Convention 2015 – Day Zero Wrap

We’re here!

My mum and I are in the amazingly priviledged position of being able to attend the last Stampin’ Up! convention in this format.  Which, is also my first SU! event!

Today was all about getting here, getting sorted and getting set up.  We’re staying across the road fom the convention centre in a lovely hotel called the Meriton.  There’s LOTS of SU! friends staying here too.

After we had a sticky-beak at Surfers (so very commercial!), we headed back oth hotel for a much needed rest.  Midnight flights do not equal a full night’s sleep.

Then it was on to the convention centre to pick up our convention bags.  They are so cute!

All up, a big day!  Time to head out for some dinner then back for a quiet night in and and good nights sleep!

I can’t wait for tomorrow, it’s going to be very exciting in so many ways!!!  Kelly x

Hello Stampin’ Up! Convention!!!

Hello!!!  Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been madly making preparations to fly East for the annual Stampin’ Up! convention. Mr Papercraft and the little misses are staying at home and Nanna Papercraft and I are off to play!!!

This year we are being hosted by the sunny Gold Coast and as Stampin’ Up! are changing their event structure, it is the last one in this format [I’ve heard whispers that this means some events might be hosted in Perth in the future – YAY!].

So, while many of you were sleeping last night, I was trying to catch a few winks on the red eye and I’m excited to now be on the Gold Coast!!!  I’m looking forward to sharing as much convention fun as I can with you both here and on my Facebook page.  Make sure you subscribe to one or both to get updates.

This is the name badge I made so that my fellow demonstrators from the ESAD (Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators) Facebook page can find me and say hi.  The tag theme was ‘using the owl punch’.  So, I’ve used the owl to make a mini version of Peppa Pig punch art.

Peppa Pig Punch Art using the owl punch:

  • Head: owl with the ears and feet cut off
  • Ears: middle circles
  • Snout: 3/4″ circle & middle circles
  • Eyes: middle circles & circles from the cupcake builder
  • Cheek: largest circle
  • Mouth: largest circle double cut
  • Body: owl with the feet cut off
  • Arms & legs: owl cut into strips with feet still attached
  • Shoes: middle circle, snipped into a quarter circle

The convention is going to be a fun game of putting faces to the names of online friends.  What an opportunity to spend 3 days with like-minded people!  Kelly x

PS, I have a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the past couple of months – any guesses???
