Stamp Review Crew | Butterfly Gala

Hello!  Happy Monday and welcome to the Stamp Review Crew blog hop.  I’m joining a group of fabulous Stampin’ Up! demonstrators as we share projects we’ve made with today’s featured stamp set – Butterfly Gala!

The projects you see on today’s blog hop will definitely feature the stamps from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.  Some may use the coordinating punch – Butterfly Duet – isn’t it cute!?!  So cute in fact, that it has sold out worldwide and Stampin’ Up! are waiting for more stock to arrive (expected end March 2019).  So, make sure to save the projects that inspire you and be ready for when the punch is ordable again!  Your local Stampin’ Up! demonstrator can keep you in the loop.  Until then, it’s totally possible to snip around those butterflies with scissors or you can stamp directly onto your project.

I’m a little late to share my Valentine’s Day card this year for Mr Papercraft because it was so perfect for this blog hop.  Luckily it’s not specific to Valentine’s Day.  This style of card would be great for a wedding, anniversary, appreciation  or general “I love you” card.

I decided I wanted my card to be symbolic of the life Mr Papercraft and I have built together. The two hearts are us and the three butterflies are the little Papercrafts (two Lovely Lipstick girls & one Tuxedo Black boy).

The origami hearts were so easy to make and look amazing in our pretty DSP.  The smaller heart uses All My Love DSP and started as a 3″ square.  The larger heart uses Botanical Butterfly DSP and started as a 4″ square.  You can find the instructions on making an origami heart here

The sentiment in Butterfly gala was just perfect for a card for Mr Papercraft.  He’s my best friend and definitely makes me a better person.  If I had to choose anyone in the world to spend time with – it’s him!

Thanks for hopping with us today.  For more amazing projects, keep clicking the ‘next’ at the end of each post.  I’m taking you to Holly Krautkremer in the US.  I always love what Holly makes and can’t wait to see her butterfly inspired project!

Just Add Ink #441 | Inspiration

How good was the Just Add Ink blog hop last week?

We’re back to regular programming from this week with the usual range of fabulous challenge themes. You can see all the design team cards this week over on the Just Add Ink blog.  Click here to visit, and also share your creation with us.

The theme for this week is photo inspiration using this yummy picture chosen by Jo.

I used the gorgeous colours of the frosting to create a fold out butterfly themed card.  What colours do you see??  I pulled out HIghland Heather, Balmy Blue and Blushing Bride.

The card folds out to the left – and the right!  This is the middle panel….

To create this card, I cut an A4 piece of cardstock in half lengthways (your typical card base).  I then cut 10-3/8″, keeping the piece from the edge for the right side flap.

The right side flap was scored at 2-5/8″ and the tab adhered to the back of the right side of the card.

Like everyone else, I’m loving all the butterflies in the catalogue at the moment. So many butterflies!  I coloured each type of butterflies in a different way.

The little butterflies are stamped in Memento ink, coloured using sponge daubers, highlights added with Stampin’ Blends and punched using the Butterfly Duet punch.  The halo dots were inspired by the Beauty Abounds stamp set (it’s on my very next order – you know when you don’t know you need something until everyone else has it and you don’t!!).  I made them by pressing the sponge dauber to create a circle.

The big butterfly was die cut using the Butterfly Beauty die (trimmed to just the single large butterfly), coloured using sponge daubers and then spritzed with Shimmer Paint (mixed with Isocol alcohol).

The medium butterfly on the inside was stamped in Memento ink, coloured using Stampin’ Blends and punched using the Butterfly Duet punch.

We’d love for you to join the challenge and share your card inspired by those scrumptious cupcakes!!

Awesome DSP for an Awesome Recipient

Favourite DSP | kelly kent

I made this card to go with a team incentive gift.  I purposely chose the beautiful butterfly paper from Needlepoint Nook as it’s one of my favourite pages from the 2019 Occasions catalogue.  I’ve been waiting for a special card to cut into it – and this was it!

Incredibly Proud | kelly kent

If you enjoy my projects enough to follow my blog (which I hope you do!!), you’ll have noticed how much I love the Stitched Rectangle Framelits.  They feature on just about every card I make at the moment.  Stitched edges are a great finishing touch for every card!!

Incredibly Proud | kelly kent

The sentiment for this card comes from the Incredible Like You stamp set (Occasions 2019 Catalogue).  It’s full of lovely positive sentiments with beautiful font – which makes it fabulous in my eyes!

Did I mention how easy Stampin’ Up! DSP is to coordinate colours with???  Just pick out the key colours and you’ve got a perfectly coordinated card.

This card features Night of Navy, Blueberry Bushell, Whisper White and Very Vanilla (with Silver Baker’s twine for a bit of bling!).

Stamping Your Way to the Top Butterfly | kelly kent

I also decorated the inside of this card with a coordinating butterfly from the Butterfly Gala stamp set (and punch) and a super cute banner from Stamping You Way to the Top.  This stamp set is an exclusive demonstrator only stamp set currently available for demonstrators to order.  It’s filled with stamping related sayings.

I can’t wait to make more cards for my team using these two stamp sets – Incredible Like You & Stamping Your Way to the Top.  Being able to support and celebrate my team is a big part of the Stampin’ Up! journey for me!
