Congrats All Round!

When I was selected for the CASEing the Catty design crew I was so excited!

It’s been such a wonderful experience so far – and has opened up a whole new pocket of creativity and inspiration for me.  I had never really used the catalogue for anything other than a reference book for all my favourite products.  Now, I look at all those gorgeous pictures in a totally new light!

What a lovely surprise it was to collect my mail this afternoon and open a gorgeous card from Elizabeth Gross, welcoming me onto the team.

We must have been on the same wavelength, because last week I made some congrats cards.  2 of them went over east for the other 2 new designers who joined at the same time as me – Krissy Buck and Deb Speijers.

I made another one, just for fun – because I am totally in love with those thinlits!!!  And the Blooms & Bliss DSP has to be one of my new catty DSP favourites – the colours are divine!

While I was sending off cards, I also wanted to send one to another CTC crew member – Rachel Palmieri who has been a long time supporter of me & mypapercraftjourney.  I remember her coming up to me at the convention event on the Gold Coast last year and saying “Hi, I’m Rachel, you don’t know me, but I read your blog and love your cards”.  I was so overwhelmed – that someone other than my Mum was reading my blog!!!

In keeping with the theme of my congrats cards, I used assorted letters & letter pieces from the Sunshine Wishes thinlits to create a ‘thanks’ for the front of my card.

It’s always so much fun to create something a little different!

I’m looking forward to catching up with some ‘old’ stamping friends at the event in November, seeing some in real life and making new ones!

Hello CASEing The Catty Design Team!!! CTC #85 Babies & Kids

Exciting news to share tonight – as of this Sunday, I’ll be joining the CASEing the Catty Design Crew!

This means a blog hop every Sunday night – where I will share a design inspired by the stamping ‘bible’ – the catalogue!  And I’ll link you to creations from other fabulous CTC designers from Australia & NZ.

Before I officially start with the crew, I wanted to join in with the monthly challenge {and I think you should too!}.

The theme for CASEing the Catty #85 is Babies & Kids – pages 56-65.

This was a tough choice as I actually own all of the sets in this section!!!  I guess that’s what happens when you have little people in the house and everyone around you either has kids or is making them!

This particular card is a congratulations card for friends who shared their good news on the weekend that they are pregnant.   I couldn’t be happier for them and wanted to send a pretty card to mark the occasion.

I’ve used two catalogue samples for my inspiration…

Although not specifically from the Babies & Kids section, I just adore the ‘congrats’ die from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  I think that’s what drew me to CASE that particular card.

So, in that theme, I changed the stacking rings stamp for a butterfly die.

I can’t wait to see you on Sunday when I share my first card as part of the CTC design team – so excited!!!  Kelly x
