Stamp Review Crew | Eastern Beauty

I’m so excited for the first Stamp Review Crew hop of November.  You are hopping with an international group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who share projects using the same stamp set on the first and third Monday of each month.

If you’re already travelling, you’ve landed here in Bunbury, Australia from the lovely Stesha Bloodhart from the US.  Next blog is back to the US to visit Holly Stene.  If there’s any kinks in the first couple of hours, pop back later.  We try to get them sorted as quick as possible!

Today’s theme is the Eastern Beauty stamp set.

Sometimes when a stamp set has been around for a while, new inspiration is just what’s needed to give a stamp set a new lease on life!

The Eastern Palace suite was available as a pre-order during April this year, and then launched in the Annual Catalogue in June, so it’s a wonderful time to revisit and see what ideas the Crew can share with us.

When a stamp set comes as part of a product suite, it can be easy to get stuck in the colours & styling of the suite.

So, for my blog hop project, I wanted to take it in a totally different direction.

I’ve channelled a little bit of our faithful leader – Tanya Boser’s styling, and this is what I’ve come up with…

It’s a birthday card for my Mum (who will probably see it here before I wish her a happy birthday in person today!) – Happy Birthday Mum (aka Nanna Papercraft!).

I’ve used the 6 point flower stamp in full strength to stamp the outline, and then used the solid image created by flipping the stamp over and using the ‘back’ of the stamp as a stamp to add colour over the flower.

It was such a fun technique and can be used for any photopolymer stamp that has a symmetrical shape and doesn’t have the middle cut out.  I have no idea if it has an official name, but I’m calling this technique “reverse side stamping”.

The colours used for this card:
*first colour is the flower, second colour is the colour fill (stamped off )

Sweet Sugarplum & Blushing Bride
Crushed Curry & Daffodil Delight
Island Indigo & Bermuda Bay

The fun sentiment is from the Big On Birthdays stamp set.

It was fun to make a card that looked so different to all the other cards I’d made using this suite.

I can’t wait for you to see all the other fun ideas on this hop.

Please visit my amazing friend Holly Stene next up…

Thanks for joining us!

ESAD Blog Hop – Eastern Palace Suite

Image may contain: text

Hello!  I’m excited to be hopping with a group of talented demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand today.

We all hang out on a Facebook page called ESAD and have a love for all things Stampin’ Up!

You are in for a treat today as the group showcases the Eastern Palace Suite.  I get to see the projects as you do, and I’m so excited for the creativity that will unfold as we hop around!

There’s a full list of participants at the end (in case there’s broken links) but hopefully it will all work out and you’ll just be able to keep clicking on ‘next’.

If you love Pinterest and Instagram, I’m sure you’ve already seen lots of Eastern Palace ideas floating around.  This beautiful suite is a pre-release from the Annual Catalogue that starts on 1st June.

Stampin’ Up! have very generously put together 2 products bundles that you can purchase during May.

The Eastern Palace Starter Bundle is $104.75 and includes everything you see in this picture including the Very Vanilla notecards & envelopes for {FREE}.

Order it now!

The Eastern Palace Premier Bundle includes all these amazing items for $178.25.

The {FREE} items for this bundle are the Very Vanilla Thick cardstock & Very Vanilla notecards.

Order it now!

Last Sunday I participated in an Eastern Palace blog hop and featured a soft & pretty theme.

Today, it’s all about the traditional and I wanted to show you what you could make with the products in your Premier Bundle!

Using all of the products above – except the Lemon Lime Twist Ink – I made this cute little 6-pack of Very Vanilla Notecards.

In this gift set is 6 notecards & 6 envelopes decorated using the Eastern Medallion Thinlits, Gold Vinyl stickers & Eastern Palace cardstock pack.

It’s all packaged together with a belly band made using the Eastern Palace DSP, Eastern Medallion Framelits and a Fresh Fig Mini Tassel.

Each notecard features a peekaboo front.

I still wanted the sender to be able to write a message on the inside, so I stuck a card within the card and created a hidden message flap.

The Eastern Medallions are the standout of this suite for me – so many creative options!!!

Many of the framelits in this set do not cut all the way around the edge, which makes them perfect for card fronts & envelope flaps!!!

I used two different designs, one each in Fresh Fig, Dapper Denim & Tranquil Tide for my notecards.

I was so inspired by Lynsay’s envelope decoration on the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop – what a great idea to embellish the envelope flap with this suite.

The Eastern Beauty stamp set added the perfect finishing touches to my envelopes.

I didn’t set out to create a sentiment free gift set, but that’s how it ended up!  And on reflection, it’s actually perfect!

Who doesn’t need a set of cards on standby for ‘any occasion’?

You could actually add a sentiment on these cards as needed.  The curved stamps from the Eastern Beauty stamp set would look great around the curve of the die cut.

Thanks for enjoying this suite with me today.  Next up on the hop is the always gorgeous, very talented and someone I’m proud to call a friend, Lou Kitzelman.

She organises these hops & does a great job of keeping us all in line!  Not an easy task when working with such a big group, all with different levels of technical expertise!

You’re going to love what she’s made!

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop – Eastern Palace Suite

I’m excited today to share that I’ll be joining a group of international demonstrators in a monthly blog hop!

Welcome to the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop hosted by Sara Levin, a demonstrator in the US, who has brought us together to share projects inspired by a suite or theme.

It was perfect timing this month for the Eastern Palace suite with pre-release starting tomorrow.

You can find all the products details for this beautiful suite at the end of this post.

For me, one of the most amazing things about this suite is the Eastern Medallion Thinlits – and they inspired the design of my projects today.

For my first project, I used the floral dies for this Eastern posy, combined with the Everyday Jars Framelits – which are carrying over into the new catalogue.

As I’ve already shared a few samples with you for the Eastern Palace Suite {I was lucky enough to get this in my display box}, I wanted to stray away from the deep & majestic colours of the suite, and try it out in some sweeter colours.  I kept the gold influence though!

The flowers are cut from watercoloured paper in Sweet Sugarplum, Daffodil Delight & Pool Party.  Using watercolor paper adds some great texture!

As do those Gold Faceted Gems in the middle of my flowers.  They technically aren’t part of this suite, but they may as well be – they go so well!

The beautiful gold DSP is one of the specialty pages from the Eastern Palace DSP, and the cute Fresh Fig tassel comes in a pack with Tranquil Tide & Gold (so luxurious!).

My second project to share with you is a coordinating set of gift tags using the Eastern Medallion dies to create a doily.  For me, this is a sensational feature of this Thinlit set!

Many of the dies in this set are designed to only just the middle section out.  This means you can change the layering, create borders if you need them and snip the edges free to make pretty shapes.

For these tags I have layered them with the sweet colours used in my card, added some gold bling and a sentiment.

The sentiments are from the Eastern Beauty stamp set.

Some of them are designed on a natural curve, but being photopolymer stamps, I was able to bend them into a straight shape to create little sentiments for my tags.

Thanks for joining me today for my first Stamping Sunday contribution, and thanks to Sara for inviting me to participate.

OnStage 2017 Display Board Samples

Are you ready for more OnStage sharing?

So far I’ve shared…

It really was a sensational event where I indulged my love of stamping.

The final piece of my OnStage experience was being selected as a Display Board Stamper.  This involves getting a box of not yet released products and making 15 samples to display on a board at the OnStage event.

All these opportunities have left me feeling very humbled & honored!!!

I had a great array of products in my box including the Eastern Beauty stamp set and accessories, new In Colors, Five for All stamp set, Circle Tab punch, Decorative Ribbon Border punch, Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, ribbons, sequins, washi, bags & more.

This is my board:

Theme 1 for my creations was the new In Colours – me oh my!!!

I’ve already shown you the Decorative Ribbon Border punch & 2017-2019 In Colors in my In Color Reveal post.

Here’s a couple more In Colour creations…

My beautiful girls enjoying feeding the birds at the Wildlife Park in Bunbury.

A cello bag shaker card using the 2″ cello bags, deconstructed gold Striped Treat Bag and new Iridescent Sequin Assortment.

And a bookmark using Powder Pink, Calypso Coral ombre ribbon and gold mini sequin trim!!!

Theme 2 for my display board sample was the Eastern Beauty stamp set.  This is on pre-release for demonstrators during April and customers during May.

You don’t have to wait until June to be able to make beautiful projects like these.

Clear Tiny Treat box with Eastern Palace DSP, gold sequin trim, shimmer ribbon, gold vinyl stickers & Eastern Beauty flowers.

More of that amazing black shimmer ribbon!

Stunning trims – sequins & ombre ribbon with the Circle Tab punch in gold.

Using the Eastern Palace suite in a Dapper Denim, Gold & Vanilla colour combination.

Using the New In Colors – Tranquil Tide & Fresh Fig with the Eastern Palace suite.

Theme 3 is takes a completely different turn – and I will share that with you in detail tonight when my Just Add Ink post goes live!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my samples.

I love to share, so if anything you see will work for your catalogue launch, workshop or blog, take the ideas you need!

Introducing the Eastern Palace Suite

Hello!  I hope your Easter has started well!

It was a little about Easter today and a little about the new Eastern Palace suite – which I introduced to my birthday card class this morning.

The Easter part was the lovely gifts I got from some of the attendees…

Shhh ….. Those eggs are already eaten.

So spoilt!!!

Two of the cards we made during today’s class featured the pre-released Eastern Palace Suite.

This beautiful suite from the upcoming Annual Catalogue is being released before the catalogue even starts!

It’s available to demonstrators during April and customers during May.  I’ll post all the ordering details in early May.

And a few samples in April to get you excited!

This is the first card we made featuring the Eastern Beauty stamp set, Eastern Medallions Thinlits and Eastern Palace Speciality DSP.

You’ll also spy the stunning new Mini Sequin Trim.  I was lucky enough to get some of this as part of my display board stamping box for OnStage.

It’s amazing!  And will be available when the new catalogue is released on 1st June 2017.

The next card we made featured the beautiful medallion thinlit again – this time transformed into a doily to use in a layered frame card design.

On this card is also some items that are carrying over into the upcoming catalogue – Feather Together stamp set, White Accents, Bold Butterfly Framelit – and one of the 2017-2019 In Colors!

I was on the fence about Lemon Lime Twist initially, but as predicted, I’m absolutely falling in love!  I really love it with this black, white & gray combination where the colour just pops!

The third card we made for this class featured retiring products.  There was a little system glitch during the week where stamp sets were unorderable due to being in discontinued mode.  There was however stock in the warehouse!

So, good news!  The glitch has been fixed and the retirement list is full of your favourites again – but probably not for long!

If there’s anything you want, be sure to shop in my online store!

Host code for April is JQENNDM4.

Can you spot the retiring items?

I count 5….

As always, I’m going to miss items from the 2015-2017 Annual Catalogue – but I’m so excited about what’s to come!!!

I can start sharing physical copies of the catalogues with you when they arrive on my doorstep in mid May.  Until then, you’ll have to enjoy the sneak peek samples I share with you!
