ESAD Blog Hop – 2017 Annual Catalogue Retirement List

Hi!  And welcome to an ESAD blog hop where demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand are sharing projects they’ve made that highlight some of the items that are retiring at the end of the current catalogue cycle.

This was a tough hop to design for – the items on the retirement list are selling out fast as people stock up on things they love or buying sets that they know they’ll miss.  It means that not everything you see on the hop will be available at the time of you reading this.  So be sure to check out what’s still available by visiting the Retiring Products section of my online store.

My plan was not to show you one retiring product, but types or categories of products that are retiring.

The first project I’m sharing features the hearts confetti border punch.  Both this pattern and the stars are on the retirement list.  I rarely used these as border punches, but loved them for shaker card fill & when I needed teeny tiny little stars or hearts.

The strip of DSP featured on this card is from the DSP Paper Stack.  Stampin’ Up! is retiring all the paper stacks in all the colour collections.  And they are not replacing them with updated designs as they have in previous years.  So, if you want DSP to match the colour collections, you’ll want to get them before they retire (or sell out).

Also on the list is all the current sequin trim (to be replaced with a stunning tiny sequin trim!!!) and 2016-2018 In Color Ruched ribbon range.

The butterfly punches & matching stamp sets are also on the retirement list.  I am going to miss these – particularly the Bitty Butterfly punch, featured above in Blushing Bride glimmer (because that’s retiring too!).

I’ve used the Potpourri stamp set & Elegant Butterfly punch to decorate the inside of the card, together with some Affectionately Yours washi tape.  All the washi tape is on the retirement list – you can see the range still available here.

And finally for this card, the whole 2015-2017 In Color range is retiring including my very favourite Mint Macaron!!!  You can find out what’s still left by clicking here.

My second card features Project Life products.  Stampin’ Up!’s time as a partner with Becky Higgins has come to an end and this means the end of the Project Life brand within the Stampin’ Up! catalogue.

Stampin’ Up! is replacing this line with a gorgeous new memory keeping collection, which I’ll be sharing more with you when the catalogues launches in June.

This means that all Project Life products are on the retirement list.  You can find out what’s still available by clicking here.

I’m really going to miss the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits!!!

I’ve featured a few other retiring items on this card including the Timeless Love stamp set, Sweetheart punch, Bow Clip & Very Vanilla Thick Baker’s Twine.

Although some favourites have sold out, there are still lots left – and many at a great discount!!!

For more retirement list inspiration, and to create a wishlist you never knew you had, please keep moving on the hop, just down the road, to my lovely friend Rachael Lewsley.

If you get lost at any stage of the hop due to broken links, there’s a full list at the bottom of this post.

CASEing the Catty #124 Host Sets

Happy Easter Sunday!

How’s the chocolate consumption going?  I have OD’d!!!  Someone hide the secret stash from me!!!

I’m pleased to be sharing a chocolate free creation with you today for CASEing the Catty #124 – Host Sets.

For this challenge we had free reign on any inspiration coming from the host sets in the Annual or Occasions catalogue.

I flicked through the catalogue earlier in the week and couldn’t make a deicions.  WHen I came back to it later in the week, it was an easy choice.

Funny how our experiences during the week can alter how we think or see things!

My week has been all about the retirement list.  There’s still lots of choice for amazing Stampin’ Up! items – many at a discount.

Technically, all of the host sets are retiring (they always do).  But it was another retiring set that I wanted to get inky again… before it goes!

I’ve loved Kinda Eclectic!!!  That sweet little butterfly has featured on many cards produced via my craft table.

I used the layout from this host card in the Annual Catalogue…

To create this Kinda Eclectic version with butterflies!

I used the Gold Wink of Stella pens to create the gold splatters on the card base.

This has {NEVER} worked for me before!  And now that I’ve been able to master it, I’m sad that the gold pen is retiring!  But soooooo happy that the Clear Wink of Stella pen is staying around.

The sentiment is from the Helping Me Grow stamp set.  Although retiring, I’m going to keep this set in my stash because it’s a classic for teachers and other helping influences.

If you see any favourites in my blog posts over the next 6 weeks that I mention as retiring, you’ll want to order those before they disappear forever!  Stocks are available unti 31st May 2017 or the warehouse runs out – whichever comes first!  Retirement list shopping is best done in my online store.

Just Add Ink #355 Sketch

Welcome to the weekly Just Add Ink challenge!

I love the rotation of challenges at Just Add Ink!  There’s always something new to try & inspire!

This week we’re making to a sketch designed by the super talented Narelle.

And you know sketches are one of my favourite types of challenges!

I’m a little scared to post products from the retirement list at the moment because they are selling out fast!!!

But when I made this card and checked the list, the Cupcakes & Carousel stamp set and DSP were still available!  And the DSP is on sale in the Australian market!!!

My apologies if they’ve disappeared since then.

My original plan was actually a Nailed It (tools) card – but that bundle is {ALL GONE}.

If you’d like to shop from the retirement list, make sure you place your order soon!

So….. this is my vintage themed carousel card….

I’m much better at clean edges and straight lines than I am at vintage, so this might not be as vintage as some…. but I did rough the edges!

And added Soft Suede ink over the Crushed Curry on the carousel before I stamped it.

Although the plan for this card was to feature retiring products, there’s a sneaky peek on this card….

Very Vanilla cardstock will soon come in T-H-I-C-K!!!  I can sense the excitement from the VV fans!

Visit the Just Add Ink blog to see the other Design Team samples and add your creation to our link up.

If you need to place a retirement list order, you can visit my online store.  The host code for April is JQENNDM4.

Happy stamping!
