Merry Christmas 2018 plus 2019 DSP

Merry Christmas!  It’s been a while between posts – but the stamps, inks and paper have still been working hard here at Papercraft HQ this festive season.  I’ve just not had that extra bit of spare time to share those creations with you!  To say it was busy was an understatement.  I sent significantly less Christmas cards than usual!!!  I’m playing catch up this week – happy mail is always a lovely surprise, even if it’s late.

Knowing that the Christmas crazy would settle down eventually, I did take some photos along the way – today’s share is the thank you card I made for our postie who went above and beyond for us.  Postmen (and post-ladies) in Australia deliver mail on a motorbike, so this stamp was perfect!

It mixes the fabulous “Australian” Christmas stamp set So Santa and a new DSP (Classic Garage) available in Occasions catalogue – which starts 3rd January 2019.  The ‘thank you’ is from the Takeout Treats stamp set.  Both stamp sets are retiring on 2nd Jan 2019, but still available to purchase on any order until then (unless sold out).  I know So Santa is going to be a keeper for me – it’s so rare to get summery Christmas sets!  See the product table at the end of this post for a list of all the products I’ve used to make this card.

Playing with my new DSP reminded me of how special it is to own all the DSP.

So, top of my list this week was to get the details finalised for the newest offering of DSP – including the Classic Garage.  A DSP share really the best way to own all the DSP in a totally affordable way!

What is a “Share”?

A share is a select range of products from the catalogue broken into smaller quantities so that you can order more of your favourites.  Smaller quantities means a smaller cost.  Think of it as a try before you buy option – or a get it all now option.  See and feel the DSP in person, and then order full packs of your favourites.  Sometimes a paper doesn’t become a favourite until it’s in your craft stash!

What makes up a “Share”?

I’ve calculated what I need for each share, how many people the share will include and the total cost.  I collect orders until I fill the share and then I order all the materials (paper or ribbon) required for the share.  Once they arrive, I meticulously cut the DSP and carefully package it for delivery or pickup.

When do you get your items?

Items will generally be ready to post within 2 weeks of receiving your order.  In the unlikely event I am unable to complete the numbers required for a share, I will refund your purchase via PayPal.  If you are local & picking up, I will contact you to arrange a pick up date.  If you have opted for postage, I will contact you with a tracking number once your parcel is posted.

My plan is to get beautiful new paper out to as many craft rooms in Australia as possible.  I love DSP and want to share the beautiful new patterns with you!

Just Add Ink #389 | Inspiration

It’s about this time of the year I start getting Snowflake Fatigue!  The timing of this week’s Just Add Ink challenge is perfect!

Everything in this picture says Australian Christmas to me from the colours to the gum leaves!

You can use any element or theme of the inspiration picture to spur your creativity.  Upload your project to our blog to share with everyone.

You can also see the fabulous Just Add Ink team projects on the blog.

My card is inspired by an Australian Bush Christmas theme….

Apart from the sentiment, all the elements are from the non-Christmas product range.  There’s no such thing as ‘just a birthday set’.

The wreath is from Hello Friend, the gumnuts are from Happy Birthday, Gorgeous and the Wood Textures DSP is part of the everyday DSP range.

The floral elements from the Christmas set – Merry Mistletoe – even work well for a quick spruce of the inside….

I’m sure there isn’t a child who attended Kindy in Australia that doesn’t remember spray painting gumnuts silver or gold to make Christmas decorations!  I wonder if they still do that?

I’m not sure if the availability of Pinterest has made Kindy teaching easier or harder?  I take my hat off to all teachers – it’s a rollercoaster of a job!  An hour in a classroom and I’m exhausted!

Thanks for joining me today!  Hopefully your Christmas card creating is going well.  I have much more ambition than time, so there’s a chance I’ll be extending the Christmas spirit through til January.  Or maybe Feb!!!

Beachy Little Christmas

In the same theme as yesterday’s post, I want to share another stamp set from the 2017 Holiday Catalogue that lends itself to a number of different occasions.

Today it’s all about Beachy Little Christmas…

This set was modelled on some of our iconic beachy images here in Australia.

In a catalogue full of snowflakes, it’s a great alternative option – perfect for our summery climate at this time of the year.

The stamp set comes with Christmas-like sentiments, so the first card I’m sharing is for Christmas.

I’ve used a colour theme that screams ‘beach’ to me – Sahara Sand, Pool Party & Whisper White.

The background is made using the faux woodgrain technique on glossy white cardstock, but in beachy colours – Soft Sky base and Pool Party & Bermuda Bay streaks – to emulate a water scene.

All those gorgeous pastels!!!  I love non-traditional Christmas card colours!

The second card uses the same colours, but this time I’ve left off the sentiment and used it as a birthday card.

The Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder is a great coordinating products for the beach shack stamp.

I’m always on the lookout for multiple options for the stamp sets I buy.  I want to know that I’m adding value and creativity to my stash.

I’m hopeful that many Stampin’ Up! demonstrators and customers will purchase the Beachy Little Christmas stamp set and support the efforts from the corporate design team for the Christmas range to be inclusive of all geographical areas.  Fingers crossed for a surfing Santa or 6 White Boomers stamp in a future design!!!
