Just Add Ink #508 | Add “F”

Hello! How are you loving the new catalogue? I’m super excited to show you some things I’ve been making with my new supplies, but for the Just Add Ink challenge this week, I couldn’t go past sharing a ‘favourite’ character for a ‘fourth’ birthday for the Just Add
“F” theme.

I can’t wait to see what you all create with this theme. There’s so many options – flowers, ferns, frogs, fish, Flirty Flamingo… and I know you’ll think of more! To join the challenge, share your project photo on the link up gallery over at the Just Add Ink blog.

It’s been a while since I shared some character punch art. I almost didn’t make this little gal, but as she is a favourite around here at the moment, it was time!

I know those of you with young children watching cartoons will recognise Bluey from her tv show. There’s something so real and relatable about the story lines and characters from Bluey that they’ve become a favourite across Australia.

I’d be lying if I said this was an easy punch art project, though having put her together once, it would be much easier to do it a second time. Here’s the breakdown of the pieces I used:

You can see that quite a lot of Bluey is free hand cutting, but the Jar Punch was a great starting point – both to get a good size for Bluey, but also the rounded corners. Once you’ve attached your large spots, cut the jar shape again to get a round shape top and bottom. The ridges on the jar were helpful for her hand/arm and the Forever Flourishing Dies provided fantastic shapes for the tail, eyebrows and smaller spots.

The other supplies used for this card were the retired Large Numbers Dies for the “four”, banner from Bonanza Dies and Starburst Punch. Current supplies were the Rectangle Stitched Framelits and 2020-2022 In Color DSP.

Colours for Bluey were Balmy Blue, Soft Sky (retired), Night of Navy, So Saffron, Whisper White and Basic Black.

If you have a little Bluey fan in your house, have a go at making your own version of Bluey! There’s always a messy desk when I’m making punch art, but the end result is worth the chaos!!!

Mermaid Magic…

After sharing Coriana’s Magical Day card & gift yesterday using the wizard sheets from the DSP, I couldn’t resist sharing this one with you today using the mermaid pages.

One side of each 12″x12″ page in this Myths & Magic Specialty DSP pack has silver glitter on it – very magical!!!

The glitter adds such a deluxe finish, you really don’t need to do much to turn it into a beautiful card.

I cut the pink mermaid with blonde hair (closest to the birthday girl) using a circular Stitched Shape, added the bubble DSP as a background and finished with happy 4th birthday.

I usually add sentiments as a rectangle, but was inspired by Stesha Bloodhart and her love of fussy cutting.  Visit her blog here.

I just love the font & styling of the happy birthday sentiment from Milestone Moments.

I tend to have lots of the very light coloured glitter dots left over from using the deeper coloured ones on other projects, but they were actually perfect for this card.  They remind me of beads of water.

Thanks for visiting with me today!

I hope your weekend is going swimmingly!!!

Miss Papercraft Turns 4!

It’s a special day at Papercraft HQ today – the littlest Miss Papercraft turns 4!

She’s a bundle of energy, full of laughs and provides lots of entertainment in our day!

Miss Papercraft Turns 4!

I got a bit cheeky for her party invites this year – and didn’t make them myself! (Insert gasp here!)

The bought ones were super cute & convenient, and although I didn’t realise at the time, would make a fabulous birthday card design.

Miss Papercraft Turns 4!

I love it when I can take something from everyday life and put a Stampin’ Up! spin on in.  Because Stampin’ Up! is so often on trend, it’s usually not hard to make it all match!

Miss Papercraft Turns 4!

The dots are from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and the amazingly coordinated sentiments are from the Window Shopping stamp set.

I even managed to pull out some matching wrapping paper!!!!

Miss Papercraft Turns 4!

Happy birthday to our gorgeous Miss.  We love you!

Cool & Cute Shaker Cards

Hello Saturday!  I’m in total awe of the weekends now that our weeks are so busy!

It’s a time to sleep in, catch up with friends and, when the weather is good, find some sun!

This weekend we have a 4th birthday party to attend, so I’ve been playing around with some girly shaker cards.

The first version is yesterday’s class card using the Cool Treats bundle.

Cool Treats Shaker Card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

How cute are the Sprinkles Embellishments???

The second version was inspired by the awesome unicorn card that Jenni from paulinespapier made.

I just loved the cute unicorn & couldn’t wait to add one to a card of mine!

Cute Unicorn Shaker Card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

The Sprinkles not only make for good shaker material – but also as a unicorn crown!

This is one of my favourite little sayings!

I hope you have a fabulous weekend with perfect weather & filled with the perfect mix of weekend magic!
