Stamp Review Crew | Christmas Quilt

It’s that time of year when it’s the last of everything for 2017!

This is the last blog hop the Stamp Review Crew will do for 2017.  A big thanks to Tanya Boser for all her hard work coordinating the hops – it’s a pleasure to be involved with a talented group of stampers!

The theme for today is the Christmas Quilt stamp set – and coordinating Quilt Builder Framelits.

I thought this bundle would be around forever – but sadly it made its way to the retirement list.  If you have it on your wishlist, you’ll need to buy it soon.  Once 2nd January comes around, these items will no longer be available (or earlier if stocks sell out!).

I have been making, packaging, wrapping and giving lots of gifts this festive season.  Between coaches, teachers, friends & family, there’s lots of opportunities to share some handmade love in Australia!!!

I can wrap a box like a pro.  One of my jobs while I was at university was selling fragrance in a department store – so I spent hours wrapping gift boxes and boxes of perfume for lucky ladies & men!

Give me a box to wrap any day!  But irregular shapes are not my thing!!!  So if it’s not a box, it’s going in a gift bag.  Easy, fun & pretty – ticks all the boxes!

And it also provides opportunities for coordinating cards.  As usual, Stampin’ Up! are right on trend with packaging options this Christmas.

Here’s two cards that were inspired by a gift bag – using the Christmas Quilt stamp set!

First up is a Christmas theme…

This one was based on a wine bottle bag featuring brightly coloured Christmas trees.

I used the quilted triangle stamp to recreate the cute little Christmas trees and the trunk using the stitching!

The second card is a thank you card for Miss Papercraft’s teacher…

I used the diamond pieces to recreate the geometric pattern on the bag!

You could use the dies to cut these out, but I just quickly snipped them with my paper scissors.

The colours are Dapper Denim, Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist & Pool Party.

I had so much fun playing with the shapes and making my creations nothing to do with quilting!!!  There’s so many ways to use our stamping supplies.

I know you’re going to see lots of great quilted creations if you keep hopping.

Visit Dawn Tidd in the US next for her great ideas.

Thank you for your support in 2017!

See you next year – our first Stamp Review Crew hop goes live on 1st January 2018!

CASEing the Catty #150 | Favourite Holiday Catalogue Big Shot

As the weeks draw nearer to Christmas, I’m slowing building up my supply of cards & gifts for this festive season.

It’s another great Christmas theme at CASEing the Catty – Favourite Big Shot project from the Holiday Catalogue.

There’s lots of great inspiration from the design team – so if you’re looking for some more Christmas ideas, make sure to hop around!

One of my very favourite Big Shot sets from the 2017 Holiday Catalogue is the Quilt Builder Framelit Dies.  Sewing is a popular hobby amongst my family & friends – so I’m excited for all the possibilities this set holds.

This set of dies is part of the Quilted Christmas Suite.

There’s definitely something sweet about the patterns & colours of these products!

My inspiration for today’s CASEing the Catty project came from this photo on page 4 of the Holiday Catalogue.

I {LOVE} the concept of those cute little thread holder cards, but haven’t used them yet.  This was the perfect opportunity!

I used the patterns & theme of the sample card to create some mini cards (3″ square) with the thread card as the main embellishment.

The thread card was cut in Real Red cardstock and wrapped with Whisper White Baker’s Twine, finishing it off with a bow.

3″ cards are perfectly packaged in the super cute pizza boxes (also available in the Holiday Catalogue).

They come white but are easily coloured using your Stampin’ Spritzer.  Add 5-20 drops of the reinker colour you want (number of drops depends on the intensity you want) and fill to the top with Isocol (alcohol solution available at Coles, Woolworths & pharmacies).

Sets of cards make fantastic gifts.  It’s fabulous to have beautiful packaging options – I hope those pizza boxes stay around past this current catalogue!

You can fit quite a few cards in the box, but with the spool of thread on each notecard, they ended up being a thicker than usual.

They do still, however, fit in the cute little 3″ envelopes.(another Holiday Catalogue must have!).

Product List

Quilted Christmas

Today, I wanted to share with your one of the bundles from the Holiday Catalogue that has been super popular as crafters start to make their Christmas cards for the season.

If you’re watching the date, we’re just three months out from the big day for 2017!!!

Introducing the Quilted Christmas Suite…

The first card I’m sharing with you today is traditional Christmas….

Quilted Christmas | kelly kent

I’ve used the stamp set, framelits & embossing folder to create a classic Christmas card in Cherry Cobbler & Garden Green.

The Stitched Shapes Framelits coordinate marvelously with this suite (and everything else!), as do the Foil Snowflakes.

I know lots of avid sewers that would love a sewing themed Christmas card.

The die set has lots of great sewing shapes including a needle & bobbin card.

In red & green, the Christmas connection is an easy card, but if you change up the colours and sentiment, this wonderful bundle easily creates a birthday card….

Quilted Birthday | kelly kent

This card features the Petal Garden DSP, together with three layers of the stitched quilting die and a cute flower to finish (also in the Quilt Builder Framelits).

There’s so much more to this stamp & die set than just Christmas.

It gives lots of wonderful options all year round by simply coordinating with your other Stampin’ Up! supplies.

I get so excited when there’s so much potential in the stamps we buy!
