Hello! Thanks for joining me for Just Add Ink this week. It’s a fabulous theme – back to the roots of what we do and love…. stamps, paper & ink!
That’s right – just those things. No punches, no dies, no fancy embellishments – just the basics for papercraft!
The design for my card, using the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set takes inspiration from the stamp set sleeve! I lined up the gnomes on top of the printed cover in the same pattern and then attached them to my block so that when I stamped them on the card front, they were in exactly the same position as they appear on the stamp set case. Did you know that unless stated, all Stampin’ Up! artwork images are shown at 100% in the catalogue and on the stamp set cover. It makes it so much easier to visualise how they will look and stamp on your card.
In keeping with only using ink, stamps and paper for my card, I’ve coloured the images with a Blender Pen and ink directly from the stamp pad. The colour scheme for the gnomes was inspired by a gorgeous card i saw by Laura Mackie. You can see her gnomes by clicking here. The colours are Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and a touch of Granny Apple Green and Crushed Curry.
The final addition to the card was a solid black line drawn with a fine tip sharpie pen and ruler and a Christmas sentiment underneath. Remember how much I love fonts – I love this font!!!
Have a great weekend!
