alexa was surprised with a truly gorgeous bunch of flowers from her bestie, Cooper. Young love!

image

The photo inspiration from Just Add Ink this week gave me the perfect opportunity to make a card for Alexa to give Coops in return.

JAI250

What does polka Dots, pink hearts & ‘coffee’ for kids in love translate to?  Babychinos & marshmallows!

image

The coffee cups are from the Perfect Blend stamp set.  For this card, I used the digital download rather than the actual stamp, which allowed me to resize the cups to create two babychino size versions that fit beautifully on the card front.

If you’re the parent of a youngster, chances are you’ve been for babychinos.  If not – you’re missing out on a tiny cup filled with warm, frothy milk and sprinkled with chocolate, with marshmallows on the side.  They didn’t have babychinos when I was little!  Today’s kids are totally spoilt!!!

By using MDS, I was also able to create a custom sentiment – “we go together like babychinos & marshmallows” – in my favourite fonts.

Thanks to Coops & his mum for making Alexa feel like the most special girl in the playground!  Kelly x

Stampin’ Up! L-O-V-E for my LOVE x

Happy Valentine’s Day!

You might remember the card I made myself for V-Day using Sheltering Tree – well wasn’t I delighted to find out that it won the Just Add Ink challenge that week.  My first challenge win – what a celebration!

This is the card I made for Mr Papercraft – my one true love (yep, it’s official – I may have watched too much Frozen!!!).

I love the simplicity of this card – it’s sweet & wonderful, with my favourite traditional colour combination!  Hope you have a loved-up day today, doing whatever makes you happy with whoever makes you happy!  Kelly x

Happy Birthday to the Apple of our Eye {Sheltering Apple Tree}

It’s a special day in our house today.  As well as being our – no longer celebrated – wedding anniversary, it is also Alexa’s 4th birthday.

I love a good theme, and this year for Alexa it’s apples, which has been a fun but frustrating theme.  Try typing ‘apple’ into Google or ebay … all that comes up is the technology brand & its range!  Not to worry … I got there in the end!

Tomorrow we are celebrating with a red & green themed apple party.  The party invite was a 3littlebirdsprints design:

Alexa 4 bday invite-001

As I love to do, I made Alexa’s birthday card to match the style of the invite and included a ‘Sheltering Apple Tree’.  I knew when I saw Sheltering Tree in the Occsions catalogue that it would make an amazing apple tree.  And it does!  The colours look incredible!!!

image

And of course, a curvy keepsake box!  Alexa has been asking every time we take a CKB to one of her friend’s birthday when she will get hers.  Well my sweetheart – this is yours.  An Apple Curvy Keepsake Box.

Happy Birthday to our sweet not-so-little-anymore 4 year old! Lots of love & sugary kisses, Mummy & Daddy Papercraft x
