My final share from the 2017 Holiday Catalogue had to include those gorgeous Foil Snowflakes.  If you loved them as much as I did, I hope you’ve stocked up!  They won’t be available to purchase after 8.59pm tonight (WA time).

I also loved the Festive Phrases stamp set.  It was an impulse buy which I’ve gotten so much use from!  There’s 4 diverse sentiments in this set – perfect for a range of festive occasions.

It’s one of the discounted items from the Holiday Catalogue – only $25.50 in clear and $33.60 in wood.

I’ve snuck in an Occasions Catalogue sneak peek….. new to the range tomorrow is the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder.  Stylish & versatile, you’re going to want to add it to your collection!

CASEing the Catty #149 | Year of Cheer

And just like that, the school holidays are over!

Back to packed lunches, early starts and after school activities!!!

If you have kids, what kind of holiday parent are you?  Love the change up and find it hard to go back, or – at your limits and ready for someone else to entertain them for 7 hours of the day???

I’m a holiday loving mumma – but mostly for the sleep ins I think!!!

Staying up til 1am is a little easier when I know I don’t have to be up at 7am!

Because it’s Sunday, it’s time for another CASEing the Catty project.

Today, we’re CASEing the Year of Cheer section of the Holiday catalogue.

Choose any element of what you see from pages 36 – 47.

I’ve chosen to CASE the colours & styling of this super cute treat bag on page 45…

Although you probably don’t often think of black for baby cards, black and pink together make a cute modern twist on the traditional baby card colours!CTC #149 Hello Baby | kelly kentI’m pretty sure the original Stampin’ Up! project is Flirty Flamingo, but I softened it up a little by having Blushing Bride as the pink.

The DSP choice is the same, and I’ve kept the vellum heart {so much to love about the inspiration card!}.  The vellum is applied using a small amount of Fast Fuse.  It barely shows up through the vellum – perfect!  And even more perfect – buy a Fast Fuse during October and get 2 free refills!CTC #149 Hello Baby | kelly kentI’ve lost count of how many different types of cards I’ve used the Foil Snowflake on now.  They are definitely not just for Christmas!!

The ‘hello’ is from the Hello Friend stamp set – I’ve got a total crush on this stamp set at the moment!  To get the depth of colour I stamped it three times in Blushing Bride using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the placement.

The ‘baby’ is from Happy Celebrations (love that font!) in Basic Black Archival Ink.CTC #149 Hello Baby | kelly kent

And the final fun touches are Black Shimmer ribbon, Gold Mini Sequin Trim, Pearl Jewels and some Shimmery White Hearts.

I’m not sure where the hearts are from in the inspiration card, but cut mine using the Window Box Thinlit.  There’s two sizes in one of the square patterns – just beautiful for accents!

I just love how this card turned out – and although I haven’t forgotten, it reminds the wonderful inspiration contained within those catalogue pages.

Please join us with what inspires you this week from pages 36-47 of the Holiday Catalogue.  And share your creation with us on our Facebook group.

Thanks for hopping!

See what the rest of the design team has created, hopping from here to Angela Meiritz-Reid with another gorgeously pinkly baby card….

Painted Harvest

It is my mission for every new catalogue that Stampin’ Up! releases to buy the set that everyone is raving about.

Not only because if the masses like it, then chances are that I will too, but because there ends up being a tonne of inspiration available on Pinterest & Facebook!

So, this catalogue, my ‘peer picked’ stamp set is Painted Harvest. It comes with a coordinating punch – a very versatile leaf shape.

And, one of the best features is that bundled together, the stamp set and punch are only $58.50 (Australian pricing).

You can buy the bundle in my online store, click here to be taken there!

When my Stampin’ Up! box arrived this morning (mostly filled with customer orders and just a few goodies for me…. or at least that’s what I’m telling Mr Papercraft), Painted Harvest was the first thing I unpacked.

The sunflower looks amazing in a range of different colours, and I’m looking forward to experimenting, but for my first inking, I was all about the traditional…

Painted Harvest | kelly kent

A clean and simple design to let the sunflower shine!

Painted Harvest | kelly kent

As usual the Painted Harvest coordinated well with other products in the Stampin’ Up! range.  I’ve paired it with the Layered Leaves embossing folder.

Thanks for visiting today!  Be sure to check in tomorrow and Thursday for some design team cards!

Foil Snowflakes – So Much More Than Christmas

The 2017 Holiday Catalogue brings us a great assortment of new lovelies to play with.

One of my favourite embellishments are the Foil Snowflakes.

Being in the southern hemisphere, I’m not so much of a snowflake girl for Christmas cards, but the most wonderful thing about the Foil Snowflakes is that they are more like another version of a metallic doily than anything else.  So, they are perfect for all your card making needs.

They come in gold & silver, have a fantastic weight to them and the reverse side is white, which means (although I haven’t tried yet), you could probably tint them any colour.

We used them on this bright & fun card at last week’s demonstrator card class – on a {BIRTHDAY} card!!!

Paint Play | kelly kent

The stamp set is Paint Play – one of my new additions from the Annual Catalogue.

I’ve used the silver ‘snowflake’ in this card.  You can see the gold one in action on a Christmas card from yesterday’s CASEing the Catty project.

Paint Play | kelly kent

If you haven’t yet ordered a packet (or 6) of these gorgeous doilies snowflakes, then head over to my online store.  It’s open 24-7 and ready to help out with all your stamping needs.

ESAD Blog Hop – 2017 Holiday Catalogue

Image may contain: text

Hello!  Welcome to our latest ESAD Blog Hop.  We’re celebrating the start of the Stampin’ Up! 2017 Holiday Catalogue.

I may be a little biased since SU! is my favourite card making supply company, but they have hit another winner with this catalogue!

Be prepared for your wishlist to grow as you visit each of the talented ESAD members participating in this blog hop!  A full list in available at the end of this post – just in case there’s any broken links!

Image may contain: text

If you haven’t yet seen a copy of the Holiday Catalogue, you can download the digital version here.

Hard copies are available from your local Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.  If you don’t yet have a demonstrator to supply you with all your stamping needs, you have plenty of choice along this hop!!!

I have added some lovely new items to my Stampin’ Up! collection of late, but one particular area I have been stocking up in, is the Memories & More card kits.

There are 4 kits available in the Annual Catalogue and a Christmas collection in the Holiday Catalogue.

I’m not a large scrapbooker or memory keeper, but I throughout the year I’ll make one-off pages for the girls as posters for their room.  Eventually there will be enough of these to make an album!!!

But, while the cards are handy for these pages, the main reason I buy them is they are the perfect size for cards!  It’s like gaining a whole new pack of DSP (which we know I love!).

Each Memories and More card kit contains 72 double sided cards (20 of the large size and 52 of the smaller size), sticker sheets and acetate overlays (numbers vary based on the kit).

Today I’m sharing creations I’ve made using the Merry Little Christmas card kit from the Holiday Catalogue.

First up, I’m sharing a scrapbook page I’ve made…

Merry Little Christmas Memories & More Kit | kelly kent

By simply layering the Memories & More cards onto a page from the Merry Little Christmas DSP (yes, we love a coordinating suite!), this page is ready to go with our family memories from Christmas 2017.

The full page lined card leaves plenty of room for journalling and I’ve left the Old Olive cardstock ready to layer a photo on!

Merry Little Christmas Memories & More Kit | kelly kent

Check out the ‘family’ sticker on the top right card.  How cute are those stickers for adding extra detail!?!

The second project I’m sharing with you today is 4 cards that I whipped up really quickly using a sheet each of Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive cardstock (cut in half to make 2 cards per sheet).  There’s also some Basic Black cardstock too in the mix to keep within the colour theme of the card kit.

Here are the first two….

Merry Little Christmas Memories & More Kit | kelly kent

All the large size cards are just slightly bigger than our card fronts here in Australia, so I trimmed them down to 3-7/8″ x 5-5/8″.

The small cards are already 3-7/8″ tall, so those fit just fine and meant I could display the whole gorgeous card on each of these designs.

I added some silver snowflakes from the sticker sheet to the card on the left and the silver ‘merry’ sentiment to the card on the right.

Here’s the other two…

Merry Little Christmas Memories & More Kit | kelly kent

For the card on the left, the sentiment comes from a small card – I just cut it out with my paper snips.

The card on the right has a sticker from the cardstock sticker sheet.  The Kraft coloured cards have a beautiful ‘pearl white’ print on them.

Merry Little Christmas Memories & More Kit | kelly kent

To make the scrapbook page and the four cards, I only used a fraction of the cards in my kit.  There’s 36 unique designs (with two sides, so really 72 options), which gives you plenty of creative leeway if you like that freedom, but lots of direction if you just want to whip up some ready to go cards this festive season!

My last share for today is a project I’ve been meaning to make happen for some time, but this blog hop has given me the kick up the bum to do it!

The card kits come in cute little cardboard boxes, but it means every time you want to play with your cards you’ve got to get them all out (and then put them away).

Like so many of our stamping supplies, the clear cases are a perfect solution for storage.

These kits fit best in the full size wood cases.  These little gems accidentally got missed from print run of the Annual Catalogue, but they are very much still available.

Memories & More Free Printable Case Inserts | kelly kent

{Looks like a washi tape insert is next on my list!}

You can download the free printable inserts for your Merry Little Christmas Memories & More card kit here….

And the other four Memories & More card kits from the Annual Catalogue here

Memories & More Annual Catalogue Kits - free printable inserts

Well, that’s all from me.  It seems I’m a little excited to return to blogging.  So good to see you all!!!

Next up on the hop is the totally gorgeous Josie Dean – you’re going to love what she’s made.

No automatic alt text available.

Thanks for joining us!  We love hearing from you if you have time to leave a comment.

Faux Woodgrain Technique

I had a list of things I wanted to accomplish during August and the Faux Woodgrain technique was one of them.

Several of my demonstrator friends have been showing their flashy cards on social media and they *promised* me it was the easiest technique ever!

Turns out… it is!

With the help of this great tutorial video by Carolyn Bennie, we used this technique during my August demonstrator class.

Faux Woodgrain Technique | kelly kent

It uses Glossy White cardstock and ‘swipes’ of ink directly from your ink pad.  The best part is – no two pieces are ever going to look the same.

It was the perfect backdrop for the gorgeous ballerina from the new Sugarplum Dreams stamp set in the newly released Holiday Catalogue.

Sugarplum Dreams | kelly kent

Having 2 girls, the ballerina was a ‘must have’ for me!!!

I’m also excited to play with the other stamps in this set, but the ballerina was the first Holiday Catalogue item I purchased and the first I used!

Also in August, I used it in a completely different colour scheme to make a more rich & regal card for a friend…

Sugarplum Dreams Ballerina | kelly kent

The sentiment that comes with the stamp set is gorgeous…

There’s a few other Holiday Catalogue products in there if you spy closely – Quilt Top Embossing Folder & Year of Cheer Washi Tape.

Have you looked through the new catalogue yet?  What’s top of your list???
