Stampin’ Up! Kits – So Much Happy!

I was using my collection of Stampin’ Up! kits to make some customer thank you cards and fell in love all over again!

Stampin' Up! Kits | kelly kent

They are amazingly quality, with high-end design and offer options for beginner & experience crafters.

For the beginner – look for all-inclusive kits and follow the instructions to create beautiful cards with only extra adhesive required.

For the experienced crafter – add in supplies from your craft stash to change up the designs & add your own personal touch.

Each new catalogue release brings new kit options.

There are three kits available in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue plus a planner.

Here’s two of the card kits….

Colour INKspiration #08

Everyone loved the soft & pretty colours of last fortnight’s Colour INKspiration challenge #07.

I lost count of how many ‘lovely’ adjectives I used on commenting on all the beautiful projects!!!

This fortnight’s challenge is going to be polarising!  It’s deeper & darker and more moody!

And features Delightful Dijon which is rarely a favourite colour on anyone’s list!  But I admit that it has grown on me as it nears retirement!!!

I think it’s perfect for cards with a nature theme, masculine/neutral cards or baby cards.

I almost went down the baby card line, but on reflection, I’ve used that theme a number of time for challenges recently.

So, I decided on a neutral / masculine thank you card.  You could easily change the sentiment on this card and make it a birthday card instead.

Since this challenge features 2 of the retiring 2015-2017 In Colors – Delightful Dijon & Tip Top Taupe – I decided on a retiring stamp set too.

It’s a great time of the year to have one last play with sets that won’t make the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue like the Work of Art stamp set.

UPDATE: It seems like I forgot to check if this set was actually retiring.  It’s not!!! Whoopsie!  Thanks to one of the DT crew for checking for me!

Pleased to be able to share it with you for another year to come!

This card is quite simple, with a fun repetitive pattern using the circle stamp from Work of Art.

Effective techniques don’t always have to be hard work!

This card uses second generation or stamping off to achieve a lighter variation of the same colour.  It’s perfect for darker colours to get some light & shade.

I’ve stamped in Delightful Dijon, Tip Top Taupe and Soft Suede in full strength for some spots, then with technique to achieve a softer tone for each colour for other spots.

You stamp as normal, then stamp again without reinking – getting a lighter colour (second generation).  Or if you just need the lighter version, stamp onto scrap/scratch paper first then onto your project without reinking.

I’ve used it again on the inside of the card…

I’ve added a ‘you’re the best’ sentiment from the All Things Thanks stamp set in white heat embossing on Early Espresso cardstock.  I love the light on dark effect of heat embossing in white.

I was excited to see that All Things Thanks is carrying over!!!

And although you can’t tell in the photo, the case base is made using the new Very Vanilla {THICK} cardstock!  So excited we’re going to have this style of cardstock in VV as well as Whisper White!

You’re going to want to keep going on this hop to see all the amazing ways you can use Delightful Dijon & those moody neutrals.

Next up is the talented & lovely Jackie Noble.

Thanks for visiting!

Never Ending Succulent Card

Today I’m sharing a card with you that I made for one of my stamping besties.

Lou & I bonded online and then met for the first time in Brisbane at OnStage – where we had a giggle over both being sent the Succulent stamp set for our display board stamping.

So, there’s a touch of irony in this card – the never-ending succulent card!

A Never-Ending card was one of the first fancy cards I made.  It definitely delivered a wow factor then and still does now!!!

Here’s a video of Lou’s card in action…

A never ending card flips and flips and flips – you just keep going!

There are 4 decorated sides in total.

Joining Stampin’ Up! means different things for different people.

My Paper Adventures team has grown during 2017 with Sheila, Anne & Mandy joining the fun.  Welcome!!!

Sheila joined so that she could come to the OnStage event which is being held in Perth this April.

Anne joined to save money on her favourite products.

And Mandy joined because she wanted to fully absorb herself in a new wonderful hobby.

It doesn’t matter what your reason is, it could possibly be the best decision you’ve made!

I’m so excited to have new team members – stamping is more fun with friends!

Using some of my new products from the Occasions & Sale-A-Bration catalogues, and a demonstrator supply stamp set (order code: 135815), I made welcome gifts for the new team members.

Every gift starts with a card!  For the card, I used the Vertical Garden and All Things Thanks stamp sets together with the Carried Away DSP.

Welcome to Paper Adventures. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Then the gift – engraved bone folders personalised for our team by Courtenay at Etch n Scratch.

Welcome to Paper Adventures. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

The bone folders were packaged using my Envelope Punch Board and decorated with Carried Away DSP, ‘Best Decision Ever’ sentiment from the demo supply set of the same name and a cute little paper aeroplane (which is our team logo) from the Iconic Occasions stamp set – how convenient is that?

Stampin’ Up! offers cute packaging options and I try to use them whenever I can.

So, I finished it all off by putting the card and bone folder in an embossed glassine bag and holding it all together with some banners, another aeroplane and a gold binder clip.

Here’s a close up of the embossing – it looks amazing!
