Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop | Retirement List

Paper Adventures - Blog Hop Header

Welcome to the Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop for May.

I love May…. it’s my birthday month, the weather is often amazing and we are on the cusp of a new catalogue!  Lots of happy in May!

With the change in catalogue coming, the theme for our May hop is the retirement list.  And our fabulous guest designer is the Ink Paper Girl – Katrina Duffell.

I made two cards to share today featuring a range of retiring colours.  See all the Colour Revamp info by clicking here.

You’ll want to make sure you’ve got cardstock, ink, refills and embellishments to match any colours you’ll be keeping post retirement.   There’s lots of new colours to love, but if you’ve got a favourite, make sure you’re not chasing the ink refill at crazy prices after it retires.  They are only $6.50 and available until 31st May (unless they sell out earlier) in my online store.  Click here to browse.

There’s 3 pinks retiring from the range that I used in my first card.  Sweet Sugarplum from the In Colors range, Pink Pirouette from the Subtles and Rose Red from the Regals.

Retiring products on this card include the Birthday Blooms stamp set, Painted with Love DSP & Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  All the DSP except Wood Textures is retiring – so add any favourites to your May order.Birthday Blooms | kelly kent

I’ll be blogging with Sweet Sugarplum right up til the last minute!!  And I’ve stocked up so I can keep using it in my craft space for years to come!  And Brick Wall is staying as well (I’m still shocked about that retirement!).

There’s a big change of blues in the Colour Revamp.  We are losing Dapper Denim from the In Color range, Soft Sky & Marina Mist from the Subtles, Island Indigo from the Regals and Tempting Turquoise from the Brights.  I’ve featured three of these in my second card.

The Feather Together stamp set formed the theme for this card.  I really loved this stamp set (and perhaps didn’t get nearly as much use from it as I should).  I’ll be keeping this in my stash for personal use as well.  Sweet Sugarplum feathers anyone???

The embellishments (banner & sentiment) are from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.  I’m not sure I ever used these framelits to their full potential – it really is a great set.

There were lots of angles for my retirement projects. I’ve covered….

Stamp set I loved: Feather Together

Stamp set everyone else loved: Birthday Blooms

Embossing Folder I’m surprised to see retiring: Brick Wall

Totally Under-used Framelits: Mini Treat Bag

ESAD Blog Hop | 2018 Retirement List

No automatic alt text available.

What a bittersweet moment every retirement list is!

There’s the excitement of new things to come, but the sadness of some favourites retiring.  I am always on the side of excitement – because…… I own my favourites and I can keep using them as long as I want!  And add more pretties to my collection from the new catalogue!  Win-win!

There’s a combined list for 2018 including the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue and 2018 Occasions catalogue.

The online store is the easiest way to keep track of what is still available on the retirement list – because things {WILL} sell out.  Visit my online store here.

Today I’m hopping with the ESAD Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.

I know the inspiration is going to be huge!!!  You’ll see new ways of using sets you already own, discover stamps set you hadn’t noticed before (just as they are retiring!) and I’m sure you’ll add a few things to your ever growing list of Stampin’ must haves!

Being firmly in the kid zone here at Papercraft HQ, I always love seeing what Stampin’ Up! bring out each year in the Babies & Kids section of the catalogue.

We had some great stamp sets join us last year.  Some are staying, but we’re saying goodbye to….

My project today uses two of those stamp sets that I’ve loved over the past year – Moon Baby & Little One.

Thankfully Tranquil Tide is not yet retiring but all DSP in the catalogue is retiring (except Wood Textures), so you’ll want to make sure you stock up on any favourite patterns.  I’ve used the True Gentleman DSP from the Occasions catalogue.

The sentiment from this set is from another retiring stamp set – Ready to Pop which has a range of sentiments including this cute ‘with love’.

It’s a {COLOUR REVAMP}

COLOR-REVAMP_DEMO_HEADER_UKSP

Some of the biggest news to come from OnStage is new colours!  It was time for a colour revamp where we see significant changes in the colour range – and I’m oh-so-excited by the choices Stampin’ Up! have made!!!

Some of the colours we’ve known as Brights, Regals, Neutrals & Subtles are retiring.

Retiring Colours 2018 | kelly kent

Four of the 5 In Colors from the 2016-2018 collection are retiring – Flirty Flamingo joins the core colour range (saying goodbye to Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach & Sweet Sugarplum).

Retiring colours makes way for new colours, so we are welcoming a mix of returning In Colors and brand new never before seen colours.  Is your favourite coming back???

There’s still 4 main colour collections (with the same titles) plus 2 x 5 In Color Collections (10 In Colors in each catalogue) and 3 Basic colours (Whisper White, Basic Black, Very Vanilla) for a total of 53 colours.

How beautiful is that rainbow of colour!!!

As well as new colours to enjoy, we’re also getting a new stamp pad case!!

It’s stacked with innovative features – slimmer, stackable & easier to open.  The new pads & refills will also contain a defoaming additive – which improves the consistency of the ink.

You’ll see these slowly integrate into the range over the next couple of months, starting with the 2018-2020 In Colors and rolling out to the new/returning colours and existing colours in the range.

*** the online store is the easiest way to keep tabs on item availability.

If you have any favourites on the retirement list, you’ll want to order them soon.  Availability of products is variable with many only being available while stocks last.

Note about ink pads on the retirement list: You’ll see all ink pads on the retirement list – whether they retire permanently or are being repackaged.  Use the information in the first part of this blog post to check which colours are permanent retirements and which colours are continuing and will be available in the new style.

Basic Gray & Basic Black Archival Ink pads are both retiring.  Basic Gray will return as a core colour in the classic ink pad style.  StazOn Jet Black is returning as a permanent alcohol based ink option.

The online store is open 24-7 with shipping direct to your door (click here to visit).  If you’d like to use the host code & receive a thank you gift from me, the code for April is: 2AR3XM3B.

Have you stocked your In Color Favourites?

There’s still just under 2 months left of the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue – all the action ends the 31st May 2018.

Stampin’ Up! will release the official retirement list next week, but there’s one range of products we are guaranteed to say goodbye to – the 2016-2018 In Color range.

2018 In Color Retirement | kelly kent

This includes Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum & Peekaboo Peach.

If any of these colours are on your list of favourites, then I suggest you stock up {BEFORE} the official retirement list comes out.  After this point, stock is only available on a ’til it lasts’ basis and many of the products will sell out quickly.

Make sure you have reinkers for your inkpads, extra cardstock to see you through and any accessories you’ll miss.

Although it’s always sad to see colours go that we have fallen in love with – it’s exciting to know that 5 new In Colors will be arriving in June.

If you have any questions about the retirement list or need help to place an order, please let me know!
