This week Lou has challenged us to “Add an Easel”.  Of course, this could be an easel style fancy fold – or you could incorporate an easel into your project design like Tina did.  Click here to see all the design team creations and add your project to our gallery.

I wanted a fresh easel for this challenge – one I haven’t tried before.  While searching for cool easel ideals, I came across a Triple Easel Card designed by Nicole Wilson.  Nicole has very kindly put together all the measurements and instructions which you can purchase by clicking here.  Tutorials are a fabulous time saver and worth every penny to the designer!

Triple Easel Card | kelly kent

This style of easel card has three layers of easels (as the name suggests).  The back layer is created using the card base and the front two layers are created using DSP.

Triple Easel Card | kelly kentBecause all our DSP is double sided, it creates a wonderful contrast.  I’ve used the Peaceful Poppies DSP.  The colours and patterns in this DSP are absolutely gorgeous!

The colours for this card are Old Olive and Blackberry Bliss.

The flowers & leaves are cut using the Poppy Moments Dies from the Peaceful Poppies suite.  I wanted a variation in colour, so the back layer of the flower is cut using the Lily Impressions DSP* (*free during Sale-A-Bration).  Again, Stampin’ Up! shows its versatility with coordinating products both within the suite and across the range.

Triple Easel Card | kelly kent

The red poppies in the middle layer are from the Peaceful Poppies Elements – they come coloured and ready to add to your project!

Triple Easel Card | kelly kent

I’ve used the stamps from the Painted Poppies stamp set to provide coordinating patterns on the card base.  These images were stamped in Versamark and clear heat embossed for a subtle tone-on-tone effect.

As with any good fancy fold design, it all folds up to regular card size ready for posting or delivering in an envelope.

This card was delivered today to my newest recruit, Tanya, who took advantage of the great Starter Kit deal available during Sale-A-Bration.  Tanya received $235 of products, a bonus stamp set, a DSP sampler and a mini trimmer all for $165.  Oh, and FREE SHIPPING!!!

While she remains an active demonstrator (which will be until at least 31st July 2020), she is able to purchase all the items on her Stampin’ Up! shopping list at a 20% discount.  If she wants to, she can sell to family, friends or customers and receive an income on their purchases.

This offer is available to any Australian resident between now and 31st March 2020.  It’s great for anyone who loves a great deal on their stamping products.  The most common question I get asked is “what if I don’t make the minimum quarterly spend”? (which at the moment is $468 at retail prices – you’ll get your discount off that!).  The answer is nothing.  You get to keep all the items in your Starter Kit and you simply change from demonstrator to customer.  It’s a no-risk opportunity that I encourage everyone to take up.  You have nothing to lose and a whole team of lovely crafters ready to welcome you.

Want to join Tanya this Sale-A-Bration and join my Paper Adventures team?  Click here to purchase your Starter Kit, or message me to chat if you have more questions.

Welcome to the team Tanya – it’s so lovely to have you!

Happy New Year, Happy New Catalogue 2020!

I love the promise a new year holds.  I’ve always been a fan of numbers, so 2020 seems like a number that will hold many possibilities.  I hope it’s wonderful for you & your family.

I was very lucky over the Christmas break to take some time away with my family in the beautiful south of Australia.  We visited Esperance – the town where my husband grew up.  We spent time with family, camped on the white sand of the beach and soaked up some glorious sun.  We came back recharged, a little sun-kissed and with some great new memories.

Returning home (with more washing than I cared for), it was nice to get back into my craft room and have a play with some of my new products from the 2020 Jan-June Mini Catalogue.  If you live in Australia and don’t yet have a copy of this super pretty catalogue, please let me know and I’ll send one to you.  You can also view it online by clicking here.

Here’s a quick video by Stampin’ Up! that shares some of the lovely products on offer…

I may or may not have the whole thing on my wishlist!!!  Placing an order is easy.  Simply shop in my online store or message me to order direct.

The other really awesome thing to start our year is free products with the Sale-A-Bration promotion.

There’s 3 ways to benefit –

  1. Choose a free product for every $90 you spend until 31st March 2020.  You can also stack your rewards and chose an extra special reward with $180 spend.  Click here to see all the free choices.

2. Earn a free stamp set when your order (or combined orders with family & friends) are over $500.

3. Join my Paper Adventures team.  This is my favourite special of Sale-A-Bration because it’s a fabulous deal and you’ll be welcomed into the Stampin’ Up! family for as long as you want to stay.

During SAB 2020, join my Paper Adventures team by purchasing a fully customisable Starter Kit for $169.  Choose $235 of products (whichever ones you want), enjoy free shipping and also receive a 6″ Mini Paper Cutter, DSP pack and a free stamp set of your choice.  Once joined, you’ll get 20% discount on any Stampin’ Up! you purchase or sell until at least 31st July 2020.  If you don’t meet the minimum sales requirement ($468 retail), then you simply stop being active and switch back to being a customer.

Click here to join (search for our team by clicking on Demonstrator Directory and then entering my details – Kelly Kent, Dalyellup, 6230 WA). If you need any help with joining, please get in touch with me by Facebook or email.

If you’d like to see any of the 2020 Mini Catalogue products in action, I’m available in the greater Bunbury area to run a workshop in your home with family & friends.  I will also be back running Social Stamping from Feb, so make sure to subscribe to my blog for updates or follow my Facebook page.

Designer Series Paper Available during October in the Buy 3, Get 1 Free Sale!

Happy World Card Making Day – 1st October 2016

Happy World Card Making Day!

I hope you get some time in the craft room this weekend.

I have been busy, busy, busy of late, so I am taking a wee little break from craft this weekend and hope to read a book!!!

And maybe do a little online shopping….

Stampin’ Up! have 2 great specials running in October.

The first is for World Card Making Day and only runs til 5th October.

15-25% off a great list of products.  If any of these aren’t in your collection, you’ll want to stock up.

I’m doing an order on Wed afternoon – about 4pm.  Let me know if I can add anything for you – or partake in a little online shopping too!

The second special runs for all of October – buy 3 packets of DSP and get one free.  That’s $57.75 for 4 packs of paper (plus shipping).

Buy for yourself, do some early Christmas shopping or pair up with a friend and either choose 2 packs each or I’m happy to split the 4 packs you choose in half!

The fine print: the promotion only covers the DSP styles listed above.  It excludes Specialty Designer Series Paper and Designer Series Paper Stacks.

The last thing I’m going to share with you isn’t a special or promotion – just a year round good deal…

October is one of the best times to join Stampin’ Up!

As well as it getting all the usual perks –

  • $235 of products for $169 with free shipping
  • free business resources (ie, lots of catalogues) to get you started
  • being part of the great Paper Adventures team with lots of support,

… joining in October gives you until the end of March 2017 to make your first minimums.

This means you have 01{LOTS} of time to get started, find your feet and explore the new products.

So, if you (or anyone you know) thinks that Stampin’ Up! might be the flexible, no pressure & risk-free opportunity you’ve been looking for, then contact me for more information or jump right in and join here.  It’s as simple as selecting me as your team leader (upline), filling in your details and choosing your starter kit (completely customisable!).

You might be wondering what the catch is?  There really isn’t one.  It’s as simple as keeping up your minimum sales each 3 months (~ 6 months for the first cycle if you join in October).  If that doesn’t work out for you, then you simply stop being a demonstrator.  No penalties, no payback, no pressure & certainly no dramas.

Feel like you’re ready to start your Paper Adventures???  Join now!

I have a lovely growing team and you could be the next person who finds their happy place as a SU! demonstrator!!!

Oh, and one more thing…

I have a goal for the next 12 months.  It might not be achievable… it might not happen… but I’m putting it out there.  I am working towards it!

Every year Stampin’ Up! gives each demonstrator the chance to earn an amazing international holiday called the ‘Incentive Trip’.

For 2018, they are going to Alaska.  I would {LOVE} to go.  So, my goal is to get there.

How can you help me?  Sales, recruiting and other promotions throughout the year all add up towards the ‘points’ I need.

So, every order (including online ones so you can help me no matter where you live in Australia), holding a workshop, attending a class, becoming a new team member and achieveing success within my existing team all contribute towards my goal.

I’m going to work hard for this – and I’m taking you along for the ride with me!  In the words of Dora (and Rafael Nadal!) – V-A-M-O-S ! ! !

PS, if I earn the incentive trip I get to take a guest with me…. Should I take Mr Papercraft???

Large Letters – Using Vellum to line them up!

Hello!  One of the products I was most excited about in the new catalogue was the Large Letters framelits & coordinating stamp set.  They are bold and impressive!

They are also a big ticket item, which makes a dent in anyone’s craft budget.

So, what are the best ways to purchase this set?

Here’s 5 quick ideas on how to get the Large Letters bundle to you with a discount…
{note all dollar values are in Australian currencies}

  1. Buy as a bundle – saving yourself 10% (over $25)
  2. Add another item (or 2) to your order, bumping yourself up to $250 and receive $25+ in rewards
  3. Hold a workshop with your family & friends, share your love of Stampin’ Up! and if the sales from your workshop are over $750, you’ll have the opportunity to buy this bundle at half price! (saving you over $115)
  4. Buy the items separately during July & earn bonus $$$. Purchase the framelits during July for $172 and then use your $9 redemption in August to purchase the stamp set for $76.  You won’t save as much, but you will be able to spread the cost out!
  5. Join Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator for $169 and choose the Large Letters bundle as your kit content (saving you 18%) plus all your future purchases during your time as a demo will be at a minimum of 20% off retail!

As well as my savvy savings tips, I wanted to share with you how I (more or less) line up the framelits to use on a card front.

This is the card I made using the Serene Scenery DSP and Large Letters framelits.

Large Letters Framelits - how to line them up using vellum (plus 5 bonus tips on how to save money when buying the bundle!). Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

And this is how I did it…

  1. Using your grid paper, line up the framelits onto a piece of vellum that is about the same size as your project.

Large Letters Framelits - how to line them up using vellum (plus 5 bonus tips on how to save money when buying the bundle!). Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

2. Stick these in place with post-it notes or repositionable tape (you’ll need to be super careful about this – you can see my ‘R’ slipped as I ran it through the Big Shot).

3. Run through your Big Shot to make your template.

4. Lay your vellum over your cardstock & line the letters up again – into the gaps you created as part of your template -and roll through.  Depending on how sensitive your magnetic plate is, you may like to use post-its or tape again to hold the letters in place.

Large Letters Framelits - how to line them up using vellum (plus 5 bonus tips on how to save money when buying the bundle!). Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

5. Stick your cardstock to your card front & add in any of the little pieces needed to complete the letters (ie, the middles of the R & O)

Voila!  Your card is finished!  If you cut a template for a card you think you’ll use again, keep it somewhere safe and then next time you want to make a card, you can start from step 4.

This type of template is also perfect for lining up cut letters.

Large Letters Framelits - how to line them up using vellum (plus 5 bonus tips on how to save money when buying the bundle!). Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Using templates are one of my trade secrets on how to get a better finish on your cards.  And now you’re in on the secret too!

If you live in Australia and I can help you buy a Large Letters bundle using any of the 5 tips above, or you need some vellum to make templates, please get in touch with me or shop in my online store.

If you’ve loved my tips and want to follow more of my work, then I’d love to deliver an email to your inbox every time I post.
