Just Add Ink #364 – Inspiration

Hello!  Welcome to another Just Add Ink challenge.

I’m so excited to see what everyone does with this photo inspiration – chosen by me!!!

No automatic alt text available.

There’s so much to take from this gorgeous photo.

Have you noticed how ‘on trend’ copper & rose gold are at the moment?

And crafters love flowers!!!

I love the subtle brick texture in the background & the wood table.

Oh my!!!  Lots of potential this week!

To join us, and see what the other design team members have made, visit the Just Add Ink blog.

This is my card, using all the elements I mentioned above…

I was so excited to use another of my new catalogue purchase – the Beautiful Bouquet bundle!

Beautiful flowers plus an amazing number of practical sentiments!!!

My posy is loaded with pretty, oversized yellow flowers – which is a bit bolder than the inspiration picture!

{But it’s my picture and I can stamp what I want to!}

And I added in the copper tones for the ribbon & posy wrapping.

Did you spy the Wood Textures DSP making another appearance???  So many wood colours & options in this awesome DSP stack.

And I remembered to stamp / emboss directly onto the DSP! (I so often forget this!)

Please join us this week over at the Just Add Ink blog.

I’d love to see your interpretation of the photo into a card, scrapbook page or 3D project!

Just Add Ink #358 – Stitching

It’s been a busy week here at Papercraft HQ, but I couldn’t resist this fabulous challenge by Rochelle!

I {LOVE} stitching on cards!!!  You’re going to love the cards the clever design team have created.

Stop by the Just Add Ink blog to see them all – and enter your stitched creation into our weekly challenge.

Just Add Ink #358 Stitching

Did I say already that I love stitching on cards?  I really do!

I often stitch cards in white, but for this challenge, I wanted to step it up a little and see how the metallic thread would go in my sewing machine.

I threaded it for the top layer, and left the bottom layer as a white bobbin thread.  It worked – to a point!  Then it kept snapping the super fine thread.

But that’s ok!  With a bit more care, a little working of the wheel (rather than the pedal), I got a great border for my card.

And a cute butterfly trail!

The hand winding was a little more work, but – look at the finish!!!  And another great way to use our SU! products!

Do you love the sentiment?  It’s from a new stamp set available in June called Colourful Seasons.

I had so much fun with all the copper on this card!

Getting photos in the wind this afternoon wasn’t so much fun!

But I had to laugh when I saw this action shot on the camera…

That butterfly just wanted to fly!

Can’t wait to see what you create for our stitching challenge.

You can use machine sewing like me, Stitched Shapes Framelits like some of the design team – or try out your own stitched creation!

Bronzed & Shining – Congrats to Joanne!

A huge congrats to Joanne this month who joined Stampin’ Up! in June and has already been promoted to Bronze Elite!

She’s a star!

Star of Light Copper Congrats Card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I wanted to celebrate the occasion for her, so I made this copper (bronze) card using the new Star of Light stamp set and Starlight Thinlits.

So pretty!  Copper foil, copper embossing folder, beautiful Star of Light swirl and silver Starlight star for contrast!

I also wanted to add a Stampin’ Up! touch to a little gift, so continuing with the copper (bronze) theme, I added a copper foil trim to this cute Typo letter.

Typo Letter with the Stampin' Up@ touch - Copper Foil trim! Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

It turned out so cute!  And I can’t wait to see it on Joanne’s desk, inspiring her each day to keep shining!

CASEing the Catty #92 Everyday Occasions

12371218_10153736740662158_9102306381153319857_o

Welcome to another CASEing the Catty Sunday blog hop.

Today it’s all about the Everyday Occasions section of the catalogue (pages 66-91).  This section contains many of my catalogue favourites, so I’m excited to see what the crew has come up with.

I’ve used the card & bag designs on page 73 as my inspiration to create a trio of wedding cards.

I love a classic & elegant wedding card.  And nothing says wedding to me more than metallics.

The bag on the left of the inspiration picture was the starting point of my card designs.  The copper through the DSP and the textured background lead to this creation…

Did you spot the *sneak peak* items from the Holiday Catalogue?  Embossed DSP (Fancy Frost) and Copper Foil!!!

Next up was the card on the right, to create this silver stunner…

Once again I’ve used the *sneak peak* Fancy Frost Speciality DSP.  The texture is amazing – you’ll easily fall in love with this DSP when you see it in person!

I’m not sure if all the Olympics I’ve been watching has infiltrated by crafting sub-consious, but I had a desire to make just one more card – in gold!

I carried through all the elements from the previous cards – metallic foil, Sunshine Wishes heart, Wedding Wishes label – and that beautiful Fancy Frost DSP.

Plus, one more *sneak peak* – we’re getting gold baker’s twine. It’s so thin & delicate and just beautiful to tie.  It comes in a pack with Cherry Cobbler & Garden Green which makes it perfect for all your Christmas projects – and more!
