CASEing the Catty #183 | Animal Expedition

Hello Sunday!  I hope your weekend was amazing!  We had a fantastic mix of sport, family time, crafting and a day out!  Now it’s time to get ready for the week ahead!

This week’s CASEing the Catty challenge is the Animal Expedition pages & beyond (pages 26-37).

No automatic alt text available.

As always, use the photos in the catalogue to inspire a project you make.  It might be the layout, theme, colours or design that catches your eye.

Share it on our Facebook page to be in the running to win our weekly challenge.  Click here to visit the CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge Facebook page.

My inspiration for today’s project came from the card on the right in the photo below (page 28 of the catalogue).  I could have easily just recreated the card in its entirety – that’s how much I loved it!

But instead, I did a complete switch up.  I swapped the colour scheme so that pink (Lovely Lipstick & Melon Mambo) was the base with a Mint Macaron accent, and swapped the position of the sentiment & the bike.

The Happy Birthday and pretty girl on the bike can be found in a new stamp set called One For All.

I always love a big & fun birthday greeting – so this stamp set was a definitely on my wishlist.

Stamp Review Crew | SAB Bonus Hop

There’s nothing quite as fun as a bonus anything!!!

This is a fun bonus because we’re blogging about…. {BONUS PRODUCTS!}

That’s right, a whole blog hop by the gorgeous Stamp Review Crew sharing what they love about the Sale-A-Bration choices for 2018!

And there’s lots of lovely choice (click to enlarge)….

*** Sale-A-Bration rewards in Australian dollars (check with your local demonstrator for spend requirements in your region).

Today I’m sharing with you the oh-so-lovely Memories & More cards that you can choose for absolutely nothing with a $90 order.

These pretty floral designs coordinate with the Sweet Soiree range in the Occasions catalogue.  You get 72 double sided cards (52 small and 20 large).

,As always, you can use these cards to make scrapbook pages, pocket style memory keeping and use them as embellishments/DSP on a card.

But I started thinking, what else could these tiny pretties do?

They could easily be used for love notes in lunchboxes, writing a fancy shopping list or slipped into a clear phone cover for an interchangeable pattern!

You could also make a pretty bookmark….

How apt is ‘love this story’ that I chopped from two of the cards and stuck to one of my favourite designs (chopped to 2″ wide and punched using the Scalloped Tag Topper).

Next up I used the little cards – chopped in half – to made a banner for Miss Papercraft.

She starts Kindy next week and isn’t all that keen on learning the letters in her name.  So I designed this as a game that she could put the letters in order and then thread them on the ribbon string.

I work in Child Development, so snuck in the fine motor threading skill as well as the letter recognition!!!  She’ll never know we’re working – because it’s so pretty!!!

The last project I’m sharing was inspired by the gorgeous Jackie Aitken.  She sent me a card last year with my address on a Memories & More card – stuck to the front of the envelope.  Jackie has a series of blog posts showcasing how she made 44 cards with the Sweet Soiree Memories & More card pack.  Click here to visit the first post in the series.

The extra detail on the envelope made me smile and I’ve haven’t forgotten it!  I know she won’t mind me sharing it with you.

You can see how easy it is to use these pretty cards and how many ways you can use them in your crafty projects.

Bunting Birthday

I love celebrating birthdays!

I get to buy presents, make cards, eat cake…. what’s not to love?

Today, Mandy, one of our Paper Adventures team members, celebrates her birthday – I bet I know what is on her birthday list!!!  It starts with Stampin’ and ends with Up!

I’m feeling a little theme coming on with these cute necklaces that translate into wonderful birthday cards…

Do you love the criss cross bunting pattern inspired by the necklace design?

Using the recently available SAB set – Any Occasion – I stamped the string in Versamark and heat embossing it in white.

I then added lots of dots in Whisper White and Marina mist that I punched with the Owl Builder Punch.

I love this punch!  I don’t often make owls, but I use it for everything else!!!

The sentiment is from the Oh So Succulent stamp set – I love that font!!!

I took a full sun picture too so you could see it in full light!

It never ceases to amaze me how different cards and colours can look under different photographic situations!

I continue on my quest to improve my photography in 2017!  And I welcome all tips!!!

Whimsy Wedding – Cake Topper Bunting

It’s the middle of the wedding season and I was asked by my cousin, who is a cake designer in Bunbury, to create some wedding themed bunting for a wedding expo she was going to.

I made three different options for her to show her customers and reminded her that since everything I make is made from scratch, it is fully customiable!

That’s the wonderful thing about handmade – it’s created just for you.  Have a name with unusual spelling – no problems, want a specific saying – easy done, need it match your colour theme – totally possible!

Simple & elegant “Mr & Mrs” banner using the Pennant Builder Punch, Skinny Mini Alphabet & heart punch from Itty Bitty Accents.

Classic love birds with a kissing heart!  Made using the Bird Builder Punch, Your Perfect Day Stamp Set & heart from the Owl Builder Punch.

And the final one is my favourite – “Just Married” using the Tree punch, Little Letters Thinlits, and Linen Thread.  The ‘scrunchy’ flowers were made using the brown paper SU! use for packing orders, coloured with Bermuda Bay ink and cut with the 1-1/4″ scallop circle punch.

Weddings are special occasions and it’s a nice touch to be able to make something special just for the big event!  Kelly x
