As much as I love a card with lots of layers & texture, it’s also great to have some designs that are quick and easy to create when you either need a card in a hurry – or you need to make a few.
My formula for quick cards –
- A strip of colour – DSP, cardstock or washi tape
- A feature – the main shape or decoration of the card
- The sentiment – stamped directly on the card to minimise time & fuss
- The extra – add a quick ribbon, twine, bling or glitter finish
Here’s 3 cards we made at my Holiday Catalogue class on the weekend using this formula.
1 – Candy Cane Lane Washi
2 – Reindeer from Santa’s Sleigh
3 – Sentiment from Santa’s Sleigh
4 – Add a glittery red nose, a red bow & wink of Stella to make the reindeer into Rudolph
1 – Strip of Warmth & Cheer DSP
2 – Tag feature from Merry Tags Framelits
3 – Sentiment from Stitched with Cheer
4 – Green twine from Baker’s Twine Trio pack
Happy Christmas Bells
1 – Fancy Frost DSP
2 – Stamped & punched bell feature
3 – Sentiment from Seasonal Bells
4 – Finish with silver Glitter Ribbon
Try out this 1-2-3-4 formula next time you need quick & easy cards.
Let me know if it works for you!
