CASEing the Catty #106 Favourite Hostess Set

It’s a full Sunday today, with another hop for you to enjoy!

Today at CASEing the Catty, it’s all about the hostess sets from the Annual Catalogue – pages 198 – 201 or Holiday Catalogue – page 3.

I’ve already CASEd the Holiday Catalogue for my CTC swaps – you can see my shrink reindeers here.

So, today I’m CASEing the Annual Catalogue, specially the layout from this beautiful card.

I thought this would make a perfect starting point for a card for the baby shower I attended today.

There’s was a ‘no pink’ brief – which I {TOTALLY} ignored!!!

I’m a pink lover and having had 2 girls – I know how hard it is to avoid pink for little girls – it’s everywhere!!!

The biggest Little Miss Papercraft’s favourite colour has always been yellow.  It’s so difficult to get yellow anything for girls!

In fairness, the pink was inspired by this beautiful bandana bib I bought as part of their baby shower gift – which matches our Sweet Sugarplum cardstock perfectly!

So, it’s actually not pink…

And when you add ink all that black, grey, silver & gold, it’s not really all that pink at all!!!

Really!!!  Hopefully they’ll love it and I won’t be the only rule-ignoring guest!

Next place to visit for this blog hop is the wonderful Judy.

CASEing the Catty #90

Hi there!  It’s Sunday night – how did the weekend of sleep ins, coffee & craft go for you?

I was lucky enough to get a few minutes here & there.  The weather here has been cold & wet – perfect for putting on a movie (or the Olympics) and snuggling up with some good crafting activities!

The theme for today’s CASEing the Catty blog hop is Project Life & Kits.

I have a couple of the kits and a couple of Project Life collections, but having another look at the catalogue – I’ve decided I need more PL cards.  They are gorgeous!

Although I don’t often create PL layouts (just for special milestones), the cards are wonderful for adding to other projects.  I’ve made cards, tags and 3D items just using cards from Project Life collections.  They make for a quick & easy layout and you significantly increase your cohort of designer paper.

Today though, I am still on my mission to create market stock, so I’ve taken inspiration from one of the catalogue photos of PL cards and used the design elements to inspire 2017 Calendar Cards.

You can find the tutorial for making a calendar card here.

The first design uses the Botanical Builders & Everyday Jars Framelits to recreate the beautiful flower in the top left corner of the card.

I’ve used Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake for the leaves and Calypso Coral, So Saffron & Soft Suede for the flower.  The border is hand-drawn using the fine tip of the Soft Suede marker.

The second design uses the Playful Backgrounds stamp set to recreate the beautiful spots seen in the Project Life card.  I’ve added a splash of pearls to finish the calendar with a special touch!

The solid circles were stamped in Soft Sky and the open circles in Pool Party.  To add some depth to this design, I matted the font panel in Pool Party cardstock.

CASEing the Catty – CTC81

It’s the weekend!!! I am so looking forward to some time with my family and some quiet moments at the craft table.

Today I’m sharing a card I made for the current CASEing the Catty challenge – CTC81.

I love the CASEign the Catty blog because it’s full of fabulous creations that are inspired straight from the catalogue.

They are looking for new design team members and I’m throwing myself into the mix!  Would you like to see catalogue inspired creations every week from me?  I think it’d be be fun!

You catalogue is a wonderful source of inspiration.  Not only is it filled with your favourite products but it’s got hundreds of design ideas.  Copy them exactly or use them as a starting point to help with colours, layout & style to make your own fabulous creation.

This is the card that inspired me from the Birthday section of the catalogue – page 25 if you’re playing along at home!Stampin' Up! Build a Birthday

And this is my version of the card.  I love Sweet Sugarplum so much!  It makes a striking combination with Bermuda Bay & Basic Black.

I don’t usually decorate the inside of my cards (many do), but for this card I thought it was just perfect!

Make sure you check out the CASEing the Catty Pinterest page – so many amazing ideas.  And while you are there, add the Design Team to the list of people you follow.  That way you’ll get great pins in your feed & truly get the most out of your catalogue and stamp sets.

If you don’t have a hard copy catalogue yet and live in Australia, please send me an email and I’ll make sure to get one to you.  Kelly x
