Social Stamping Blog Host | change

Hello!  This is the last of our Social Stamping Blog Hosts where the theme references COVID-19 and the global pandemic.  I started these blog hops in March 2020 as a way to stay connected as the world around us changed.  It seems fitting that the final theme of this series is ‘change’.

You can see the previous themes & projects by clicking on any of the links below.

Week 1: Hello
Week 2: Thank You
Week 3: Rainbows
Week 4: Friend
Week 5: War & Peace
Week 6: Birthdays in Isolation
Week 7: Family
Week 8: Sunshine
Week 9: Animals
Week 10: Hearts
Week 11: New (Normal)
Week 12: Travel
Week 13: Thinking of You
Week 14: Out of the Box

I want to express the biggest thanks to my amazing stamping friends who joined in across the weeks and shared their talents with us.  These hops have a wealth of different techniques, folds, products and styles that we can refer back to for inspiration in the times ahead.

We couldn’t say goodbye completely to Social Stamping Blog Hosts, so we are changing direction and continuing to hop on the last Saturday of each month.  The new themes for our monthly hop will be linked to socially used greetings & sentiments.

None of us can know what the future holds.  Take the time to do things that make you happy (like crafting), show gratitude to the people who matter and seek out the positive whenever possible.

Social Stamping | change

As I write this, we embark on the beginning of school holidays here in Western Australia.  It’s been a rollercoaster of a term – moving through the phases of social distancing, adapting to a new way of interacting everywhere we go and becoming comfortable within a transitioning world where COVID is both a threat and no threat at all.  There has been a lot of change over the past 15 weeks – which is how long we’ve been participating in these Social Stamping Blog Hosts, and seemed like a good theme to finish the COVID series of Social Stamping Blog Hosts.  You can see all the themes, the full participant list and the final goodbye to the COVID series by clicking here.

Like all humans, I like a little certainty in life, but I am actually not adverse to change.  In many areas of my life I like and welcome change that serves a purpose.  Change can be a really positive thing.  Without change, we cannot move forward, we cannot progress.

Change brings us new catalogues and new products – which we all find exciting!  Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators got access this week to the upcoming August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue.  That’s the kind of change we can get on board with!  I’ve placed a sneaky order and will share some of my new catalogue favourites soon.  Until then, I’m having fun sharing some Annual Catalogue newbies, like the Moving Along stamp set.

When thinking about a project that highlighted change, I couldn’t go past a Magic Slider card.

When you pull the tab on the right, the panel moves and reveals more images and the helicopter magically changes colour!

This style of card is great for kids cards and this stamp set is perfect for little engine lovers!

A Stamparatus is a must to be able to make this card.  You’ll also need Window Sheets and StazOn ink.  I found this video super helpful to breakdown the instructions.  I’ve made this type of card before, but there’s a few steps, so it helps to have a refresher on the technique.

Here’s a video showing the card in action…

Thank you for hopping with us today.  Click on the next button to keep ‘moving along’ and enjoy the change of scenery at Nicole Wilson’s blog!

Although this is the last in the COVID series for Social Stamping, we’ll be continuing on the last Saturday of each month with more Social Stamping blog hops, each featuring a popular sentiment or greeting theme.

Have a great weekend, and if you have small people at home – a wonderful school holidays!
