Introducing the Eastern Palace Suite

Hello!  I hope your Easter has started well!

It was a little about Easter today and a little about the new Eastern Palace suite – which I introduced to my birthday card class this morning.

The Easter part was the lovely gifts I got from some of the attendees…

Shhh ….. Those eggs are already eaten.

So spoilt!!!

Two of the cards we made during today’s class featured the pre-released Eastern Palace Suite.

This beautiful suite from the upcoming Annual Catalogue is being released before the catalogue even starts!

It’s available to demonstrators during April and customers during May.  I’ll post all the ordering details in early May.

And a few samples in April to get you excited!

This is the first card we made featuring the Eastern Beauty stamp set, Eastern Medallions Thinlits and Eastern Palace Speciality DSP.

You’ll also spy the stunning new Mini Sequin Trim.  I was lucky enough to get some of this as part of my display board stamping box for OnStage.

It’s amazing!  And will be available when the new catalogue is released on 1st June 2017.

The next card we made featured the beautiful medallion thinlit again – this time transformed into a doily to use in a layered frame card design.

On this card is also some items that are carrying over into the upcoming catalogue – Feather Together stamp set, White Accents, Bold Butterfly Framelit – and one of the 2017-2019 In Colors!

I was on the fence about Lemon Lime Twist initially, but as predicted, I’m absolutely falling in love!  I really love it with this black, white & gray combination where the colour just pops!

The third card we made for this class featured retiring products.  There was a little system glitch during the week where stamp sets were unorderable due to being in discontinued mode.  There was however stock in the warehouse!

So, good news!  The glitch has been fixed and the retirement list is full of your favourites again – but probably not for long!

If there’s anything you want, be sure to shop in my online store!

Host code for April is JQENNDM4.

Can you spot the retiring items?

I count 5….

As always, I’m going to miss items from the 2015-2017 Annual Catalogue – but I’m so excited about what’s to come!!!

I can start sharing physical copies of the catalogues with you when they arrive on my doorstep in mid May.  Until then, you’ll have to enjoy the sneak peek samples I share with you!

Cello Shaker Cards – bigger & better!

Hello!  Did you see the cello bag shaker cards I posted for CTC#120?  If you missed them, you can see them here.

I’m so in love with this concept!  It’s seriously the quickest & easiest way to make a shaker card.

And I found, bigger is actually better in this case!

The 2 cards I’m sharing today use a 130x90mm cello bags that take up most of the card front.

The bigger bag means the shaker embellishments have lots of room to move around – which is lots of fun!

The first version was a 3rd birthday card for a little super hero we know using the Everyday Hero stamp set.

Using this way of making a shaker, you can have a mix of things in the bag, and things on the outside.

The next cello shaker is super girly using the Sprinkles embellishments…

The big birthday sentiment looks great on this simple but fun card.

This style is amazingly easy!  Choose a cello bag that will fit on your card front (or fold down to size).

Cut a piece of cardstock to fit snugly inside.

Stamp/embellish to suit you theme, fill with a fun shaker material, seal and adhere to your card front.

And then watch the recipient have fun as they chase the shaker pieces across the whole card!

You Can’t Go Wrong With A Shaker Card!

It’s my firm belief, when in doubt about making a card for someone, that you can’t go wrong with moving pieces.

People love interactive cards and they’ll be so busy shaking, sliding or making it move that they won’t be worried about much else.

So, when making a card for Miss Papercraft’s bestie, who turns 6 tomorrow, it was a simple shaker card on order.

There wasn’t a party theme to follow, so I went with the classic black, red & white combination!

I started the card thinking I’d add a superhero (hence the pow feature bubble) but decided against it at the end.  Simple works!

Shaker cards are a nuisance to photograph – with all the reflection, so please accept this as my best attempt!!!

His birthday present is an outing, so the ‘here’s to another year of full of adventures’ was perfect for the middle.

I love watching the evolution of my children’s writing & literacy skills!!!

It’s such a cute age!

Super Zac – Fighting Tiger!

The card I’m sharing with you today is special – it was sent to a little man who is currently going through chemo for leukemia.

His Nanny is one of my stamping friends and has been one of his biggest supporters.

Having girls about the same age, these stories always have a personal touch – even though I’ve never met Zac.

So, when Lynne told us of the fight little Zac was going through, I knew a personalised card would add a bright touch to a difficult period.

He’s been described as a fighting tiger – and he’s a super hero in my eyes, so I made a super tiger card just for him.

The tiger was inspired by the one Dawn Tidd made for a Stamp Review Crew post.

Personalised cards are my favourite type!  The joy of being able to create something special for someone special – knowing you couldn’t buy it at the shops, even if you tried!!!

Good luck with your fight Zac!  You’re not just Zac, you’re Super Zac – Fighting Tiger!!!
