CASEing the Catty #186 | Birthday

Hello!  How was your weekend?  Totally fabulous, I hope!

You’re joining the CASEing the Catty Crew tonight for a blog hop featuring projects we were inspired to make after browsing the birthday section of the 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue.

No automatic alt text available.

This is possibly my favourite section of the catalogue.  I love birthday sentiments, birthday stamp sets and all things birthday!  For most of us, it’s the most common need for a handmade card.

Today, I have chosen to use this card on page 73 using the 25 Again stamp set.  I don’t own this set – but I’m having a second look!!!  It’s super cute and perfect for colouring!  The wishlist never gets any shorter – does it???

I’ve used the rough layout of the card and transformed it into a Best Route card.  It feels a little like I’m doing this backwards – since last week was the Best Route suite!

Best Route suite | kelly kent

I love this suite – the colours, the patterns, the styling!  My card features everything except the embossing folder.  The DSP on the background layer, the Memories & More card as the top layer, the stamp set, the washi tape and the enamel shapes.

The DSP is part of the Buy 3, Get 1 free promotion in July 2018.

Best Route suite | kelly kent

I’ve adapted the sentiment in the stamp set to add ‘birthday’ (which makes total sense when CASEing the Birthday section!).  You’ll find the birthday in the Darling Label stamp set – which is an exclusive stamp set in the Darling Label Punch Box.

Best Route suite | kelly kent

If you like storing your Memories & More card sets in Wood Mount Cases, here’s the inserts for you to download & print.  It includes inserts for Tea Room, Delightfully Detailed, Best Route & Big Plans Memories & More Card Packs.

Please join us on Facebook – click here to join the CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge group.  You can upload your CTC#186 project, see what others are making and get info about each challenge as it goes lives.

And now it’s time for another great project.  Keep hopping and visit the Sandra Collett in NZ!

Still Global in 2018 – German & French Clear Case Inserts

Clear Case Inserts - Available in French & German | kelly kent

Many of the European demonstrators I’ve chatted with online have an amazing ability to converse in English, as well as their native language.  Which is lucky, because I am unable to speak another language!!!

Despite their amazing language skills, it’s always nice to have options in your first language, so with the help of a couple of my demonstrator friends, I have been able to translate my 2018 range of Clear Case Inserts into German & French.

Thank you for your help ladies (you know who you are).  Any editing errors are my own.

All files available on my blog are provided at no cost and are for personal use only.  You are welcome to share a link to this page with your stamping friends & customers.  Please do not upload these files to your own blog, Facebook page/group or any other online source.

ESAD Blog Hop – 2017 Holiday Catalogue

Image may contain: text

Hello!  Welcome to our latest ESAD Blog Hop.  We’re celebrating the start of the Stampin’ Up! 2017 Holiday Catalogue.

I may be a little biased since SU! is my favourite card making supply company, but they have hit another winner with this catalogue!

Be prepared for your wishlist to grow as you visit each of the talented ESAD members participating in this blog hop!  A full list in available at the end of this post – just in case there’s any broken links!

Image may contain: text

If you haven’t yet seen a copy of the Holiday Catalogue, you can download the digital version here.

Hard copies are available from your local Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.  If you don’t yet have a demonstrator to supply you with all your stamping needs, you have plenty of choice along this hop!!!

I have added some lovely new items to my Stampin’ Up! collection of late, but one particular area I have been stocking up in, is the Memories & More card kits.

There are 4 kits available in the Annual Catalogue and a Christmas collection in the Holiday Catalogue.

I’m not a large scrapbooker or memory keeper, but I throughout the year I’ll make one-off pages for the girls as posters for their room.  Eventually there will be enough of these to make an album!!!

But, while the cards are handy for these pages, the main reason I buy them is they are the perfect size for cards!  It’s like gaining a whole new pack of DSP (which we know I love!).

Each Memories and More card kit contains 72 double sided cards (20 of the large size and 52 of the smaller size), sticker sheets and acetate overlays (numbers vary based on the kit).

Today I’m sharing creations I’ve made using the Merry Little Christmas card kit from the Holiday Catalogue.

First up, I’m sharing a scrapbook page I’ve made…

Merry Little Christmas Memories & More Kit | kelly kent

By simply layering the Memories & More cards onto a page from the Merry Little Christmas DSP (yes, we love a coordinating suite!), this page is ready to go with our family memories from Christmas 2017.

The full page lined card leaves plenty of room for journalling and I’ve left the Old Olive cardstock ready to layer a photo on!

Merry Little Christmas Memories & More Kit | kelly kent

Check out the ‘family’ sticker on the top right card.  How cute are those stickers for adding extra detail!?!

The second project I’m sharing with you today is 4 cards that I whipped up really quickly using a sheet each of Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive cardstock (cut in half to make 2 cards per sheet).  There’s also some Basic Black cardstock too in the mix to keep within the colour theme of the card kit.

Here are the first two….

Merry Little Christmas Memories & More Kit | kelly kent

All the large size cards are just slightly bigger than our card fronts here in Australia, so I trimmed them down to 3-7/8″ x 5-5/8″.

The small cards are already 3-7/8″ tall, so those fit just fine and meant I could display the whole gorgeous card on each of these designs.

I added some silver snowflakes from the sticker sheet to the card on the left and the silver ‘merry’ sentiment to the card on the right.

Here’s the other two…

Merry Little Christmas Memories & More Kit | kelly kent

For the card on the left, the sentiment comes from a small card – I just cut it out with my paper snips.

The card on the right has a sticker from the cardstock sticker sheet.  The Kraft coloured cards have a beautiful ‘pearl white’ print on them.

Merry Little Christmas Memories & More Kit | kelly kent

To make the scrapbook page and the four cards, I only used a fraction of the cards in my kit.  There’s 36 unique designs (with two sides, so really 72 options), which gives you plenty of creative leeway if you like that freedom, but lots of direction if you just want to whip up some ready to go cards this festive season!

My last share for today is a project I’ve been meaning to make happen for some time, but this blog hop has given me the kick up the bum to do it!

The card kits come in cute little cardboard boxes, but it means every time you want to play with your cards you’ve got to get them all out (and then put them away).

Like so many of our stamping supplies, the clear cases are a perfect solution for storage.

These kits fit best in the full size wood cases.  These little gems accidentally got missed from print run of the Annual Catalogue, but they are very much still available.

Memories & More Free Printable Case Inserts | kelly kent

{Looks like a washi tape insert is next on my list!}

You can download the free printable inserts for your Merry Little Christmas Memories & More card kit here….

And the other four Memories & More card kits from the Annual Catalogue here

Well, that’s all from me.  It seems I’m a little excited to return to blogging.  So good to see you all!!!

Next up on the hop is the totally gorgeous Josie Dean – you’re going to love what she’s made.

Going Global – Marker & Ink Refill INSERTS in German & French

It was only today that I remarked to a stamping friend – “how did we ever craft without the internet?”.

And with access to so much information on the internet comes globalisation of our stamping circle.  I am pleased to have stamping friends across the world from many different nationalities.

I know that most of my blog visitors each day come from places other than Australia – and this is wonderful!

So, when I got an email from a new stamping friend – Claudia Ausborn – asking if there was a way to modify my marker inserts to her native German, I thought this was a great chance to add another set of inserts to the range.

You can find the current Stampin’ Up! clear case colour collection in English here.

I’m pleased to introduce….

After feedback on previous sets, I’m also trying pdf version of each colour collection, in the hope that this will make it easier to download & print.

They should load by clicking on each picture set below.

I hope you enjoy them!

If you have any issues with downloading them, please get in contact with me.

OnStage 2017 – New Colour Reveal!

One of the main highlights of a Stampin’ Up! event is all the sneak peek opportunities.  We saw so many beautiful things on Saturday – including the 2017-2019 In Color range.  You are going to love it!!!

From this morning, all demos have access to view the new colours & annual catalogue online – can you feel the excitement?!

Although I can’t share the inside pages of the catalogue with you unless you join my team, I can share some of the sneak peeks here on my blog.

And I can share the retirement list from the current Annual Catalogue and the Occasions Catalogue!  Click here to see what doesn’t make it to the next catalogue.

Are you ready for the new colours?  These pretties will launch on the 1st June 2017.

Allow me to introduce to you the 5 new beautiful In Colors…

Of course when new colours come out, we’re desperate to see them in action.

Here’s a comparison between the new colours & similar existing colours within the range.

These samples are from my Display Board at OnStage Perth. The card base is a Whisper White notecard.  The sentiments are from the new Eastern Beauty stamp set (available to as a special preview suite on 1st May) and the colour strips are using the new Decorative Ribbon Border punch.

Stampin' Up! 2017 In Color Comparison - Berry Burst | Kelly Kent mypapercraftjourney.com

I could have actually done a green comparison too for Tranquil Tide – it’s a transient colour in that the way you perceive it changes based on what colours you match it with!  Cool, hey!

The new colours are just beautiful!  Do you have a favourite?

I always have an instant favourite – Berry Burst and a slow burn…. one I didn’t think I’d love until I started using it.  I wonder which of the other 4 that will be… there’s a little niggle telling me it’s going to be Lemon Lime Twist.  Watch out for some bright and fun creations over the next year!

New colours need more storage, so please download, use and share my marker and ink refill inserts.

To download these files in pdf format, click here.

The individual files are hosted on Dropbox and can be downloaded in jpg format or word document by clicking the links below…
