Not all fancy folds need to be complex with lots of instructions. The fold I’m sharing today is a great option for changing up a classic A5 card using a couple of dies from your collection.
I cut the cardstock at 5-7/8” (the usual width of an A5 card) x 5-7/8” (usually this would be the length of A4 cardstock – approx 11-11/16”). I then used one of the dies from the Basic Borders Dies to cut one edge and scored at 4-1/8”. The folded flap forms part of the front of the card.
The rest of the front panel is made using the largest stitched scallop die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I’ve attached to the middle of the border so that it lines up with the bottom of the card. If you don’t have either of these dies, you can use similar die in your collection – or leave the top flap & front panel as rectangles.
The middle of the card is 5-5/8” x 3-7/8” with 1” pieces of DSP on each edge. You can see these when the card is closed, so it provides a pretty finish both open & closed.
The card is embellished with products from the You’re A Peach suite – Sweet As a Peach stamp set, Peach Dies and You’re A Peach DSP. I’ve used some of the coordinating colours in this suite – Pale Papaya, Petal Pink and Pear Pizzazz plus Blushing Bride & Basic White. They really do make for such sweet card. The ribbon is Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon – it’s so lush in a big bow at the top of the card.
You could also make this card with a side fold. I’ll share a sample soon using that variation.
Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators were able to order new catalogue Stampin’ Up! supplies a couple of weeks ago and I was excited to have my box land on my doorstep early this week. Housework neglected, bedtime ignored – it was so much fun to unpack and play with the gorgeous products.
Most of my box contained an assortment of products in the brand new 2021-2023 In Colors. Introducing…
They are a such a pretty mix! Do you have an early favourite? I love how well they coordinate together – ready for a range of styles of stamping.
Another cute little new addition in my box was the Party Puffins stamp set. The black stamping of the puffins was the perfect contrast to show off the new In Color range.
Dancing their way into our hearts, these puffins are definitely stealing the show from the pre-order list.
As well as the In Color cardstock used for the card bases, there’s also Stampin’ Blends in each colour, a stack of DSP in 4 different patterns and sweet little gems.
The top layer of the card base has been cut using a new die from a set you’re going to want to have called Basic Borders. It’s going to add a great textural finish to your projects in 2021.
If you love the idea of having early access to all your favourite Stampin’ Up! products, you’ll be excited to hear that all the items you see on these projects are available on preorder and can be added to a Stampin’ Up! Starter Kit. $169 for your choice of $235 of products including free shipping and then a 20% discount on all the orders you place until October 2021.
