Stamp Review Crew | Dino Days

Hello!  Welcome to a hop with my Stamp Review Crew friends.  We come from all around the world and share a love of Stampin’ Up! stamps.  Today we’re sharing projects made with the Dino Days stamp set.  It comes as part of the Dinoroar suite with coordinating dies (Dino Dies), paper (Dinoroar DSP) and embellishments (Dinoroar Enamel Shapes & 3/8″ Demin Ribbon).  Click here to view in the online store.

I’m always on the lookout for new fun folds and found this one (not new, but new to me!).  Thanks to Lisa Curcio for the tutorial (click here to see her post).

It’s called a Double Point Fold Card with a front layer that opens to reveal secret stamping underneath!  I’ve used Stitched Nested Labels Dies to bridge together the DSP flaps with small magnets to hold it closed when flat.  The flap are made from DSP using a simple score line and origami style folding.

The dinosaur stamps in the set are two step to create super cute dino friends  I’ve stamped the dino in the middle of the card, but the coordinating dies cut the stamps and DSP images!

I love this DSP because it features a mix of patterns than can be used for boys & girls – because girls like dinosaurs too!!!

The set also contains builder stamps to make a palm tree, dinosaur footprints and cute sentiments.  I’ve used the ‘rawrsome’ sentiment on the front of the card…

And then the happy birthday from Seaside Notions on the back of the card.  This card doesn’t have a traditional fold, so while you could write your message on the inside where I’ve stamped the dinosaur, I love the idea of having a back panel with more stamping and lots of room for a birthday message.

Girls Love Dinosaurs Too!

I love the No Bones About It stamp set but haven’t used it nearly as much as I thought I would.  Then it occurred to me – having little girls, I spend a large amount of my time making (and thinking about) girly cards.

So I thought I’d make a totally pink & girly dinosaur card – because girls love dinosaurs too, right?

The card design is a variation of the Z-fold where you fold back the card front and then attach a panel to the flap.

I forgot to take a picture of it all folded out – whoops!  But this is what it looks like totally flat…

I love the pink dinosaur theme – super cute!

The irony of the pink stereotype wasn’t lost on me.  I’m sure there are lots of girls out there that would love a green & blue dinosaur card.  But it’s girly girl pink in our house and we love it.  Kelly x

{PS, wait til I show you what we did at our house last week! It’s all about the pink!!!}
