Social Stamping Blog Host | In Colors

Hello! Thanks for joining us for another Social Stamping Blog Host. These hops started almost exactly one year ago – tomorrow is the one year anniversary of Social Stamping Blog Hosts! That means it’s now over a year since our vocabulary changed and we started using phrases like social distancing, our shopping habits changed and toilet paper became the hottest commodity (I’m still none the wiser why people are stocking up on TP for a respiratory disease!) and lockdown became the new way to stay in.

Through a combination of factors including geographical isolation, border controls, and reasonable compliance with government issued instructions, Australia continues to be in an incredibly fortunate position amongst the ongoing chaos of COVID-19. Particularly here on the west coast where we are able to work, play and go about our day-to-day business with very few limitations. I am acutely aware that the rest of the world is not experiencing the same level of freedom and avoidance of all things virus. My thoughts are with you and I hope we start to see some control over the global spread.

The themes for the first part of 2021 are all about colour and I am joined by my wonderful stamping friends to share projects with you featuring the In Colors. There’s always two sets of In Colors in the Annual Catalogue, each staying with us for 2 years before making their exit. We are just about to say goodbye (in early May) to the 2019-2021 In Colors –

The 2020-2022 In Colors will stay for another full catalogue cycle –

I can’t wait for you to see all the fabulous creations from the stampers who are joining in today. The full list is at the end of this post, or you can click the next button on each post to take you around. Thanks to my friends for once again sharing their talents with us – keeping us all connected, no matter the distance or circumstances.

And no matter where you are reading this from in the world, I hope you’re doing ok!

Blossoms in Bloom

Do you remember the first time you saw stamping in action?  It was 2010 for me and I was pregnant with Little Miss Papercraft #1.  A friend asked me if I wanted to come to a Stampin’ Up! workshop her Mum was hosting.  With no papercraft experience, but nothing better to do that weekend, I joined the fun – and boy did I enjoy it!  I was a smitten kitten and that was the start of the journey to here.

On the weekend I had the pleasure of being able to share the wonder of making something creative using stamps, ink & paper with a lovely group of ladies who were mostly new to stamping.

This is the make & take project we completed using the Blossoms in Bloom stamp and Flowers for Every Season DSP.

We stamped the large flower stamp in Bumblebee ink and two of the smaller flowers in Magenta Madness – both with Early Espresso centres.  All the flower were fussy cut with Paper Snips.  The leaves are stamped onto the Whisper White layer in Just Jade ink.  The sentiment is from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp too – stamped in Magenta Madness ink.

I love this stamp set!  It has beautiful dies to go with it, but I’m loving making the floral stamps the highlight of the card. Click here to see the card I made using Misty Moonlight (blue) flowers where I stamped one piece of cardstock and created two cards!!!

We’ll very soon be adding ink pads, markers, refills, paper, ribbon & embellishments in these bright & fun new colours.

As always, I’m here to help with some storage solutions for your markers and ink refill.

Clear Case Inserts - 2020 In Colors | kelly kent

The markers fit into a Clear Mount Stamp case.  Click here to see in the online store.  The half wide cases for the ink refills are sadly discontinued.  But since I know so many of you still own this style of case I have included the printable insert.  Click below to download

These are available for you to download and print free of charge and are for personal use only.  You are welcome to share a link to this page with your stamping friends & customers.  Please do not upload these files to your own blog, Facebook page/group or any other online source.

These are designed using A4 paper sizes.  For correct printing, ensure ‘actual size’ in printing options.

Thank you for visiting each year to download my clear case inserts.  Your traffic helps sustain my blog and allows me to continue to offer them free of charge.  Share the word with other Stampin’ Up! storage addicts!

Social Stamping | animals

Hello!  Thanks for joining us for today’s Social Stamping Blog Host.  I’m joined by some amazing designers to share projects with the theme ‘animals’.  To see a full list of everyone joining in today, click here for the participant list.

I had a hard time deciding which stamp set to use for this hop – I’ve collected a few with animals and they are all super cute!  After receiving my preorder of new Stampin’ Up! products from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue during the week, I decided the new Flowers for Every Season DSP was perfect for the retiring Leave A Little Magic stamp set.

This time of year is my favourite for mixing the old & the new.  New colours and patterns are an easy way to freshen up a stamp set that has been neglected in your stash!

2020-2022 In Colors | kelly kent

The new In Colors for 2020-2022 are Magenta Madness (used here for the card base) plus Just Jade, Bumblebee, Mist Moonlight (all seen in the DSP) and Cinnamon Cider.  I’m in love!!!

Leave A Little Magic | kelly kent

The style of this card has a flat base and then a folded card in the middle.  It’s super fun to make and so easy!

There’s a fold over band, which I’ve tucked under the unicorn’s feet to keep it flat.

The unicorn was stamped on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, heat embossed in silver and coloured with an Aqua Painter and inks (Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry & Pretty Peacock).  The body of the unicorn has been layered with Frost White Shimmer Paint (which no matter how I tried I couldn’t capture the shimmer in the photo).

Every unicorn needs a floral crown, so I fussy cut a few flowers from the DSP and added them for a finishing touch.

I can’t wait for you to see more with these new colours.  They are bright and fun and I know you’re going to love them!  New catalogue ordering is available from 3rd June 2020, or join my Paper Adventures Team now to get early access and a great discount!

If there’s any retiring products from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue that you’d still like to order, you will need to do so ASAP.  Click here to browse the Last Chance Retirement List in my online store.
